Hey everyone! So it seems that I’m on a bit of a roll here. I hope everyone likes this chapter, I think it’s a bit of a transition chapter into the next. … which will be up soon!

So please read and review!

Enjoy!

“Danny! Where the hell have you been?!” Flack stuck his head out of the door of Mac’s office when he saw his friend stepping out of the elevator. “Get your scrawny little ass in here!”

Danny frowned, but followed Flack’s orders; and because really confused. The rest of the team had also gathered in there as well. Everybody was there: Flack, Stella, Hawkes, Mac, Adam and Kendal.

Danny suddenly felt very tense and nervous. Why would the whole lab be gathered in Mac’s office? What had happened? He looked around at all of the serious faces that surrounded him.

Why are we in here?” He asked. “What’s going on?”

“It’s about Linds- ouch, Kendal!” Adam held the spot on his ribcage where Kendal had elbowed him hard.

Danny’s eyes went wide. “What?! Is she okay? What’s happened to her?” His eyes found Mac, who had been standing behind his desk silently, watching everything that had been going on.

“Lindsay is fine, Danny.” He reassured the young CSI. “I talked to her supervisor last week, and everything was going well.”

Then Mac addressed the whole group. “As you all know, I spoke with the undercover last week. He explained to me that The Tanglewood Boys were lying low and that he knew of nothing involving Danny or anybody else.” Glancing around the room, Mac saw a couple of faces with a mixture of relief and nervousness, but the rest of the team just looked confused.

“But that makes no sense, Mac.” Stella replied. “I mean, we all know that they want Danny dead.”

Mac nodded. “I know. But he called me a couple of hours ago and now everything has changed. The Tanglewood Boys are moving fast. They’re planning to take you out, Danny. We don’t know when, but we know for sure that they’re planning on doing it soon.”

She was going home! She couldn’t believe it. Lindsay was finally heading back to New York. Mac’s e-mail hadn’t given her much of an idea of what happened between Danny and The Tanglewood Boys, but that could be explained to her later. Right now, she had a tree hour flight ahead of her.

Boarding the airplane, Lindsay took her eat and sighed, a relaxed smile on her face. Lindsay had not felt more alone than in these past three months. Sure, her Mom and the rest of her family had been there for her, but it wasn’t nearly the same as living in New York with her new family.

And work, well work had definitely been something else. The cases were boring, mostly because they were so few and far in between. And her co-workers were people she would rather have avoided. They were nosy, loud and intrusive, always wanting to know what was going on and what you were doing. But what else should she have expected? They had nothing better to do with their time.

But now . . . Now she was finally going back . . . Back to where she belonged.

“Alright, we’ve got her. She’s in the back. We’re heading over right now.” The driver of the squad car spoke into the radio.

A deep voice crackled over in response. “Good. Make sure you keep her quiet until you get her there. We can’t risk her waking up until you get there.”

The driver nodded even thought his boos couldn’t see him and turned left, down an old, pot-hole filled road. “Don’t worry ‘bout it boss.” The driver replied. “I dosed ‘er good. She won’t be waking up any time soon.” The driver smiled.

“Good,” came the deep crackling voice. “I’ll meet you out front in 45 minutes.”

“You got it boss.”

Danny looked from Mac, then to Stella and back. “So,” he started when he realized that Mac wasn’t going to elaborate. “What are the Boys planning on doing to me?” He was really surprised by this revelation. Danny knew that it would be coming, he just didn’t know when.

“We don’t know,” replied Stella. “That’s the problem.”

Mac nodded at Danny, who suddenly was not feeling so confident. “You don’t know?” He repeated slowly. “What do you know?” He asked, clenching and unclenching his fists at his sides to calm himself down.

“We know that it’s coming soon,” answered Mac. “We know that until this is over and done with, you have got to exercise extreme caution, Danny.”

Danny went to open his mouth the argue, but Mac cut him off before he could even start.

“No Danny,” he said. “I mean it. You’ve got to be watching you back at all times.” Then he turned to everyone else. “And that goes for everyone as well. These guys aren’t going to rest until they have what they want.”

“So what are we going to do?” Asked Hawkes, who, until now, had been standing quietly in the corner, just listening.

“We are going to do what we always do,” replied Flack, glancing around at everyone before catching Danny’s eye. Both men were full of stubborn determination.

“We’re going to hunt them down, and we’re not gonna stop until they’re behind bars for life.”

Lindsay groaned and raised her throbbing head. It felt like it was about to split open. Everything inside her brain was a jumbled web of mush right now, making it hard for her to think clearly. She had clearly been drugged.

Where was she?

Was she still in New York?

How long had she been out for?

It didn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out who had done this to her. The Tanglewood Boys were obviously behind her kidnapping.

But it was hard to think when her head was pounding so badly. What had they knocked her out with? Moaning in pain, Lindsay went to raise a hand to her head to feel for any major abrasions, but she found that to was unable to.

They had chained her arms to the wall.

Great.

Glancing around, Lindsay realized that she was most likely in an abandoned warehouse, or in the he basement of an old house. The cement floor she was sitting on was caked with dirt and grime. The air was damp and it smelt of musty, moth eaten curtains. On the far side of the room there was a small window near where the wall and ceiling met.

“Well, well . . . Look who has decided to wake up.” In walked Tony Sassone himself, and a couple of his buddies, through a door Lindsay hadn’t noticed was there.

She didn’t say anything. She just stared at Tony and his boys and tried to look a lot stronger than she felt. She felt physically sick, just looking at Tony. He disgusted her. But she was still terrified of what he was going to do to her.

“So tell us,” Tony cam within a foot of Lindsay and bent down so that he was at eye level with her. He reeked of beer, cigarettes and something Lindsay didn’t recognize.

“How come we had to go all the way to Montana to get you?”

Lindsay didn’t reply. Instead, she glared at him as he moved slowly closer to her.

“Are we not feeling talkative today?” Tony smiled, showing off his plate of slimy yellow teeth. “That’s okay; all you need to do is listen.” He paused for a couple of seconds and stared at Lindsay.

“You see, your lab buddies, they have no idea that you’re back in New York. They all still think that you’re in Montana, safe and sound.” Tony stood up to dismiss the cronies that had followed him into the basement.

Once they left, Lindsay finally spoke. “What do you want with me?” she asked, her determination and stubbornness shining through her question.

“You already know what I want with you.” Tony headed for the door. “Just wait until Messer finds out about this.” And with that, Lindsay was left alone in the dark.

I hop you enjoyed it!
