A/N: I have decided to take a small break from writing DL fanfics. Not that my love for them has diminished - I still do and will always love my beloved television couple - but I have wanted to do a Redwall story for a long time now. For my regular readers who plan to read this story but are not familiar with Redwall, I will be giving some background on the first chapter, so hopefully you won't all be confuzzled. Reviews are love and always appreciated. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing, except for the names of my characters in this story. Everything in the Redwall universe - every species, object, place, etc. - is owned by the wonderfully talented Brian Jacques (aka the author of the series).
Synopsis: With his massive vermin army, Acadius the Cold is unstoppable in his conquest to take over the peaceful Redwall Abbey, who has not seen war in countless seasons. Two squirrels, cruelly separated by the evil fisher, reunite and join forces to restore Mossflower to what it once was: a peaceful haven for all woodlanders. Can the Redwallers trust in the aid of both a living and long-dead warrior to guide them, and can Acadius be stopped before his plan becomes reality?
Prologue
Come in, my friend. Come and sit by the fire. The snow falls deep and soft upon the earth, encasing it in a glorious wonderland of sparkling flakes. Feel the embers dance across your face and the warmth flow through your veins like a great river. Here, take this mug of hot apple cider and a wedge of nut cheese. You must be weary after your long travels. It is always nice to sit in the company of old friends, is it not? After all, friends are the family members fortune forgot to give you.
The story I am about to relate to you is one of family and companionship, amongst many other things. Of a young creature who is marked by the paw of destiny long before he was ever born. Of a vicious leader, wicked and cruel, hungry for power and domination, and leaving behind a trail of death and destruction. Of the ultimate sacrifice one must sometimes make in order to save those who are dear to him. And finally, of two beasts torn apart by the clutches of evil but fated to stand together in battle.
It is said that all the great warriors are transformed into stars when they pass on to Dark Forest. Their spirits soar to the very edge of the heavens, where they shine their honour and bravery down upon the world. My story is of just that: courage and valour. So sit back, relax under the blissful glow of the crackling flames, and listen to my words…
