Tears of Blood

It was the second day on that Godforsaken island. Everyone was either hiding somewhere, in a group with friends or stalking their next kill. It was 6:00am in the morning, Kitano was due any minute to read out the names of those who died over night. There were only twenty survivours left. Chigusa was somewhere in the woodland part of the island having her morning jog. All she could think about was Hiroki Sugimura, her best friend throughout high school. She secretly had strong feelings for him for a long time but hasn't told him yet. She thought she better take a break.

Chigusa made her way up to the Shrine she's been hiding out at since the game started. From behind the bushes cam rustling, Chigusa jumped to her feet and pulled from her Survival Bag her Knife, " Who's there!? Show yourself. Or else!"

Just then from out of the bushes came Hiroki. Chigusa's face lit up and raced over to wrap her arms around him. He wrapped his arms around her also, glad to see she was safe. He let go of her and said softly, " Chigusa, are you okay?"

She looked at him still smiling. She then said to him cheerfully, "Yeah I'm fine. I'm glad to see your okay."

Just then, a twig snapped from behind them. Hiroki pushed Chigusa behind him to protect her. She held onto his arm tightly and stood close to him. From out of the bushes came Mitsuko Souma. She stood there smiling maniacally to herself. Chigusa and Hiroki stood there glued to the spot with panic. Mitsuko held in her gun pointing directly at them. She then said with a chuckle, " Which one of the lovebirds should I kill?"

Hiroki grabbed dirt from the ground and chucked it at Mitsuko's eyes. He then garbbed Chigusa and they both ran as fast as they could away from her clutches. Mitsuko wiped away the dirt from her eyes and angrily chased after them shooting at them with her gun.

They managed to escape from Mitsuko. Hiroki was out of breath from running that fast. He then looked over at Chigusa to see if she was okay. Chigusa was on the ground sitting against a tree. Hiroki went and sat beside her, placing his arm around her shoulders. She placed her head gently on his chest. She could feel his chest moving up and down with every breath he took. She turned her head around and stared at him smiling. She then said to him softly, " Hiroki...Promise me you won't leave me."

He glanced at her smiling, "Of course I will. I wouldn't leave you behind."

Chigusa smiled brightly as he said that. She then moved closer to him. Hiroki could feel Chigusa's breath on his face. They were really close now, so close that they're faces were almost touching. Chigusa moved in closer, they're lips almost meeting. It was interupted moments later by screaming. It was the sound of someone screaming to death. Another victim. It went silent. After the silence, came the sound of footsteps running. The footsteps got closer and closer. It was the sound of Kazushi Niida. He had an obsession with Chigusa. When he saw Chigusa in Hiroki's arms, he started shouting, "Get your hands off my Chigusa!"

Chigusa got up to her feet and started shouting, "Since when was I yours? I don't belong to anybody. Why don't you go away and leave me alone?"

Niida then pointed his crossbow at Hiroki saying, "If you won't go out with me, I'll kill him."

Hiroki was left helpless. Chigusa walked over to Niida and stood in front of the crossbow, " Leave Hiroki out of this."

Niida looked on as Chigusa defended Hiroki. His hand slipped as he tripped over a branch and shot Chigusa in the stomach. Blood was gushing from the injury. Chigus fell to her knees, she felt so cold.

Hiroki grabbed the knife from Chigusa's pocket and charged over to Niida, stabbing him repeatedly in the chest. Eventually, Niida died. It went silent. Hiroki stood up and raced over to Chigusa's side. He wrapped his arms around her and her her close. Blood from her wound was pouring onto the ground. Her eyes were trying to focus on Hiroki. She attempted to speak, "Hiroki...A-Are...y-you in l-love with a-nybody?"

Hiroki's eyes swelled up with tears, trying to hold them back. He then said trying not to sound sad, "Yeah. I am"

She tried to smile, "Please...tell m-me it's not m-me."

He tried to smile back, "No...It's not."

She was still trying to smile, "G-good...I don't want.. y-you to love me because...I d-don't want you to b-be sad."

He looked puzzled, "Sad why?"

She looked at her wound. He then looked, "Oh yeah..."

She tried to sit up a little. She then asked groaning a little from the pain,"Hiroki...Can you d-do m-me a...favour?"

He looked at her wondering what the favour was, "Yeah, what is it?"

She moved a little more closer to him, "Don't leave me...just..yet and..."

She screamed with pain."Can... y-you please k-kiss me g-goodbye?"

Hiroki leaned in closer to Chigusa and gently kissed her on the lips. She smiled and said, "Thank..."

Before she could finish, she passed away."Chigusa..." Hiroki stayed by her side.. alone in silence.
