AN: THANKS FOR ALL THE REVIEWS!!
DALLY'S POV
It's now been a whole month since Sylvia left me Delilah. A whole month of waking up at three o'clock. A whole month of changing dippers. A whole fuckin' month of not getting pissed faced drunk. I miss all the chicks and the beer but I know if Delilah was takin' away from me I'd be lost.
It was two days before Halloween, Dalilah's first holiday. The guys have been bugging me to no end about getting her all dressed up and taking her out. I say she's six months old and won't remember any of this so why do it? In the end, I cave in.
For a reason unknown to me, I brought Two-bit with me. We were at the mall and Two-bit was not only looking for a costume for Delilah, he was also looking for one for himself. You think at almost the age of twenty he'd mature some. Not a chance.
"What do you think about this one?" Two-bit asked as he held up a butterfly costume.
"For Delilah or for youself?" I asked.
Two-bit rolled his eyes. "For her." He said pointing to the little girl in my arms.
I looked down the ales at all the costumes. There were tons of pumpkin constumes for babies but almost every parent dresses their kid up as that when they're babies. Besides, I hate pumpkin.
"Found another!" Two-bit called as he held up a Mickey Mouse costume. "Now if only I could find my size!"
I rolled my eyes. "God, I hope you don't."
Delilah was chatting to me as she held onto my shirt as I held her with one hand. I picked up a costume in the back that was pink. Maybe this will be good. I thought as I pulled it off the rack. It ended up being a giant ham. Who the hell dresses their kid up as a ham?
"Oh my gosh! Do they have that in my size?" Two-bit asked as he took the costume out of my hands.
Appearently Two-bit.
I walked down the next ale and hoped that there would be at least one good costume for Delilah.
"Yo Winston!" I turned to see Tim and his brother and sister walking up to me. "What you up to?"
"Some how the guys talked me into dressing her up this year for Halloween. I'm trying to find her a tuff costume but all I see is queer ones." I told them as I herd Two-bit laughing on the other side. "What are y'all doin' here?"
"Tuff." Tim said. "Buck's decided to have a Halloween party where you have to dress up. I ain't dressin' up but these two are." He said pointing to Curly and Angela.
"I still don't see why I have to dress up if you don't have to dress up." Curly muttered under his breath.
"Because I want a good laugh. Be grateful I'm not picking your costume." Tim remarked with a smirk.
I smirked too. It always amused me how he ordered his siblings around like that. The Curtis brothers got along too well and it was nice to see Tim, Curly, and Angela fighting every other day.
"Aw, is this Delilah?" Angel cooed as she walked in front of her brother and looked at my daughter.
"Nahh, this is just some baby I stoll from some radom lady." I told her sarcastically.
She glared at me but smiled at the baby. "You are way too cute to be Dallas baby."
I rolled my eyes. "No kid, if you ever have a baby, let's all pray it looks like the Dad 'cause we don't want another ugly bitch in the world." I told her even though Angela really is good lookin'. She has black curly hair, much like her brothers, except it falls to her mid waist and has dark eyes and skin.
"I bet my kid would be better lookin' than yours!" She yelled at me.
I snorted. "OK."
"Fine, let's make a bet. If mine is prettier lookin' you have to be nice to me forever. Vice versa." She said with a smile on her face. Was I really that mean to her? I just bugged her every chance I got, helped Tim beat up her boy friends, and called her names. Nahh, I wasn't that me to her.
"One problem Sunshine." I told her with a smirk. "You don't have a kid."
"I can have one!" She said stubbornly.
"Not in the next ten years, you will not." Replied Tim protectively to his fourteen year old sister.
She glared at him but knew better than to say anything.
"Find y'all's costumes and hurry up. We don't have all day." Tim said as he looked strickly at his younger siblings.
"You can always leave. We don't need you to be here with us to pick out a damn costume." Curly muttered under his breath lowly but not low enough.
"What was that?" Tim asked in a dangerous voice as he walked up to the fifthteen year old.
"N-Nothing." He replied as he backed up fearfully. The kid will deny it till he's blue in the face but the truth was plane to see, he was terrified of Tim.
"That's what I thought." Tim said as he gave him a dark look. "Say something like a smartass again and I'll kick your ass right here."
Curly just nodded and went back to looking at the costumes, still having a fearful look on his face but trying to cover it up.
I looked at the rack and tried once again to find a costume for Delilah. "I still don't know why they want to dress you up Delilah." I told her. "It's not like you're gonna remember it."
"Why don't you dress her up like a pumpkin?" Angel asked as she looked at some outfits. "That's what most people do."
"I hate pumpkins. They're taste nasty and are orange." I told her.
"So what if they're orange?" Tim asked as he raised a brow.
"It's the ugliest color in the world." I told them as I picked up a fairy costume. Delilah stuck her toung out at it and I laughed. "My thoughts exactly."
"I found one!" Angela said as she held up a slutty bunny outfit to show Tim. I seriously dout that it even went an inch below her butt.
"That you're not going to wear." Tim said as he added on to her sentence.
"Why not!?" She whinned. I pray Delilah isn't like her. One things for sure, she ain't wearing nothing slutty like Angela. She even dare tries and I'll kill her.
"Because you are not going to go around in that! You'll look like a slut." Tim said with his arms crossed.
Angela was wearing a very short miniskirt and a tight ass shirt that barely went down to her stomach. Doesn't she look like a slut already? If not, could have fooled me.
Curly seemed to be thinking the same thing because he opened his mouth but soon shut it once he saw the look Tim was giving him.
"You are so not fair!" She yelled at him. "It's my body and I'll wear what ever the hell I want!"
Bad move. Tim walked up to her until he was towering over her. Angela looked up at him fearfully and tried to back away but there was no where left she could go.
"You will not wear anything that slutty ever in your life time, do I make myself clear?" He asked dangerously.
Angle nodded fearfully.
"Good." He replied as he stepped away from her.
"I'm going to look on the other side." Curly said as he got up. "All these costumes are gay."
"Me too." Angela said quickly and raced to catch up with him.
"Those two never fail to amuse me." Tim said with a smirk.
I smirked. "Times like that I wish I had younger siblings to order around."
Tim laughed. "Count your blessings you don't."
I laughed. "I guess I really should find her a costume soon." I said as I looked down at the sleepy six month old. She had he head resting against my shoulder and arms clinched tightly onto my shirt.
"Yep." He said as he gave a rare smile at her and ruffled her hair. "How come every time I see her she's sleepy?"
"Maybe she just want to go to sleep and get away from you?" I said jokingly.
He push my shoulder and rolled his eyes. "What ever."
"I think I'm gonna get her the dog costume." I said as I held up a blue dog outfit. It was long sleeve and really soft and the leg part were pants and it unzipped in the back. It came with little puppy ears and had a dog tail that connected onto the costume. It had little gloves with tiny claws and little shoes that were like paw prints. This was about as tuff as it was going to get.
"Better than the pumpkin." Tim said as Curly and Angela's yelling filled our ears.
Tim sighed as we made our way over there. Two-bit was still looking for a costume while Angel and Curly were yelling at each other, giving one another death glares.
"What are you two screaming about?" Tim asked in once again, a dangerous voice. Maybe I really was grateful to be the only child.
They both stopped and looked at Tim and remained silent.
"I asked y'all a question." Tim said as he raised a brow.
Yet again they remained silent, niether looking up to meet his gaze.
"If you two don't tell me what y'all were yelling about, I'm gonna beat the shit out of both of you." Tim said in a deadly calm voice.
"You're going to do that any way." Curly muttered.
Tim walked up to him. "Maybe I will, maybe I won't. You want to take the option where you have some chance at walking away without a black eye or do you want me to just go ahead and pound your face in?"
Curly looked at him fearfully. "We just had a disagreement."
He looked at Angela and she nodded. "Just a little arguement."
"That 'little arguement' or 'disagreement' was herd clearly on the next row!" Tim yelled at them. "What were you two arguing about?"
"Nothing." They replied together. I swear Tim was more like their father than brother. Their parents were always fighting and throwing things at one another. Every so often, the Shepard kids would have to get into it with them. Tim was the only one Curly and Angela showed respect to and I dout they'd still be alive if it wasn't for him.
I know one thing's for sure, I will never be anything like Johnny's, mine, or Tim's parents or even like Two-bit's dad who just up and left when things got too tough. I've had enough people leave me in my life time so there was no way I'd ever be able to leave my child.
"You mean you two were screaming about nothing?" Tim yelled at them and Delilah held onto me tighter. I rocked her from side to side and went to stand by Two-bit, watching from a safe distance.
"N-No I mean, uh, y-yes." Curly said fearfully. "I don't know!"
Tim looked over at Angela who was trying to figure out a good enough answer as well. She seemed to be having the same look at Curly though and just looked up at him fearfully.
"Would it help if we said we were sorry?" She asked as she gave a nervous laugh.
Tim smirked and shook his head. "Nope."
Curly and Angela shared a glace before they both bolted down the ale, hoping to out run Tim. Of course that was useless. Tim grabbed both their arms in a painfully firm grip and pulled them to either side of him. They looked fearfully up at him before trying with no avail to get away.
"I'll see you later Dally." Tim said to me as he glared down at his siblings. "I've got some business to settle with these two. See ya Matthews, bye Delilah." He said as he smiled at the almost asleep baby in my arms. He basically dragged Curly and Angela out the door and I was sure glad then that I didn't have any siblings to bother me like that at the moment.
"You find you a costume?" I asked Two-bit.
Two-bit turned his attention to me and grinned. "Yup, I'm going as a cowboy!"
"God, I'm so not going trick or treating with you." I told him. "Come on, let's go to the Dingo."
We went to the Dingo and got lunch but left early since Delilah ended up falling asleep. I sighed as I placed my sleeping daughter in her crib. Could I really protect her from the bad parts of this town? Could I keep her away from the bad croud that I used to be apart of? If I couldn't, I'd die trying.
I wasn't going to be like most of the parents in this town. No, I wasn't going to raise my daughter like I was raised. My parents were always fighting and usually they brought me in the middle of it. If I chose the wrong side, I'd be in trouble. If I chose my mom's side, my dad would beat me. If I chose my dad side, my mom would refuse to cook me anything and made sure I didn't have anything to eat for two days. If I chose niether side, I got both. As you can probably guess, I chose my mom's side the most. After starving for two whole days, I came to the conclusion that I could handle a beating more than I could handle being without food.
I was never going to do that to my daughter. Not now, not ever. No one really knows what all went on in my past and I'd make sure more than anything that Delilah never finds out. It would only hurt her more if she knew and I never want to hurt her.
