A/N: Here is an idea I had for a story… I am not sure if there are others out there like it, but so far I haven’t read them. But, with over 12,000 Twilight fanfics on here, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I hope you enjoy it. Please read and review and let me know what you think!

Chapter 1: Starting Over Again
I have spent the last 67 years married to Edward, as his vampire equal. These have been the best years of my life; every day is just as amazing and exciting as the previous one. We had an amazing wedding, though we did have a few issues with our wedding night.
Edward did a great job keeping his control, as usual. I, however, didn’t. I moved a little too soon and fast, and tempted him too much. It took me awhile, but I convinced him to try again. That time, it was perfect.
I decided I didn’t really want to go on a honeymoon; I really just wanted to be changed. I was ready to spend my life with him, as his equal. He, however, insisted on it. After a few days in Greece, we returned home. Two days later, I said my final goodbyes to Charlie, Renee and Phil and we moved to Alaska. We lived near the Denali coven so they could help with me as a newborn should we need it.
Edward wouldn’t let me out of his sight, not that I minded. Even Jasper and Emmett made sure that I was never fully alone. It annoyed me for awhile, but when I had a close call with a human, I was glad for it.
Jasper and I have gotten a lot closer since I was changed; he no longer has to worry about hurting me. I also have a similar power as him; I can’t feel people’s emotions in the same way as him, but I pick up on things much more easily. Edward always did say I was much more perceptive than he gave me credit for, and it certainly carried over.
I pick up on little things that people do; I can interpret their gestures, emotions and reactions and be able to figure out what they are thinking as a result. It helps Jasper to know that someone else can figure that stuff out too. I have to be around the person for it to work, however, so I do get more peace than he does.
I have had some close calls, but luckily my family has restrained me from ever hurting a human. My record currently is spotless, much to the dismay of my brothers. Jasper and Emmett, of course, had bet on how much I would mess up in my first year- I surprised both of them. They then prolonged it to further years, but still, I ruined their bets.
After about 12 years, however, I was in control enough to start being around humans again. We slowly acclimated me back to them, and after a few more years I was able to start going back to school. I wasn’t terribly excited about that prospect, but it did make it easier for our family to fit in. Plus, Carlisle made Edward return to school much sooner than me and the days without him were lonely.
It has been an amazing 67 years, however. Every day at dawn, Edward reminds me how much he loves me, how beautiful he thinks I am, and how glad he is that he still has me in his life. It really is a great way to start each day.
We just moved again, after some locals got suspicious of us. It wasn’t so much that they thought we weren’t human, they just figured something had to be going on for Carlisle and Esme to have so many ‘adopted’ kids, and for all the kids to be paired off.
So, now we are in a small town in northern California, about to start at a new school. We are going with the story that Edward was adopted first when his parents died, then Rosalie and Jasper Hale, then me and Emmett, who are siblings (despite the enormous size difference), and then Alice. Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett are all starting as seniors, with the rest of us as juniors.
I was getting ready for school when I heard a soft knock on the bathroom door. I turned to see my angel standing there, shirtless. Even after several decades, he still took my breath away.
“Good morning, my love,” Edward said as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me to him.
“Good morning to you, too,” I said, standing on my tip-toes to kiss him.
“I love you,” he said as he returned the kiss.
“I love you too.”
“You are so beautiful, especially in that outfit. You put goddesses to shame,” he said, as he kissed my neck.
I leaned my head to the side, allowing him better access as I put my hands on his perfectly sculpted chest.
“I am the luckiest man on the planet, because you are mine. I am so glad that after all these years, I still have you.” He was now kissing along my collarbones.
“Edward,” I said, knowing where this would lead.
“Mmmhmm?”
“We can’t right now. We need to leave for school in about 20 minutes.”
“And?” He asked, trying to seduce me with his liquid topaz eyes.
“And you know that if I wrinkle this outfit, Alice will have both our necks.”
He chuckled, before kissing my lips.
“As you wish. But after school, you owe me,” he said as he headed back out to our room.
I couldn’t help but smile as I finished doing my hair. I headed out to the room and grabbed some shoes before heading downstairs where my family was waiting. Esme hugged each of us as we headed out the door to our cars.
Edward helped me into his latest Volvo, with Jasper and Alice climbing into the back. Rosalie and Emmett took her latest BMW convertible. This one, at least, was dark blue instead of bright red, allowing us to blend slightly better.
When we got to the school, our cars stood out. It reminded me of all those years ago at Forks High, where Edward’s Volvo was the nicest car on the lot. I smiled, remembering my remarks about him being a ‘stupid, shiny Volvo owner.’
As expected, all the students stared at us as we climbed out of the cars and headed to front office to get our schedules. Edward let out a few quiet growls, and I knew people were talking about me. It didn’t take us long to find the office, where an elderly lady was sorting some papers.
Her eyes got a little wider as she looked at all of us, and a smile played at my lips as I watched her movements. I could tell that she was surprised at the size of Emmett, and intimated by Rosalie. I could also tell that she was having some X-Rated thoughts about Jasper and Edward. Smiling, I pressed my body closer against Edward.
“We are the Cullens, McCartys, and the Hales.” Alice said, a huge smile on her face.
“Ahh yes. Let me see, alright here is a map of the school for each of you, along with your schedules. Your teachers should already have you on the roll, but if not, just come back here after school and I will straighten it out. Would you like someone to show you around?”
“No thanks, we can manage ourselves.” Alice said happily as she passed out our schedules.
“Alright then. Have a great first day!” She said in a fake cheery voice as she went back to what she was doing before we came in. I noticed she was still giving what she thought was subtle glances at the backside of Edward and Jasper. Smiling, I lowered my hand on Edward’s back, getting closer to his butt. He cocked an eyebrow at me, before realizing my intention and smiling at me.
“We all have lunch together, of course. And we are all in the same gym class,” Alice said as she looked over all our schedules.
I had Latin first period along with Jasper. The rest of my ‘siblings’ were signed up for French or German. Second period I had English with Edward, followed by history with Alice and Edward, and fourth period gym, then lunch. I then had sixth period government by myself, then I ended my day with biology, again with Alice.
We made our way to the foreign language area, ignoring the looks of the students. Edward kept a firm grip on my waist, leading the way. He kissed me before Jasper and I headed into our classroom. There were only a few students there already, much to my relief. We made our way over to the teacher, who was a woman who looked to be in her forties, who seemed a little extravagant.
“You must be Bella and Jasper,” she said when we get to the desk.
I nodded.
“Yes ma’am,” Jasper said with his Southern drawl. I could tell she was fighting the urge to swoon, and forced back a smile.
“Well, welcome to the class. Here are your books, and you can sit anywhere .”
Jasper nodded, grabbing our books and heading to the back of the classroom. We sat down next to each other, talking quietly to each other, knowing no one else would hear us.
“She wants you so bad,” I said, my voice smug.
He groaned. “Yeah, I know. The lust coming off her made me sick. She is still giving me side glances, and I can still feel the lust.”
I fought back a laugh. “Yeah, I can tell. She is caught between knowing she shouldn’t be thinking of a student that way to wanting to break all the rules with you. What would your wife think?”
I smiled at him, receiving a low growl in response.
By this time, more students were filing into the classroom. Of course they were staring at us, and one girl even tripped over her friend who stopped because she was so caught up staring at us. As always, we acted like we were oblivious.
Class was about to start when a girl who was a few inches taller than me came in, and tripped over the air as she made her way to her seat. I saw Jasper stifle a laugh, and glared at him.
“She reminds me of your human self,” he said quietly, still trying not to laugh audibly.
“Oh hush,” I said, feeling for the girl. She blushed bright red as she gathered her stuff and made her way to her seat. It really did remind me of my former self. I could tell that she wished she could disappear, and she didn’t even take note of the 2 new students sitting in the back of the room.
Once she took her seat, the teacher stood up from her desk.
“Class, we have two new students joining our class, Jasper Hale and Bella McCarty.”
Everyone took that as an opportunity to stare openly at us, and I knew I would be blushing if I was still human. I noticed that the girl who had tripped had glanced at us, but wasn’t gawking at us like everyone else.
“Would you two mind telling the class a little about yourselves?”
I internally groaned as Jasper and I stood up.
“My name is Jasper, and I am a senior this year. My sister Bella is a junior. We just moved here with our family, our father is the new doctor.”
“If you are siblings, why do you have different names?” One girl in the front asked. She was the typical valley girl, who thought she was better than everyone else.
“We are adopted, along with the rest of our siblings.”
“How many of you are there?”
“6,” I said, noticing just how many glossy eyes, both male and female, were staring at Jasper. I could tell that he was altering their emotions and gave him a quick glare.
There were a few murmurs, before I quietly told Jasper to make the teacher feel discomfort. It worked; she felt like she could sense our discomfort and let us take our seats.
The rest of the class was rather boring; Jasper and I both were fluent in Latin. We surprised the teacher and the class each time we were called on, or when we could answer the questions none of the other students could. Finally, the bell rang and we headed out the door.
Edward, of course, was already waiting for me. He pulled me into a kiss before I even got fully out of the classroom, and I could tell the other students were either jealous or disgusted. I soon pulled away and twined our fingers together.
“Ready for English, love?” Edward asked as we headed down the hall.
“I suppose,” I said, as I walked hand in hand with my husband to class. We found the room easily and walked up to the teacher. It was a man who looked to be in his early thirties, who was not shy about looking me up and down. I felt Edward tense, and rubbed circles on the back of his hand with my thumb.
“And what can I do for you?” The teacher asked, ignoring Edward.
“I am Edward Cullen, and this is Bella McCarty. We are new here,” Edward said, a slight edge in his otherwise velvet voice.
The teacher snapped out of his trance, and smiled at Edward.
“Of course. Welcome, I am Mr. Perales.” He said as he headed to his desk. He pulled out some papers from a file cabinet and handed them to us.
“Here is a copy of the book list you will need, along with my classroom policies. Bella, you can sit in the second seat in the first row, and Edward, you can sit in the third seat in the fourth row.”
“If you don’t mind, sir, Bella here sometimes has trouble staying focused and it would really help if I was near her to help keep her on track. She also does better if she can sit further in the back,” Edward said, his voice perfectly smooth.
Mr. Perales looked at me, and I gave a shy looking smile and nod of my head.
“Oh, well, alright. Edward, you can take the seat I told you and Bella, sit on either side of him.”
Satisfied, Edward took the papers from his hand and led me to our seats. He was still tensed, and I could tell he was angry.
As we usually did, I tore out a piece of paper and wrote a note to him. We could talk without anyone hearing us, but it always took us back to the first days of our love when we passed notes.
I love you. Are you alright?
I love you too.
Are you alright?
No. He shouldn’t be thinking what he is.
I know. I can feel the lust coming off him, and his actions have told me what he would like to do. I know why he wanted me in front and you in back.
He is a teacher. And you are my wife. It isn’t right.
I know. But I love you, so you don’t have to worry. I only have the hots for you.
I saw him chuckle as he read the last part, and he gave a half smile.
And I for you my love.
I smiled, and pretended to pay attention. Unfortunately, Mr. Perales tended to call on me a lot more than he should have. It was getting annoying, and I knew it wasn’t helping Edward calm down. Finally, the bell rang and Edward swiftly grabbed both our bags and led me out the door, making sure to block Mr. Perales’ view of me.
Once we got outside, Edward was finally able to relax.
“Are you alright?” I asked again, knowing he spent a good part of English having to listen to Mr. Perales’ inappropriate thoughts of me.
“Yes,” he said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. I put my hand on his cheek, and smiled up at him.
“I love you,” I said, trying to fully calm him.
“I love you too,” he said as he kissed me.
We headed to history, where we found a bouncy Alice waiting for us outside the room. The three of us walked in, finding a female in her twenties to be our teacher. Great, I thought, now I get to go through what Edward just did. As soon as the teacher caught sight of Edward, a lustful glint came into her eye.
I noticed the sway of her hips, and the way she held her shoulders back in an effort to show off her chest better. It was things that most people, and most vampires, weren’t likely to notice. I, however, did. I rolled my eyes and pressed myself against Edward more.
“Hello, I am Bella McCarty, and this is Edward and Alice Cullen. We are new here.”
The teacher looked annoyed as she pulled her gaze from Edward and looked at me. She smiled at me, before smiling at Alice as well.
“I am Mrs. Cahill. I look forward to getting to know all three of you. Go ahead and grab some seats in the back, those are the only open ones.”
I nodded and we made our way to the back. Of course the students stared as we went. I sat in between them, and gave a smirk to Edward.
“She is so much worse than Mr. Perales,” I said to Edward.
“Yes, I realize,” he said, his voice annoyed.
I laughed, but looked ahead as Mrs. Cahill called the class to order.
She kept glancing at Edward throughout the class, and I was very glad when the bell finally rang. We got up and headed to gym, where we met up with our siblings. The teacher, Coach Charles, didn’t make us dress down for the class. We sat on the bleachers, talking with each other, while we ‘observed’ the other students playing volleyball.
We headed to lunch next, getting food that we weren’t going to eat. We found a table in the back of the cafeteria, away from everyone else. We sat down, talking with each other while taking in everything around us.
Luckily, none of the students tried to come over and talk to us that first day. They were all too intimidated by us, and we were all obviously coupled off.
Edward walked me to government, gave me a kiss and headed to his biology class. I sighed, knowing that I wouldn’t see him for the last two periods. At least I had Alice in my next class.
I walked up to the teacher, who was a man in his fifties, and introduced myself. He seemed flustered at first, but quickly covered it up and didn’t seem to take much notice of my appearance after that. He sat me in the dead center of the room, however, allowing all the students to gawk at me the entire classroom.
I could sense one boy getting the courage up to come talk to me after class, but as soon as the bell rang I grabbed my stuff and headed out of there, barely keeping human pace.
I headed to the biology room, expecting to see Edward there. I was a little surprised that I didn’t see him, nor did I see him on his way to the class I had just come from. I waited outside for Alice, wondering what was taking her so long. Her class was closer than mine.
Soon, she joined me but she had a worried look on her face. I tried to interpret her expressions and reactions, but she was guarding herself from me. She didn’t even make eye contact as she headed into the classroom. We went up to the teacher, who was a man in his forties, and I introduced us. Alice didn’t say anything, just followed me to a desk in the back that we were going to share. I was relieved that we would be lab partners.
Once the class started, I tried to get Alice’s attention. She was working overtime to shield herself from me. I could tell she was scared about something. Eventually, I wrote a note to her.
What happened?
She looked at it, shook her head, and didn’t reply.
Alice, tell me. I tried again.
Don’t worry about it.
I let out a frustrated sigh. She glanced at me, and I could see it in her eyes. It was about Edward, and it was bad.
What is wrong with Edward?
Nothing.
You are lying, Alice. You know you can’t hide it from me.
Leave me alone right now.
I stared at her, a little shocked. This was not like her.
Something was wrong with Edward, and she wouldn’t tell me. I closed my eyes, and tried to think about other things while the clock ticked away. It couldn’t be too horrible if we were still sitting in class, I tried to reason with myself. I knew that wasn’t true, but it was the only thing keeping me from bolting out of the room.
Finally, the bell rang. Ignoring Alice, I grabbed my bag and raced out the door. I flew to the parking lot, shock registering on my face when I saw Edward’s Volvo was gone.
Immediately, I knew something was very, very wrong.
