The Mystery Notice

By EdElricRules

A/N: This story does have a purpose.

Blue eyes scanned the area, lines creased the owner’s forehead, the howling wind reached his ears, the bitter cold wind hitting his face, making him shiver slightly and finally he felt a small frown settle upon his pale red lips.

The man was at least 6 foot, with a small build, his short blonde hair settling just below his ears. The man was wearing a moss green trench coat with dark brown pants and a light green shirt lay hidden, covered by the trench coat, which kept the man quite warm. The man lifted a gloved hand and pushed his thin-rimed glasses, slightly, so they sat comfortably on his nose but also allowed him see without any problems.

The man sighed softly to himself, and then began trudging through the white snow, his black boots sinking slightly with each step.

I hope Kenji is right about their help being useful…or we’re stuffed.’

The man continued his journey with this single thought until he came to a small cottage. The cottage itself was simple but beautiful it was painted a gentle blue with yellow roses blooming around the pillars and railing of the porch, the house was a two-storey house, as well as the yellow roses there were red, pink and amazingly enough purple, these roses were in bushes and some covered the ground with their petals and when the roaring wind blew across the small front yard the petals were lifted up and they formed a performance of multi-coloured swirls and patterns.

The man approached the wooden blue door and seized the brass handle, which was shaped like a wolves’ paw, and rapped it three times, then waited for someone to answer the door.

I hope one of them let me in, I might freeze to death if they don’t’ mused the man.

The man just happen to know that three people inhabited the small but elegant cottage, the man also knew that the only male owned the only vet in the small country, the second oldest, a female, was a champion tennis player while the youngest, also female, was a master at the art of swordsmanship. The man also knew that the three were triplets and those three were all 30, two years younger than him, he also knew that they could be extremely stubborn when they wanted too.

After three seconds of quiet musing, the door opened revealing a young male with short black hair, which reach just above his shoulders, and surprised hazel eyes. The young man was at least a head shorter than the man but seemed more built than the man, after a moment the surprise left the young man’s eyes and suddenly the man met a pricing glance and matched that glance with a questioning one.

“Are you going to let me in, Paul, or am I going to freeze to death?” asked the man, a small grin tugging at his lips.

Paul smiled and moved aside to let the man in. Wanting to get out of the cold weather as soon as possible, the man rushed inside. Shaking the access snow out of his blonde hair, turned and faced Paul.

Paul chuckled at the man’s antics but motioned the man to follow him none the less, in which the man obliged. Paul led the man to a sitting room were two identical women were sitting in different coloured chairs. They had been discussing matters of interest when Paul and the man had entered now their jaws had dropped and their eyes were wide with surprise. The woman that had been sitting in the pink armchair, jumped to her feet and glared at the man. The other woman, who had been sitting in the purple armchair, followed her sister’s actions, the man shrunk back from the heated glares he was receiving.

Though I do deserve this I suppose’ the man thought wearily.

Paul coughed.

“Lilly, Ellie sit down. I’m sure he has a good reason to be here”

Lilly, the one who had been in the pink armchair had semi-short black hair, which reached just above her shoulders and hazel eyes. She was wearing a pale pink shirt with hot pink pants; her boots were a mixture of the two colours. She shot the man one last glare then sat down, her arms crossed, her lips in a small pout, apparently she didn’t like being told what to do.

Ellie was still standing; she had dropped her glare and replaced it with a simple questioning glance. Ellie had waist-length black hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing dark violent purple shirt with electric blue cargo pants along with black boots. She lifted an eyebrow and then sat down.

Paul walked towards his red armchair and sat down, but before sitting down he motioned the man to sit in the green one, which the man obliged to. Paul was wearing a pale red shirt along with black boots and dark red cargo pants. Paul and his younger sisters all fixed the man with questioning glances. The man sighed, wringing his gloved fingers together, hoping they would listen to his reason of being here.

“Come on Negi, hurry up and say what’s on ya mind will ya, we don’t hav’ all day ya know” said Lilly impatiently.

Negi chuckled nervously.

“I’m here ‘cause Kenji sent me here, hav’ ya got a letter or notice in ya mail lately? ‘Cause that’s tha problem. And I’m a wondering if ya and the rest of tha family can ‘elp us with tha problem”

Ellie smiled.

“Yea’ we’ve got tha letter ya talkin’ about, I anit about to get it for ya, we’ll ‘elp ya ‘cause ya family and family stick together”

Paul and Lilly nodded in agreement.

“Why our ‘elp? Ya and Ji haven’t figured it out yet or something?” piped up Lilly, confusion was clearly in her hazel eyes. (1)

“Yea’ me and Ji haven’t figured tha damn thing out yet”

Three jaws dropped.

“Wha’ ya and Ji haven’t figured it out that be impossible ya and Ji are the smartest of us all” spluttered Paul.

Lilly and Ellie were nodding furiously in agreement.

“I anit an genius ya know and either is Kenji, that be why we need ya all’s ‘elp”

All three siblings’ stood up and marched into their rooms, the sound of three doors slamming could be heard throughout the house. Negi sighed in deafeat.

It was worth a shot’

Negi stood and began walking towards the door when a firm hand grabbed his shoulder.

“Where do ya think ya goin’ huh?” said Paul’s soft understanding voice.

“Back to Central to figure out this mess”

“We’re comin’ with ya”

“Wha’?”

“Ya heard me, we’re comin’ with ya, didn’t ya hear Ellie, ya family and family don’t leave family stranded in their time of need”

Negi turned and smiled at his younger brother.

“Thanks”

(Break)

“Your back Colonel Wolf” said the man to be Kenji.

“Yes sir” said Negi, with a firm salute.

“Not in uniform?”

“You said to go casual and we didn’t have any time to stop and change sir”

“Very well, who did you able to get help from?”

“Everyone sir”

“Good, now we might be able to solve this mystery, go into the investigation room with and Major Colonel Hughes will be there waiting, is that understood?”

“Yes sir!”

Negi saluted his older brother and left for the investigation room with the rest of his family.

I just hope Maes isn’t too surprise’

(Break)

“You didn’t say you had eight other siblings” exclaimed a very surprised Maes Hughes.

Negi rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

“Well you didn’t ask”

Hughes rolled his eyes.

“So who is who” asked Hughes.

Negi groaned. He hated this part.

“Okay going by eldest to youngest…the three with black hair and hazel eyes are Paul, Lilly and Ellie,” they waved “and then the two with blonde hair and pink eyes are Maria and Sofia,” they waved “then there is the one with blue hair and red contacts who is Heim and his twin sister who has brown eyes and brown hair who is Krystal” they nodded. “And finally there is the one with golden-blonde hair and electric blue eyes who is the youngest Eve.” She smiled. Negi took a breath. “Got all that Hughes?”

Hughes nodded, stunned at the mass of Negi and Kenji’s family.

“So there are twelve of you?” asked Hughes. “Including your parents I mean”

Negi nodded.

“Should you two be working?” barked Kenji, appearing in the doorway.

Kenji was wearing the official military uniform. He also had a pair of slim-framed glasses placed nicely on his nose.

“Bridger General Wolf” saluted Hughes and Negi.

“At ease, now get to work” barked Kenji.

Eve glared at her elder brother. She never did like fighting or ordering people around.

“Kenji, stop yelling and get your ass down from your almighty pedestal”

All Wolf children turned and stared at their youngest sibling, she never yelled or raised her voice at anyone, but by the tone of her voice she was pissed and not happy at all. Kenji look more shocked then anyone, the only person to speak up to him was their mother, Emily Wolf, and when someone else stood up to him it meant trouble.

“Don’t speak to me like that, little sister!” growled Kenji, clearly not happy.

“I’ll talk to you however I want you asshole!” shouted Eve.

“Eve I think you should calm down” insisted Negi.

“I will not calm down, not until Kenji realises he isn’t god!!” screeched Eve.

Hughes coughed, hoping to break the icy atmosphere that had settled itself around the room.

“I think we all need to calm down and work on this note and after we do that you two can fight like all siblings do.”

(Break)

Negi looked at the note or, to be more specific, the notice that lay on the table.

Attention Fellow Fan Fiction Writers!!

I come requesting a request that request being: Would anyone like to be my full-time beta?

My fanfiction ‘The Eve of Havoc’ is already being beta-ed by Havoc’s Honey but other than that all my other fanfictions have not been beta-ed and I would like to know if anyone would like to beta my fanfictions?

If you think you’d like to please either review one of my fanfictions or PM me!

From a very hopeful

Chibi-Sheska (2)

When Negi had first seen this notice it had stumped him and his brother, but to find that everyone in Amestris had gotten it was scary. Was it a terrorist plot and what was ‘The Eve of Havoc’ and who was Havoc’s Honey? There were so many questions and yet so little answers…that was when Kenji had suggested that they get outside, non-military, help and that was when the rest of Negi’s family came in. Hopefully one of them could figure it out or they were all doomed by Chibi-Sheska’s hands. What kind of name was Chibi-Sheska anyways?

“Fiction? Maybe it is some sort of writing group?” suggested Eve.

“Pfft, as if Eve, its gotta be a terrorist group” argued Kenji.

“Maybe you two should go out for a second” suggested Hughes.

They left. Their verbal fight could be heard throughout all of Central Headquarters. Negi, and the rest of his siblings, groaned if Eve believed in something she wouldn’t stop until that belief was realised and Kenji was just as stubborn and didn’t like being insulted. They would be at it for hours if Negi and the rest didn’t figure out what the note was about and fast.

The door was slammed open and…Eve and Kenji came marching in followed by three more people. They were all male, two of them looked around Negi’s age and the other looked like a stereotypic teenager, moody.

“Who are they?” questioned Maria.

“I don’t know” grumbled Eve.

Apparently Hughes did…

“Hey! Roy, Havoc, Ed”

Negi turned his attention towards the males that Hughes had addressed. The first man, Negi noted, had black hair and black eyes to match. He was wearing the official military uniform with a silver chain shining proudly out of his left pocket. Negi also noticed that his rank was colonel.

So he’s a state alchemist then?’ thought Negi.

Negi scanned the next person, which happened to be standing next to Roy. This person had blonde hair but a darker blonde, nearly brown, underneath the sandy blonde, he was also wearing the official military blue uniform, he was also, Negi was stunned by this, a second lieutenant, his calm blue eyes seemed to show more, just a bit but still they held knowledge and they also seemed slightly interested in Eve, a frown found itself upon Negi’s lips. Other than that small detail he seemed like a normal soldier.

Lastly Negi spotted the teenager staring grumpily at the black wall. The teenager had golden hair with, unusual, molten gold eyes to match. Unlike the first two men, this young teenager was wearing a red coat with a black jacket, and Negi assumed a black or red shirt underneath, the boy also had heavy black boots on, but what shocked Negi more was that he had a silver chain clipped proudly in a strap of his brown belt. The boy looked no older than fourteen and he was a state alchemist that was amazing, no it was impossible unless this boy was famous he had to be…

“The Fullmetal Alchemist” squealed Ellie.

Fullmetal blinked in surprise and then tumbled as he had excess weight now hugging him to death.

“Your me fave alchemist, mister Fullmetal sir” rambled Ellie, as she hugged.

“Um, thanks for the praise and all but could you please stop hugging me, I’m losing my air to breath” muttered Fullmetal quietly.

“Oh of course, mister Fullmetal sir”

Fullmetal was released from his hug of death and Ellie went back to her corner but she now had the sparkle in her eye. Negi knew that sparkle well, as he had that sparkle every time he thought he had a way to beat his mother at a sport.

The two other men were snickering quietly. Until the colonel spoke up.

“Fullmetal, I hope she didn’t crush you upon her impact on your small body?”

Fullmetal’s golden eyes flashed.

“WHO YOU CALLING SO SMALL THAT HE WOULD BE CRUSHED BY A CRAZED FANGIRL!!!”

“Ed, Roy wasn’t implying that!” reasoned Hughes; he looked at Havoc “Right Havoc?”

“Yeah, he wasn’t implying that at all…or maybe he was?”

Hughes shot Havoc a warning glace.

“I mean he wasn’t at all, after I’d rather be vertically challenged than useless in the rain” hastily replied Havoc.

Roy’s jaw drop at the comment on being useless in the rain but Ed smirked upon hearing that and instantly forgot the short comment. Negi just stared at the conversation in confusion.

“Can we get back to the letter?” asked Paul, trying to steer the conversation away from the three newcomers.

“Of course”

(Break)

Negi fumed in annoyance, they were getting nowhere and Ed was now currently talking about animal care with Paul. Roy was flirting with one of his sisters, which infuriated him because they flirted back! Eve was the only one not flirting with Roy; no she was flirting with Havoc!!

“Garr” yelled Negi finally, in utter frustration.

“What’s got you so worked up Negi?” questioned Ed.

“This stupid notice and all the damn flirting and discussion of other things damn it!!”

“Oh that? I figured it out ages ago” stated Ed bluntly.

Thirteen heads whipped around and stared, some glared, at Ed.

“WHAT!!!” screeched Negi and Kenji.

Ed rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

“Yeah, it’s an online writing community; people write about things that strike their interest like um…a certain book or something like that, using the characters and making the characters do stuff in the person’s own plot of idea? If that make’s any sense, Chibi-Sheska is probably just one of these writers?”

Silence engulfed the room.

“HA I WAS RIGHT!!!”
