Baby-Sitters Club belongs to Ann M. Martin
--
I was feeling really nervous about what I could say to Logan. After I had my lunch, I walked down to Logan’s and rang the doorbell.
Logan answered the door and said, “Oh, hi, Mary Anne.”
“We really need to talk and you better listen this time or my dad will come to make you listen.” I said. “And I meant this time.”
“Fine. What it is?” Logan asked.
“We can talk outside.” I said.
“Um, ok.” Logan said. “Mom, Mary Anne and I are going to take a walk.”
“Ok, dear.” Mrs. Bruno called from the kitchen.
While we were walking, I started to talk to Logan.
“What you should know is that Bob and I are just friends. Maybe if D.J. didn’t tell you that I liked Bob better than, this wouldn’t happen because that’s not even true. That was his plan to get you to break with me. Bob understood that I already got you. He already left for home he took eleven am flight. This locket is a friendship one.” I said showing it to him. “I put both of your picture and Bob’s picture in it.”
“Oh.” Logan said.
“Oh?” I asked. “I enjoy seeing Bob, too since he’s a good friend even though he can be a pain sometimes like he got me and the girls leave the house while I was having the sleepover while my dad was at the meeting. At first, he wasn’t too happy when he got home because no one answered the phone.”
I told Logan what Bob said to lie to my dad.
“Gosh, he must if got mad at Bob.” Logan said.
“He didn’t know until I told my dad.” I said. “He wasn’t mad at me though. Bob already left for home when I told Dad. He said it wasn’t my fault and knew I was growing up, so whenever I get sleepovers, we can leave the house as long we leave a note.”
“Wow.” Logan said. “I also want to apologize about not listening to you and accusing you.”
“Thanks. My dad talked to Mrs. Willis the other day and D.J. got punished for two
weeks. I felt better. Mrs. Willis didn’t know it’s hard for me to speak for myself that’s why my dad told her for me.” I said.
“That’s good.” Logan said putting his arm around me. “So can you forgive me and forget about this?”
“Are you going to promise not to do it again? You wouldn’t like it if I accuse you.” I said.
“I promise.” Logan replied.
I smiled as I hugged him. At least, I finally got Logan to listen. Then we were spotted by D.J.
“Look, I’m sorry that I broke you up.” D.J. said.
“Well, he accuse because of you. Bob understands that I got Logan.” I replied.
“Let’s get to next door to hang out for a while.” Logan said.
“Ok.” I said.
At my house, we were on the porch on the swing chair while having some lemonade that my dad made. I was happy that I got Logan back. That night, I had a call from Bob.
“I’m sorry that I lied to your dad.” Bob said.
“He wasn’t too happy when I told him when you lied to him. That wasn’t very nice.” I said. “You should say that to him, not me. He’d be mad at you not me.”
“Fine. Is he there so I can say it to him?” Bob asked.
“Sure.” I said as I came downstairs to my dad. “Bob has something to say to you.”
“Oh, ok.” My dad said as I gave him the phone.
“I’m sorry that I lied to you.” Bob said.
“Thank you for saying it. Don’t ever lie to me again.” My dad said.
“I won’t.” Bob promised.
After dinner, I decided to call Kristy and she answered.
“Hello?” Kristy asked.
“Hi, Kristy.” I said.
“Well, hello, Miss Spier.” Kristy said as we giggled. “What’s up?”
“Nothing much.” I said as I told her everything about I got Logan back.
“That’s great.” Kristy said.
“I know I’m glad Logan apologized that he accused me and not listening to me. I got him to promise not to do that again.” I said.
“Good. You don’t deserve that from him.” Kristy said.
“I agree with you. I told him he wouldn’t like it if I accuse him for something he didn’t do.” I said.
“That’s right.” Kristy said.
I love telling Kristy about everything. After we talked, Dawn came home from baby-sitting Charlotte.
“Well, looks like someone’s tired out tonight.” I joked.
“Yeah.” Dawn said.
Then I told her about how I got Logan back. She was happy for me.
