“I really do hate that move,” said Naruto as he watched his fireball go through the air where no one was standing, but to the trained eye, a small cloud of smoke close to the ground could be seen.
Naruto didn’t get to complain further when he sensed someone behind him and instantly ducked down to avoid a kick that would have definitely caused him some damage. While on the ground he quickly spun around and hoped to sweep the legs out of his opponent, but they jumped into the air and started to come back down with a powerful heel kick with the intent to crack his skull.
“Damn, that would have hurt,” said Naruto as he rolled out of the way before quickly doing a couple back flips then landing in a defensive stance.
“Argh,” groaned Naruto as he turned his body quickly and used his arms to block the punch from his second opponent.
“Not bad Naruto, but you need to keep focused,” said Sub Zero before blurring out of existence and Naruto’s eyes widened as the person behind Sub Zero nailed him with a perfect upper cut that sent him sailing into the air. Before he could react, his third opponent appeared above him and delivered a powerful kick to his stomach that sent him rocketing to the ground where he created a small crater.
“He is getting better,” said Sub Zero as three fireballs came out of the smoke before it cleared and forced the three warriors to separate.
“Too slow Mr. Freeze,” said Naruto from behind the man before delivering a kick at his back, but Sub Zero turned around in a blink of an eye and caught Naruto’s foot. The boy just smirked, before bending backwards and hitting Sub Zero in the chin with his other foot, which sent the man sailing up into the air.
He didn’t get time to celebrate his victory when he ducked down and a fist sailed over the place where his head had just been. Naruto quickly grabbed the arm and spun around rapidly before throwing his opponent in the spot where his third opponent was planning to appear in. The two warriors collided with each other and Naruto just got back into his fighting stance as he tried to control his heavy breathing.
“Smoke, Cyrax, that will be enough for today,” said Sub Zero as he appeared in front of Naruto.
“Hai,” replied the two cyborgs with a nod of their heads.
“You are doing well Naruto, but you still need to improve your physical strength,” said Sub Zero.
“I would hit a lot harder if I didn’t have these damn weights on my ankles and wrists,” said Naruto with a glare.
“Those weights are meant to help with your strength and speed, though the later probably isn’t necessary since you are already unnaturally fast for someone your age,” said Sub Zero.
“Yeah, one day I will be the fastest thing alive in all the realms,” said Naruto with a smirk.
“Only if you continue to wear the weights and upping the amount when you become used to them,” said Sub Zero firmly.
“Fine, I’ll do it, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it,” said Naruto with a huff. Sub Zero shook his head at the boy before mentally chanting that freezing the child of prophecy was not acceptable.
“Hey can we go see Frosty-chan, it has been like a year since I have seen him,” said Naruto hopefully.
“Actually, it has been two years,” corrected Sub Zero.
“More reason to go pay him a visit along with grandma and nurse-chan,” said Naruto cheerfully.
“If only to shut you up, I will allow it,” said Sub Zero as he started to form a headache.
“Woot,” cheered Naruto as he pumped his fist into the air. Sub Zero was about to say something more, but his eyes widened in horror when a portal appeared next to Naruto and before the boy could defend himself, he was sucked inside.
“Naruto!” yelled Sub Zero, but already knew it was too late and slammed his fists on the ground. He would have to hurry and contact Raidon before something truly horrible happened to the boy.
Outer World
“Ugh, now that was damn annoying,” groaned Naruto as he rubbed his head. He looked up to see he the portal that he was sucked into was disappearing and would be completely gone before he could get to it.
“Mr. Freeze is not going to like this,” said Naruto sheepishly before taking in his surroundings. The sight that greeted him was not a pretty one because everyone he looked there was barren destroyed land and even the skies were permanently black with lightning crackling every few seconds.
“This must be Out World, but why the hell did I get dragged here?” wondered Naruto with a slight frown. He would have stuck around and thought about it, but he heard several voices and turned around to see a group of men wielding some funny looking swords.
“Oh this can’t be good,” mumbled Naruto, as they looked right in his direction and started to run at him.
‘Hehe, I guess the only good thing about being here is that I can fight to my heart’s content,’ thought Naruto as a large grin started to form on his face before he engaged the men in a battle.
Out Word Emperor
“My Lord, we bring you some interesting news,” said one of the soldiers as he kneeled before Shinnok.
“It better be important since you are interrupting my meditation,” said Shinnok through narrowed eyes.
“Forgive me my lord, but a portal just opened in Out World from the Earth Realm and it seems someone has landed amongst our realm. It appears to be a warrior because he has already managed to beat a dozen of my men,” said the soldier.
“A warrior from Earth Realm? In what parts of Out World did he land?” asked Shinnok curiously.
“He landed in the lands of the exiled ones and interrupted our search of the last child of their clan,” said the soldier.
“Hn, fine this warrior right away and kill him before he manages to join forces with the remaining last exile,” growled Shinnok angrily.
“Yes my lord,” replied the solider before quickly leaving.
‘Hmm, why would a portal open suddenly and then a warrior arrives in my realm. Something about this just doesn’t add up,’ thought Shinnok as he rubbed his beard thoughtfully.
Break
“Damn, how many of those guys are there?” panted Naruto as he fell to the ground and leaned against the side of the cave he had found. He must have been fighting for over an hour or two now and still there was no end to those men. It wasn’t as if they were strong or anything, in fact, they were rather weak, which was disappointing, but there sheer numbers made up for their weakness.
“I need some ramen,” groaned Naruto, but didn’t get to say anything more when he sensed someone and quickly rolled to the side as a large boulder collided with the spot he was just in.
“Whoa, what’s the big deal?” yelled Naruto as he got into his fighting stance and waited for his opponent to show himself or herself.
“I will kill you for dare trespassing on my territory,” growled the voice before a tall boy a year or two older then Naruto appeared. Naruto blinked to make sure he was seeing because from what he saw there was a boy who was built like a damn mountain standing in front of him, but that wasn’t what caught his attention. No what caught his attention was that instead of two arms this dude had four arms and was about to throw another large boulder at him with his insane strength.
“Hey buddy, I didn’t mean to trespass on your cave. I was just looking for a place to rest,” said Naruto as he jumped to the side and dodged the second boulder.
“Lies, you can not fool me,” yelled the boy as he charged at Naruto at impressive speeds for someone of his size. Naruto went to block the boy’s fist, but his eyes widened in disbelief as he broke right past his arm and nailed him in the face. He was sent flying into the far wall and could tell his arm was broken, but was quickly healing.
“Incredible, he is almost as strong as Granny-chan,” groaned Naruto as he slowly got up and quickly dodged to the side to avoid another powerful punch.
“Stop running coward and come face the last of the Shokan Clan,” yelled the boy as he charged at Naruto again.
“I don’t know what your problem is, but no more mister nice guy,” said Naruto before ducking down and sweeping the boy’s legs from out from under him. He then did a front flip where the heel of his foot slammed into the fallen boy’s stomach.
“Grrr,” grunted the boy in pain as Naruto got up and put a few feet between them.
“Damn, not only are his punches hard as hell, but his skin is made of steel,” groaned Naruto as he limped slightly from the hit he delivered.
“I will not be beat,” growled the boy before completely disappearing to the shock of Naruto. It was a good thing he was used to Smoke disappearing or he wouldn’t have sensed the boy above him and got out of the way in the time to avoid being crushed into the ground. There was now a small crater where the unknown boy had landed and Naruto knew in that moment this boy was not holding back.
‘He can teleport,’ thought Naruto in horror before his eyes hardened.
“Impressive, no other has managed to dodge that attack. It seems you are stronger then all the previous assassins sent after me,” said the boy with an impressed look in his eyes.
“I am no assassin, but no way am I letting you walk away from this fight anymore. I have finally found a challenge and I am going to show you why I will be the best,” said Naruto before blurring out of existence to the other boy’s surprise.
“Ah,” grunted the boy in pain as he felt a fist bury itself in his stomach. The force behind the fist sent him sailing outside the cave and skidding across the ground, but before he could recover, Naruto appeared behind him and delivered a powerful kick to his back.
“It’s over,” said Naruto with a smirk as he relaxed a bit and waited until the dust settled. His eyes widened in disbelief when the dust settled and getting up slowly was the boy with no bruise what so ever on him.
“Ha-ha, you must do better then that if you wish to end my life,” laughed the boy before charging at Naruto. Naruto was forced on the defensive as he dodged a flurry of punches coming from four different arms.
‘I need to find an opening to capitalize on,’ thought Naruto as he continued to dodge the rapid barrage of punches.
“If you can’t find an opening then you make one,” growled Naruto before spinning around the boy quickly and made to punch him across his face, but was surprised when the boy’s upper left arm caught his fist and held it tightly.
“All over now,” growled the boy before wrapping all four arms around Naruto and slowly began to crush the life out of him.
“Ahhh!!” screamed Naruto in pain as he felt his spine about to break.
‘Is this really the end?’ thought Naruto as he screamed even louder in pain.
“No,” grunted Naruto as he started to fight back and the boy’s eyes widened in disbelief as he felt his arms being pushed apart.
“I will not die like this,” yelled Naruto before raising his hands slowly and cupping them together before putting them on the boy’s chest.
“Take this,” yelled Naruto before blasting the boy off him with a close-range fireball to the chest.
“Ahhh!” screamed the boy in pain as he was sent skidding across the ground with smoke rising from his chest. Naruto fell to his knees in pain, but slowly stood back up and looked down at the boy across from his with a determined look in his eyes.
“How?” groaned the boy as he struggled to stand from the blast.
“I swore I wouldn’t die until I had completed my destiny and successfully protected all my friends from those who would wish to conquer them. No matter what I will not die until I have accomplished this goal,” said Naruto firmly as he the dust and rocks around him to rise from the ground from his power.
“Finish me,” grunted the boy as he fell to his back and stared up into the sky with a defeated look in his eyes. Naruto was about to say something, but several loud noises made him look up and he noticed several of those men from before were approaching. He was too weak from his fight with the boy to hold them off on his own, but maybe together they could win.
“Get up, I will need your help fighting them,” said Naruto as he limped over to the boy and held out his hand.
“What?” asked the boy confused.
“Listen, I don’t know who you think I am, but I was not sent here to kill you. I meant what I said about using the cave as a hiding place, but it doesn’t matter anymore because if you want to live then I will need your help fighting these guys since I am too weak to do it on my own,” said Naruto with a small smile. The boy stared at Naruto in shock because he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Ever since his great ancestor had lost his title of Champion of Mortal Kombat his people had been declared weak and expendable. For the past five hundred years, his clan had been on the run from the Emperor and he was the last of his people. Just when he thought he was finally going to die, he learns he wasted all this time fighting someone who from the looks of it didn’t even know who he was.
“I was willing to kill you,” said the boy honestly, as he stared up at Naruto.
“Yeah, but that had to be the best damn fight I have had in a long time and I would love to do it again sometime, but that won’t be possible if we don’t work together to beat these guys,” chuckled Naruto.
‘He wants to fight me again?’ thought the boy in shock, but he had to admit it was a great fight and he wouldn’t mind doing it again.
“You have spared my life, for this I shall be in your debt for the time being, but know that I will not let this defeat go unanswered. If you do not kill me now then I will become stronger and seek you out to gain back my lost honor,” said the boy seriously.
“Ha-ha, I look forward to it. The name is Uzumaki Naruto, I look forward to fighting with you and against you,” said Naruto as he held out his hand.
“I am Prince Goro, named after the great Champion of Mortal Kombat before he was beat,” said the boy as he grabbed Naruto’s hand and allowed him to help him to his feet.
“Let’s do this Prince-chan,” said Naruto with a smirk as Goro glared at him from the corner of his eyes.
“Grrr,” growled Goro at the name, but didn’t get to say anything more when the soldiers of Out World were upon them.
“Kill them both, do not let them live,” yelled the leader.
“Looks like they don’t want us around,” chuckled Naruto.
“Less talk and more fighting,” growled Goro before grabbing his attacker’s arm and snapping it like a twig before breaking his neck with a powerful punch across the face.
“Yeah, yeah, now you sound like Mr. Freeze,” said Naruto before delivering a swift combo that knocked his opponent out cold. The rest of the fight the two boys easily defeated their attackers with Goro killing them all and Naruto only killing when he had to since he didn’t really like killing all that much.
In no time at all, all the soldiers of Out World lay on the ground around Goro and Naruto. The two boys just smirked at each other before collapsing to the ground on their asses and staring up at the dark sky.
‘Maybe coming here wasn’t so bad after all. I found myself a new friend and rival that I can’t wait to fight again,’ thought Naruto with a smirk.
Break
“No,” replied Goro as he stared into the small fire Naruto had created.
“Oh come on, it’ll be much more fun then staying in this boring world,” said Naruto with a smirk.
“This world may not look like much to you, but it was once the homeland of the Shokan, my people, and I refuse to leave it even if it means my death,” said Goro seriously.
“Dude that doesn’t make sense, I mean, if you truly plan to restore the lost honor to your people then you will need to live so you can grow stronger. If you die here then your people will become nothing, but dust in the wind since I seriously doubt this man named Shao Kahn will remember you all,” said Naruto as he scratched the back of his head.
“I understand what you are trying to say, but if I leave this world then there is no guarantee I will ever get the chance to come back since I do not have the ability to travel the realms. It would be meaningless if I gained the strength to defeat him for sentencing my people to death and I wasn’t able to use it against him because I couldn’t reach him,” said Goro with a determined look in his eyes.
“Don’t worry about that, I am pretty sure Raidon-sensei will be able to help you get back here when the time comes,” said Naruto causing Goro to look at him curiously.
“Raidon? You couldn’t possibly mean you know the God of Thunder,” said Goro in disbelief.
“Yeah, I know him, but if you ask me he isn’t all that great. Just give me a few more years and I will be able to beat the old man,” said Naruto with a fox-like grin. Goro just stared long and hard at Naruto and found no traces of the boy lying.
“I will join you, but you must promise to deliver me back here when I feel I have grown strong enough to beat Shao Kahn,” said Goro firmly.
“Deal?” said Naruto as he held out his hand with a large smile. Goro didn’t know why he was trusting this human not even from his realm, but something about the boy, he knew he could trust.
“Then from now on we are allies,” said Goro as he gripped the boy’s hand firmly, which Naruto returned.
“I prefer friends, but whatever works for you buddy,” laughed Naruto. Goro just stared at him curiously, but just replied by nodding his head.
“Oh yeah, I demand a rematch of our fight because the last time I had a really good fight like that was when I won the Mugen Tournament two years ago,” said Naruto with a challenging smirk.
“Shouldn’t it be I who demands a rematch since you managed to beat me, though it was by complete luck,” said Goro as a smirk started to form on his face.
“What? It was all skill and if I have to kick your ass again to show it to you then let’s go,” said Naruto loudly as he stood up and glared down at Goro.
“It is your funeral,” said Goro as he stood up, towered over Naruto, and glared back at Naruto.
“That’s it, its go time,” said Naruto before charging at Goro with the older boy responding by charging as well.
