“Nothing,” I answered simply.

Mayex gave me a weird look, and then smirked. “Then why’d you two come back holding hands, huh, Renn?”

I was almost tempted to smack her, but I changed my mind and said, “You’re such a pain sometimes, you know that, right?”

“Touché this morning, aren’t you?” she teased. I glared at her and she laughed. Crazy person.

“How’d you know I was with Torak?” I asked.

“I went looking for you, found you out near the lake with Torak beside you. He looked like he was about to kiss you!” she grinned.

“I’m surprised,” I began, “that you didn’t find me sooner.” Mayex’s face turned a deep red. I smirked.

“Well…?” Mayex chewed her lip nervously.

“I was with Bale for a while…” she answered finally. I almost tripped over my own feet.

“And what were you two doing?” I teased.

“Oh, shut up, Renn!” A very deep shade of purple covered her face.

“Now you’re really starting to make me think you did something…” It wasn’t really true, but this was fun!
