A/N: A few things I’d like to mention before you start reading:

This story was written before Breaking Dawn was released. Any similarities are coincidences, but that also mean that Renesemee is not anywhere in this story. She was never born.

That being said, this story was also started quite a long time ago. My writing has grown, as well as my ability to tell a story, and I’d like you to keep that in mind as you go along.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the story.

Disclaimer: Stephenie Meyer owns Twilight.

Chapter One

BPOV

“Oh Bella, just one more picture. How many times will I get to see my daughter get married?” Renee groaned, exasperated, as she held up the camera again.

I sighed, forcing another smile onto my freshly made-up face, waiting for her to take the photo impatiently. My mind was racing, my heart pounding faster than ever. I was so nervous for today, I could barely think straight. Today was my wedding day, and my feelings were more mixed than I could handle.

As fed up as I had become about the numerous wedding decisions I’d had to endure over the past few months, I had finally become ecstatic to the idea that I would finally become Edward’s wife. I couldn’t help but look at it two different ways; the end of an era, or the beginning of our story.

His wife. The word sent chills through my body, but in a different way from when he first proposed to me after our return from Italy. I don’t know what created the change, but my fear of commitment through example, like my parents, played a large factor in my initial judgment. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I’m not my parents. The bond Edward and I had was so much stronger than anything Charlie and Renee created, and I knew it was here to stay. As scared and nervous as I was, I knew that I loved him more than anything, and would go to the moon and back for him. I’m convinced that I made the right decision. Living with Edward was a necessity, not a choice. He was the air I breathed, and without him I couldn’t live. Today I will finally become his mate; his equal in every way.

The camera flashed, momentarily blinding my vision. While I blinked furiously, attempting to rid the haziness from my eyesight, I heard the door to the room open and a jubilant Alice bounce in.

“It’s time!” She squealed, grabbing my wrist. My sight was now clear, and I moved to take one last look in the mirror. I became lost in my reflection, still amazed that it was me.

I had to hand it to Alice; as irritating as I became when she played Bella Barbie, she really could work wonders. My hair had been curled and left down, with a few strands framing my face. My brown eyes, rimmed with light makeup, sparkled with excitement and my cheeks were adorned with the everlasting red tint.

The one thing that absolutely floored me, though, was my dress. It was absolutely beautiful; a white satin masterpiece that ran all the way down to the floor. I made Alice promise that she wouldn’t go overboard, but fortunately she picked out something she knew both Edward and I would love. ‘A piece from his own time,’ she had told me, sealing the deal.

I inhaled deeply, and finally allowed Alice to carry me down the stairs to the car waiting idly in the driveway. The other two stepped in, ready to meet the rest of the family at the church.

As we cruised through Forks, I couldn’t help but have flashbacks of my life here, and how that decision affected my whole life. Never in a million years did I think this would be the ending decision of my move. It was merely a way to start over and allow Renee and Phil to do the same, but it became so much more.

We had already pulled up to the church by the time I was finished with my reminiscing, the butterflies in my stomach returning at full force. I swallowed, and cautiously stepped out of the yellow Porsche so I wouldn’t rip my gorgeous dress. I slowly walked along the path to the old church, admiring all of the flower arrangements placed along the inside. Per Edward’s request, the majority of them were freesias.

The first thing I noticed was Charlie pacing outside the door leading to the room where the ceremony would be held, muttering something to himself as he wrung his hands nervously. I cleared my throat softly, and he glanced up at me.

“Wow Bells, you look beautiful.” He said, blushing a deep red and looking away. He was never one for emotional conversations.

“Thanks, Dad.” I walked over, wrapping my arms around his neck. He seemed startled at first, but accepted the embrace and hugged me back.

“Are you sure this is what you want?” He asked me once more. I inhaled deeply, racking my brain for another way I could explain, yet again, how intense my feelings were for the man standing at the end of the aisle. I needed to set him straight; he needed to know that Edward is all I could ever want, and I couldn’t let that go.

“Dad…” I began, not knowing how or where to start. I hated explaining this to him, but it had become something I absolutely needed to state. “Dad, I love Edward. More than you could ever imagine. I know he left once…” I winced slightly at the memory, “but you have to believe him when he says he thought it was the best thing for me. I’ve never been happier than I am with him, and he will take care of me. I need you to understand that.”

Few silent tears were running down my face, but I quickly wiped them away and looked at Charlie, who seemed a little lost in thought.

“I know.” He said simply, kissing the top of my head and holding out his arm for me to take. “Come on, you don’t want to be late for your own wedding!”

I laughed at his possibly fake enthusiasm and linked my arm with his, watching as the wedding party began to walk.

I had chosen Angela, Alice and Rosalie as my bridesmaids, watching shakily as they made their way down the aisle in the gold dresses Alice chose. I hardly had time to try and relax before they got reached the end and took their marks, the crowd turning around to wait for someone. You! A small voice in my mind screamed.

Then I heard it. The knock. My cue.

“You ready?” Charlie whispered, looking like he was a bit nauseous himself. I nodded, afraid to speak in fear of my voice cracking.

The wooden door opened, each member standing up and staring at me, awaiting my arrival. I felt like a deer in the headlights, my eyes widening as I took in how long the distance was from here to the alter. It was only when Charlie tugged on my arm that I began to walk. I looked out in the audience through the corner of my eye, curious as to who actually showed up. Of course most of Forks would; prominent Edward Cullen and the police chief’s daughter to finally be wed. My family sat on one side, Edward’s on the other. We had also agreed on inviting a few friends from school. At a glance, I saw Mike, Jessica and Ben near the back.

The one person that did surprise me was Jake. Billy was on one side of him, a beautiful dark skinned girl on the other. He smiled at me, giving me a small thumbs up as I continued to walk.

I looked away from the crowd and fixed my gaze straight ahead. Alice, Angela and Rosalie were at the end of the aisle on one side, Jasper and Emmett on the other. Carlisle, who was performing the ceremony, stood perfectly poised in the center, and next to him was a gleaming Edward.

As soon as I locked eyes with him, I felt my breath hitch in my throat, my mouth going dry. He really was the definition of perfection. He wore a black tux, which contrasted with his pale skin wonderfully. His bronze hair was disheveled as usual, a lock following over his forehead, his topaz eyes shimmering. His crooked grin was spread widely on his face, looking happier than I had ever seen him.

I had finally made it down to the end and my own Greek God stepped forward, reaching a hand out to me.

I turned to Charlie and smiled. He looked at the two of us, and pulled the veil over my head.

“Take care of her.” He said, his voice shaking slightly.

“With my life.” Edward vowed as he turned his smoldering gaze to me. When I looked into them, I didn’t see the monster that he claimed to be. I saw love, compassion and desire.

I took his hand, biting my lip as he brought it up to his lips to kiss it. We turned and walked back to Carlisle, who looked incredibly proud of his son. With another quick smile, he began to speak.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The entire time, Edward held onto my hands and looked deep into my eyes. Although no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t focus on what Carlisle was saying. I knew that it was my wedding, the only one I would ever have, and I probably should pay attention but I couldn’t help it. I was suddenly broken out of my trance when I heard him say the most important words.

“Do you, Isabella Marie Swan, take Edward Anthony Mason Cullen, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together after Gods Ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love, honor and cherish him from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only onto him, for as long as you both shall live?”

“I do.” I promised, thanking the heavens that my voice was steady. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Edward smile as brightly as he was now.

Carlisle repeated the words to Edward.

“I do.” He said, grinning crookedly, never taking his eyes off of me.

The rings were brought forward and Edward placed mine on my fourth finger, and I his. The diamond sparkled in the dim glow from the candles as I felt him run his thumb over the band. From what I could see, there were words carved into it, but I wasn’t given time to read what they said. Carlisle stood up straighter, closing the book – merely a prop, to him – and looked at us.

This was it. The words that would seal us eternally.

“By the power invested in me, I how pronounce you husband and wife. Edward, you may kiss your bride.”

“Finally.” I heard him whisper, winding his arm around my waist and pulling me close to him. Before I could register what was happening, his lips came crashing down onto mine as he dipped me down, his fingers intertwining themselves in my hair. I could faintly hear the cheering of the guests, but that wasn’t important. I wound my arms around his neck in an attempt to close the gap between our bodies. He smiled against my lips as he lifted me back up and picked me up bridal style. I could feel the idiotic grin I had on my face, but I didn’t care. Everything seemed so surreal.

Edward bent down to kiss me again lightly as he started to walk back up the aisle. He headed out of the church, the sky the uniform gray that I had become accustomed to, a light rain drizzling down on us. He placed me gently in the passenger seat of his Vanquish before walking at human pace to the other side. The key was pushed into the ignition and he nudged the gas pedal lightly, the car veering off in the direction of the Cullen’s house.

The entire ride, I couldn’t help but smile as the memories of my wedding day were burned into my mind. I was finally Edward’s wife, and he was right. I was happy; happier than I had ever been.
