Chapter One

The sky was dark that night, unusually dark, the stars appeared closer than usual as did the moon which was very disturbing for Tala as he stood on the frozen lake and stared at it over the trees near the lake. Kai was skating around him in circles watching him in mild confusion,

“What’s wrong Tala?” he asked as he slid past Tala skillfully close.

Tala blinked when Kai flashed past and he watched him make his next revolution before talking,

“The moon is so big…it just doesn’t feel right…” he mumbled and skated to move after Kai.

It was just after eight in Russia, daylight had long since passed and the cold was 7 degrees lower than earlier. In their thick coats for all year round weather in Russia, they were skating on a frozen lake just outside of Moscow City, which was where the couple lived in their estate.

“You seem too distracted to have any fun Tala…you wanna go home?” he asked as he came to a halt on the ice, his black skates leaving cut ice trails harshly behind him.

Tala sighed and smiled,

“No…we came out here to have some privacy away from those nutters we call friends…” he skated to Kai and wrapped his arms around the slightly taller mans neck as he brushed their lips together, “…so I’m sorry I’m being distracted...do carry on…” he apologized and gave Kai his warmest puppy dog look with his ice blue eyes.

Kai grinned before kissing the soft lips of his child hood friend and long time lover.

In The Mean While…

Two other child hood best friends…but not lovers ….were just leaving a bar at four o clock in the morning. The streets of Tokyo were only just quiet now as most people who had gone clubbing and bar hopping had left for home and bed.

Shuichi Shindo, a rock star who was seriously trying to live up to the title, had successfully managed to get completely drunk…as he usually did when he and Hiroshi went out on a Friday, well Saturday now as it was early hours of the morning.

He hung onto Hiroshi who was quite drunk himself for once not being the sober one, as they walked through the street just about knowing where they were headed.

“Ya…wan..na know…Heer…o…kun…” Shuichi slurred and Hiro nearly fell over while they supported each other’s weights.

“Know…what…Shu…kun….” Hiro tried to sound more composed by speaking slowly rather than rambling like Shuichi did in his drunken state.

“The…skyiiiiisss…so funey…” he narrowed his eyes at the sky and Hiro looked up, they stood in silence a while looking up at the sky until they fell over backwards from dizziness.

“Ouch!” Shuichi sat up rubbing the back of his head that had hit the concrete and Hiro just lied there grumbling drunkenly.

Shuichi sighed as he stared at the sky…’Yuki is gonna kill me…or maybe he’ll forgive me and we’ll have sex…that would be nice…’ he smiled now thinking of sex with his hot *lover*…he loved saying lover,

“Luver…my Yuki…” he slurred and then his smile faded as he saw the moon looking scary and massive.

“Heeroo…” he tapped Hiro.

Hiro sat up,

“What! What is it!” he shouted from his half sleeping state.

“The…moon…” Shuichi sounded breathless as he got to his feet and Hiro looked up and he frowned.

Russia

“Tala…Tala wake up…” Kai shook Tala who had collapsed after looking up at the sky.

Kai was worried, Tala’s eyes had been so scared as he stared up and then he just fell, luckily Kai had caught him or he may have hit his head on the ice and been hurt.

“Tala…” he tapped Tala’s pale cheek lightly as Tala lay in his lap, he was kneeling on the ice.

Tala’s eyes opened very lazily and he blinked several times before his vision stopped blurring, he frowned at the person holding his head so comfortably and stroking his cheek.

Did he know this man with brown…almost red eyes and…blue hair? His head hurt but that was because he’d hit it on the concrete when he and Hiro had fallen.

“Tala…are you okay, I was worried you just passed out…babe…can you hear me?” Kai frowned at Tala’s frowning face.

“Tala…?” Shuichi mumbled in confusion at the name and the man cradling his head…and calling him the confusing name.

Kai swallowed,

“Wow…okay you must really be out of it…I’ll get you home…” he said and moved to get up.

“Nani!” Shuichi shouted and he sat up and wriggled away from Kai, “…what? Babe? Do I know you?” he looked at the blue haired man now looking at him with a ‘stop messing around’ expression, he still felt drunk but his mind was sobering fast from fear.

“Did you just say…nani…that’s Japanese…I thought you didn’t want me to teach you to speak Japanese…” he laughed and stood up on his skates.

Shuichi just then noticed the white ice skates attached to his feet and then just how freezing cold his ass was on the floor…ice…

“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!” he screamed seeing the color of his skin so pale and the thick coats and clothes and feeling how…thin he felt…light and cold and scared and lost…seeing long red hair on his shoulders flat and lifeless he looked around at the snow and trees and the strange man looking at him with concern.

“Tala?” Kai skated closer to Shuichi who scrambled further…before passing out.

Japan

Hiro was laughing at Shuichi who was lying flat on his face on the ground…Shuichi lifted his head and coughed lightly feeling light headed.

“Shu…kun…you…just…fell…flllaaattt on your…face…” he doubled over laughing still drunk and still on the ground on the sidewalk.

Shuichi pushed himself to sit up and looked around the brightly lit streets and then at the Japanese man laughing on the floor,

“What the…” Tala mumbled to himself.

He stood up and dusted himself looking at the ground in shock as to how he ended up there…or wherever he was and then he froze and started breathing fast in panic when he saw the loose cargo pants and loose shirt he wore, that hung off his shoulder, with these brightly colored sneakers.

He gasped seeing his skin was a different color, almost like it had complexion and he felt shorter and he felt a little muscled and heavier and he looked at his hands with the strange rings and his hands didn’t look like his, they were rough and…boyish…not like his own soft hands.

He glanced at the other man now wobbling to his feet and Tala smelled alcohol on himself and he tried to catch his breath and pushed his hands into his…short hair?

Tala almost screamed as he felt around his head for his long blood red hair,

“What…what is going on…” he wanted to cry, he…wasn’t himself…

“Shu…ichi…” Hiro wobbled to lean onto Shuichi for support, “…we…should get…back…Yuki and Ayaka san…will miss us…” he tripped forward and Shuichi jumped away from him,

“Who the fuck are you!!” Tala yelled in fright and looked around, seeing the street names and stores and signs all in Japanese Kanji,

“Oh…my…god…” he felt numb suddenly seeing the sun rising.

He looked at the watch on the wrist he had and saw it was almost five am he looked back to the frowning man who had called him Shuichi, he was still looking at him like he was crazy,

“When…eever…you’re done…we should…goo…you can’t…be that drunk that…yoo can’t remember me or…Yuki san…” he winked lazily but somewhat steadily and grabbed Tala by the same foreign wrist and pulled him along.

Tala walked with the drunk guy who gave indication he knew where he was, who he was and where he lived, for these reasons and not wanting to stay in the street all confused Tala followed him, besides that he looked clean and well kept just drunk and Tala noted that he was supposed to have been drunk too.

He sighed nervously as they walked and the man with him sang some song in Japanese, maybe this was a dream, Tala figured he’d wake up and Kai would kiss him good morning, after all the last he remembered was the moon making him dizzy…’This can’t be happening…’ he thought and glanced up at the sky that no longer had the moon as daylight broke.
