Chapter 7
Later that night Emily came home to the small run down appartment from pulling a double shift to find Alex getting ready to go out for the night.
"Hey where are you headed off to?" she asked her daughter as she hung up her jacket.
"I'm meeting up with Jay. Don't wait up." Alex told her grabbing her wallet and hoodie. "Oh and some guy by the name of Christopher called wanting to talk to you."
Emily looked over at her surprised. She had only known one guy by the name of Christopher but it had been over fifteen years since she had spoken to him. "Did he say what he wanted?" It had been a while since she had heard from him, if it was who she thought it was. She wondered why he would be calling her after all this time.
Alex shook her head. "He didn't say. Number's by the phone." she said as she heard the horn of her boyfriend's car blare from outside. "That's Jay. I'll be back later, Mom."
"Bye." she whispered as she spotted the piece of paper next to the phone. She picked it up and stared at the number.
The last time she had seen him had been the night she had left their son on his doorstep. It had been sixteen years and he never called to try to find her until now. She had heard that he had moved to Toronto a couple years after that and heard he had taken in his younger brother about four years ago.
It seemed some what strange to her though. She didn't remember him ever having a younger brother when they dated.
She sat it back down where it had been. She would call him back later after she had taken a shower.
Tracker was sitting on the sofa when he heard the door of Sean's room open. "Hey little bro get your shoes on and come with me." he said grabbing his own sneakers and his keys.
"I told you I'm not going with you Track." Sean called to him as he went into the small bathroom.
"I'm not going to make you. Just get your shoes and come on." Tracker said grabbing his jacket and headed towards the door as he heard Sean finish up what he had to do and come back out.
Sean went to his rooma and grabbed his shoes to put them on. "Where are we going?" he asked following Tracker out of the house.
"You'll see." he said getting on his motorcycle. "Get on!" he called starting it.
Sean shrugged not really knowing what the other man was doing before getting on the back of the bike. "Hold on tight kid." he told Sean as they took off down the dirt road.
They drove for about an hour until they found themselves on the out skirts of town. Tracker pulled over on the side of the road and parked the bike.
"What are we doing out here?" Sean asked him looking around. "You're not going to kill me are you?"
Tracker laughed shaking is head. "Nah. Close your eyes and hold out your hand." Sean looked over at him with a raised eyebrow but did as he asked. He felt Tracker drop something cold and metal into his hand.
He opened his eyes to see a set of keys in his hand. "What's this for?" he asked him.
Tracker grabbed a small flashlight out of one of the saddlebags on his bike and turned it on. He shined it over on the other side of the road to show a black and blue sport bike. "It's for that over there."
He watched as Sean's eyes lit up. "It's mine?" he asked in awe.
Tracker nodded. "Get on and test it out." he said smiling as he watched Sean go over and look at the bike.
Sean grinned as he got on the bike and put the key in the ignition. He laughed as the bike roared to life.
Tracker stood back and watched him race the bike up and down the deserted road. On his fourth turn back Sean called for him to come join him. He got back on his own bike and raced off after the boy.
They stayed out there racing each other until the sun came up and the two of them started to make their way back to Wasaga Beach. On the way back they stopped to grab breakfast at a small diner.
After eating they got back on the road and went back to the trailer park. They walked through the door laughing at something that had happened during the night to find Mrs. Cameron sitting up waiting for them.
"Where have you to been?" she asked worried as she went over to the two boys. "You two have been gone all night. You had your father and me worried sick."
Sean's laughs then turned into yawns. "Sorry, Mom, I'm gonna go to bed." he said before turning to look at Tracker. "Thanks Track." he said before going to get some sleep.
Mrs. Cameron smiled at a stunned Tracker. "You know that's the first time I've seen him crack a smile since he came home." she said hugging him. "Go get some sleep."
Tracker nodded and went into the spare room in the back of the trailer. He laid down on the small bed and just has he closed his eyes his cell phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Tracker?"
