Be ready for the big finale! I’m pretty sure this is the longest chapter!
Disclaimer: Don’t own them, and I don’t really have time to make up a comment to go with it, so just read. You know you want to.
I couldn’t believe he’d said that. I was confused. Does he-? My thoughts were cut off when I felt Nick’s lips against mine. That answers that question. He pulled away and looked at me nervously. I didn’t know what to do. I quickly hugged him, and I felt his body relax. He hugged me back. I felt so comfortable in his arms.
Kevin POV
“Oh my gosh,” Reilly and I said at the exact same time. We looked at each other in shock. “Did he-?” she started to asked. “He did!” I said. “Wow! Are they-?” she began. “I don’t know!” I said. We both looked at each other, then back at Nick and Devonny. She hugged him, and he hugged her back. “What’s happening? Are they saying anything?” Reilly asked. “Shh,” I said. “What if they catch us?” she asked. My eyes widened. That would not be good. “Come on, we have to leave,” I said, standing up. She nodded and stood also. I saw them pull away from each other, then Nick kissed her again. I smirked.
We ran down the road as fast as we could, not wanting them to leave and find us running down the road. When we ran up to my house, we stopped on the porch, trying to catch our breath, then
regained our composure, and walked calmly inside. I instantly looked around for Joe. I saw the girl in pink. She was smirking, her arms crossed, and she was leaning against a wall. I scowled at her, and Reilly stopped me from advancing on the girl. I calmed at her touch, and looked around. I saw Joe sitting on the couch, talking to Fotini. I walked in there as fast as I could, Reilly at my heels. “Joe,” I said. He didn’t notice me, and I was anxious, so I smacked him in the back of the head. “Ow!” he said, grabbing his head and turning to face me. “What was that for?!” he asked. “For not paying attention, now listen,” I said, sitting next to him. Reilly sat on the arm of the couch.
I told him about the girl in the pink, what happened (or all the story that I knew), and what happened at the beach. “Aah! That’s great! It’s about freaking time!” he said. I grinned. “Wait, so are you two together now?” Fotini asked, referring to me and Reilly. Reilly blushed. “Yeah,” I said. “Ha ha, way to go Kevin!” Joe said. “You are way too enthusiastic right now,” I laughed at him. “Hey, have you seen Nick?” the girl in pink came up to us. I tried not to glare at her. “Yeah, but I have a feeling he doesn’t want to see you,” I said. “I second that!” Joe said, raising his hand. Then the other two girls raised their hands. The girl narrowed her eyes at us. “I don’t know what your problem is-,” she started. “Our problem, is that you need to leave our brother and his girlfriend alone, got it?” I said. “He doesn’t have a girlfriend,” she sneered. “Yeah, last time you checked, but thanks to you, now he does!” Joe said. I rolled my eyes: he was making it sound like she was his girlfriend. “What are you talking about?” she asked. “Actually, I don’t think she needs to know, do you, guys?” Reilly said. We all shook our heads.
Joe stood up, trying to be all gangster, or something. “Yeah, so you best back up off him,” he said. “Whatever,” she said, in a valley girl way. She turned and left. “Oh, what a great comeback,” I said sarcastically. “Yeah, I wish I’d thought of that. Whatever,” Joe said, almost exactly like she’d said it. We all cracked up laughing, except Joe, who had apparently not been joking. Of course, the confused look on his face only made us laugh more. After a few minutes, some people started to leave. Then the front door opened. All our heads snapped in that direction. Nick came in the door, his arm around Devonny’s shoulders, and her smiling brightly up at him.
“Woo hoo! You go Nick!” Joe said enthusiastically. I smacked him in the arm. “What?” he asked. “He doesn’t know we know,” I hissed. “Oh, right,” he said. Nick and Devonny came up to us. “What’s he talking about?” Nick asked, pointing at Joe. “Nothing,” we all said, rather quickly. “You didn’t leave, did you?” Nick asked me. “Psh, what are you talking about?” I asked, leaning back and putting an arm around Reilly. “I mean, you didn’t leave the beach when you were supposed to,” he said. “Of course I-,” he cut me off. “Didn’t?” he offered. “I was gonna say ‘did’,” I said. “Yeah, but that would be lying, Kev,” he said smartly. Great, Joe slips up, now I’m getting scolded.
Nick POV
When we pulled away from the hug, I kissed her again. Then I pulled away and looked into her eyes. I saw the light off the ocean reflecting in her eyes. She blinked, and I was snapped back to reality. “Devonny?” I asked softly. “Yeah?” she asked. “Will you be my girlfriend?” I asked her. I meant it. I wanted her to be my girlfriend. With every fiber of my soul, I wanted this. More than anything. “Of course,” she said. I kissed her again, and this time, she kissed back.
We pulled away, and I smiled at her. She smiled back. I got up, and put my hand out. She took my hand and I pulled her up. I put my arm around her, not caring who saw, and we began to walk back to the house. “Do you think Kevin actually left?” she asked. “I doubt it,” I said. She laughed a little. Gosh, I love that laugh.
Devonny POV
I was shocked, but I said, “Of course.” I was shocked I could even talk. He kissed me again, and I kissed him back. We pulled away and he smiled at me, then helped me up. He put an arm around me and we started walking back to his house. “Do you think Kevin actually left?” I asked him. “I doubt it,” he said. I laughed. “So, basically, probably the entire family already knows what happened, and they’re probably also plotting revenge against Erika,” he said. “Erika?” I asked. “Pink Girl,” he said. I smiled.
When we walked up to his house, we looked at each other. We went inside and saw every person on the couch in the living room-Joe, Fotini, Reilly, and Kevin-looking at us. “Woo hoo! You go Nick!” Joe cheered, causing several people to look at him. Kevin smacked him on the arm, Joe said, “What?”, then Kevin whispered something to him. “Oh, right,” I heard Joe say. “What’s he talking about?” Nick asked, pointing at Joe. “Nothing,” they all said. “You didn’t leave, did you?” Nick asked Kevin. “Psh, what are you talking about?” Kevin asked, leaning back and putting his arm around Reilly. “I mean, you didn’t leave the beach when you were supposed to,” he said. “Of course I-,” Kevin started. “Didn’t?” he offered. “I was gonna say ‘did’,” Kevin said. “Yeah, but that would be lying, Kev,” Nick said. “Oh, who cares?!” Joe said, causing everyone to jump and look at him. “Are you two together or not?” Joe asked. We looked at each other. We seemed to have the same thought going through our heads. “No,” we said, looking back at them. They all looked at us, astonished.
We both laughed at the looks on their faces. Then that made them confused, of course. “Wha-?” Kevin started. “We are,” I said. They looked at each other. Grins broke out on Joe’s and Kevin’s faces, then they high-fived. Fotini and Reilly smiled. “Wait, you’re not joking, right?” Joe asked, looking suddenly very serious. Nick glanced around the room, then quickly kissed me on the lips, then looked back at the others while I giggled. “That answer your question?” Nick asked. “Yeah, I think so,” Joe said. “Hey, why don’t we all go downstairs?” Nick said. I remembered that I was going to sing a song for him. “Yeah, sure,” Kevin said. They all got up and we started heading for the door. I turned my head and saw the Pink Girl. Oh, sorry, Erika. She was watching us, clearly very angry. Nick must’ve noticed me looking in that direction, because he looked too, then he stuck his tongue out at her. “Nick!” I said. “What?” he asked, as if he hadn’t done anything. I rolled my eyes, laughing at him, and we went downstairs.
When we got downstairs, Joe went to sit down on the couch, but spotter my notebook. “What’s this?” he asked, getting ready to open it. Nick’s arm was quickly off my shoulders, and he snatched the notebook away from his brother. “Hey!” Joe said. Nick handed it to me. “Thanks,” I said, crossing my arms over it and pressing it against my chest. He smiled at me. We sat down on the couch, Kevin next to me, and Reilly on the other side of him, and Joe was showing Fotini his tambourines hanging on the wall. He took one down and handed it to her. He put his hand on hers and started to shake it, as if he were trying to teach her how to play it. I put my hand to my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Fotini giggled. “Devon?” I heard Frankie ask as he came down the stairs. “Yeah?” I asked. “Your brother is leaving,” he said. “Okay, I’ll be right up,” I said. He nodded, then ran up the stairs. I looked at Nick. “I don’t want you to leave,” he said, doing the puppy dog pout. “I don’t want you to go either,” I said. He closed his eyes, then opened them and looked at me. “At least let me walk you home,” he said. I smiled. “Sure,” I said. He smiled.
We went upstairs, and followed my brother and Dana across the street. Dana said her goodbye, and walked over to her house, and we walked up to ours. Jeremy went inside, leaving me with Nick. “Nick...” I started. “You have to come over,” he said. “What?” I asked, confused. “Tomorrow, before we leave, you have to come over,” he said. “I will,” I said. “We’re leaving at ten,” he said. “I’ll be there as early as you want me to,” I said. “Five?” he asked. I laughed. “If you want me to,” I said. “No, how about eight?” he asked. “Then sure,” I said. “Okay,” he said, smiling. “Goodnight,” I said. He kissed me on the lips. “Goodnight,” he said after pulling away. I gave him one last smile, then turned and walked through the door. Once it was closed, I watched him walk across the street, smiling, and into his house.
After taking a shower, I went to bed, and fell asleep thinking about Nick. The next morning, I woke up at seven thirty. I put on a pair of light blue jeans and my high-top diamond converse and a black beater with a sparkly, blue, purple, and green butterfly on it. I took out the two french braids I’d put in my hair the night before, and parted my hair to the side. I went downstairs. I ate breakfast (french toast, courtesy of Jeremy), then went upstairs again, brushed my teeth, and put on chap stick and watermelon lip gloss. I ran downstairs (again), and said goodbye to Jeremy as I went through the door. I walked across the road and knocked on the door. “Devonny!” Nick said as he opened the door, as if accusing me of something. “What?” I asked. “You don’t have to knock! Just come in!” he said. “Well, I felt the need to knock,” I said. “Didn’t you say that last time?” he asked, smirking. “I don’t know,” I said, shrugging. I tried to walk in the door, but he moved, blocking my way.
“Nick,” I said. “Yes?” he asked. “Can you move?” I asked. “No,” he said. “Why not?” I asked him. “Because I’m waiting,” he said. “Waiting for what?” I asked. He put a finger to his chin, and looked up, as if he were deep in thought. Then he tapped his lips with his finger. I rolled my eyes. “Fine,” I said. I kissed him on the lips, and he turned and let me come in. “I swear, you’re turning into Joe,” I said. “What?” he asked, acting shocked. “Joe would do that, too,” I said, pointing at him. “Oh, you’re so mean,” he said. I stuck my tongue out at him. He scrunched his nose. “You guys gonna come down here or not?” I heard Kevin say. I looked towards the basement and saw him watching us from the doorway. “Yeah,” Nick said. He looked at me, then went to the stairway, and I followed. We went downstairs. Kevin was sitting on the couch, and Reilly was next to him, leaning against him. Joe was standing up, pacing. “What’s wrong with him?” I asked, pointing to Joe as Nick sat down. I sat down in between him and Reilly. “He’s waiting for Fotini,” Kevin said. I nodded mouthing the word, “Oh.” “Where is she?” Joe said. “Maybe she’s not a morning person,” Nick said. Joe glared at Nick, who put his arm around me, as if I could protect him.
I heard a knock on the door upstairs, and within a split second, Joe was up the stairs and answering the door. But they didn’t come downstairs. I looked at Nick in confusion. He explained to me what was happening, and a huge smiled spread across my face. “You wanna watch, don’t you?” he asked me. “Yes, please!” I said. We looked at Kevin and Reilly, who were in a deep conversation, and we went upstairs.
Joe POV
I answered the door. “Hey, Fotini!” I said to her. “Hey, Joe,” she said. I led her to the back door. She looked at me in confusion. I blew her off (I had to), and we went out to the backyard. “So...” she said. “How’s everything goin’?” I asked her. She furrowed her eyebrows. “Um, fine, I guess,” she said. I hoped it was that she was just confused, and not annoyed at me. “Um, I was wondering...” I said. She looked at me. I stopped walking, then turned to face her. She stopped, too. “Yeah?” she asked. “Fotini,” I said. She looked at me. “Will you be my girlfriend?” I asked her. She looked shocked. Then she smiled. She kissed me on the lips, then pulled away, smiling brightly. “So will you?” I asked, joking. She slapped me jokingly on the shoulder. Then she looked me in the eyes. “Yeah,” she said. I grinned, then I kissed her.
Devonny POV
“Aww!” I said, hugging Nick. He smiled. “That was so cute!” I said. He smiled. I knew he didn’t want to say that the scene we’d just seen was cute, but I could tell he thought it was. “Uh oh, you know what this means,” I said, looking at him seriously, only I was joking, but he didn’t know that. “What?” he asked. “All the Jonas Brothers are taken,” I said. Then I smiled and he laughed. Then he looked at me. “What?” I asked him. “Do you mind if we keep this a secret?” he asked. Now I was confused. “What do you mean? People already know,” I said. “I mean, a secret to the paparazzi,” he said. He sighed. “I don’t want them to find out, and bug you all the time. You don’t need that!” he said. “Okay,” I said. We stood up. He kissed me on the lips and a cold chill ran up my spine. “Weird,” I said, after he’d pulled away. “What?” he asked. “My first kiss and first boyfriend are Nick Jonas,” I said. It hardly ever occurred to me that they were famous: they were just guys. He laughed. “Hey, I was wondering if you could do something for me,” he said. “What?” I asked. “Could you record your song?” he asked. “I don’t know,” I said. “It’ll just be for me to hear. You have our music to hear me, so I want your song so I can hear you,” he said. I blushed. “Is that a yes,” he asked, smiling down at me. “Yes,” I said. “Awesome,” he said.
We went back downstairs and sat down in the same spots we’d been in minutes earlier. Kevin and Reilly looked at us. “Soo...?” Kevin asked. “They’re together!” I said excitedly. “Whoa, so Frankie’s the only one who doesn’t have a girl now?” Kevin asked. “He’s seven, he shouldn’t have ‘a girl’,” Reilly said. “I know but that hasn’t stopped him before!” Kevin said. “Wonder where he learned that from,” Reilly mumbled. Kevin stuck his tongue out at her. There was a noise upstairs, then Joe and Fotini came down the stairs, holding hands. They both stopped in front of us, grinning. “Whoa, is it Joetini?” Kevin asked. I snickered and Nick smiled, but I could tell he was trying not to do the same. “Yeah!” Joe said, putting their connected hands in the air. We all laughed, along with Fotini. Nick looked at me, and I knew he was mentally asking me if I’d record the song. I rolled my eyes, but smiled. He knew what that meant. “Kevin, go get your recorder!” he said. Kevin looked confused, but got up and grabbed a little machine off the wall and sat back down. “Now, everybody has to be quiet,” he said, getting up and getting a guitar. I followed him to the stools. Reilly and Fotini looked around in confusion. “Ready?” Kevin asked.
Nick and I nodded, Kevin pressed a button, and Nick started strumming. We went through the song, and when we were finished, Kevin pressed another button, and Reilly and Fotini clapped. I smiled at them and Nick went to put up his guitar. “Bus is here!” I heard Mrs. Jonas shout from upstairs. “Okay!” the boys yelled back. We got up and went upstairs, each Jonas boy having their arm around ‘their girl’, and Mrs. Jonas looked at us in confusion. Clearly, she hadn’t been let in on any of this. “What’s going on?” she asked suspiciously. She looked at Kevin and Reilly. “Dating,” they both said. She looked at Joe and Fotini. They nodded. She looked at me and Nick. I leaned my head on his shoulder, and she got the picture. “So, we hiding this, or what?” she asked. Kevin and Reilly shook their heads, Fotini and Joe shrugged, and Nick and I nodded. “Okay,” she said.
For the next hour or so, we were putting the guys’ stuff on the bus. Then it was time for them to leave. “I wish you didn’t have to go,” I said. I knew it was kind of selfish, but I didn’t. “I know. I don’t want to either,” he said, hugging me. “I’ll text and call every day,” he said. “I know,” I said, smiling at him. “I’ll miss you,” he said. “I’ll miss you, too,” I said back. He kissed me, and I kissed back. We pulled away. “Come on, Nick!” Joe said from the bus. He looked me in the eyes. “Goodbye,” he said. “Goodbye,” I said, tears coming to my eyes. He turned and walked to the bus. He gave me one last wave, and I soon as I waved back, he got on the bus. I watched as it drove away, me, fotini, and Reilly all having our arms on each others’ shoulders. I will miss him.
Okay, that’s it! Just be ready for the sequel! Bye!!
