Chapter 1: Meet the Boys and Girls

I breathed in the fresh morning air, as the sun shined in my face and I stare out the window. Then I hear a knock on my door and I answer with a ‘come in’. It was one of my mother’s maids. ‘Master Takeo your mother and father have summoned you to the thrown room along with your brothers.’ She says fidgeting slightly as she bowed. ‘I’ll be down there in a moment’ I answer as she nods leaves the room to wake up my other two brothers.

I walk back to my bed and I lay there for a couple minutes staring at the ceiling. I sigh and get up to do my morning routine. I grab a towel and walk into my bathroom. I put the towel down as I reach to turn the water faucet. I know you may be thinking that I can just have the maids do it for me, but I usually do a lot of things on my own. I mean I am a boy not some sissy girl that needs everything to be done for her.

I step into the bath tub and start to wash my body. After my bath I walk back into my room and put my robes on and walked out the door to meet my mother and father in the thrown room. As I walked there I meet up with my brothers Takeshi and Kenta.

“Argh! What do they want now” said a pissed of Kenta.

Don’t worry he’s always pissed off about something it’s normal.

“Shut up Kenta” said our lead brother, Takeshi. “The sooner we get this over with the better.”

Yeah if you already haven’t noticed Takeshi is the oldest brother so he’s our leader and by the way I’m the youngest. So anyway we walk through the doors of the thrown room and we see our mother and father sitting in front of us. We walk up to them and kneel in front of them waiting for what they wanted to tell us.

My father then started “As you boys know you are at the age to start looking for wives. So we found a few candidates and they are going to arrive tomorrow.” He said.

We were about to object when my mother cut in “Now boys your father is right if you three are going to rule this land one day you have to find suitable wives.” She said already knowing what we were going to say.

“But mother all those princesses from other kingdoms are sissies.” Takeshi started.

“Yeah.” Kenta cut in “All they do is whine all day and take the money and spend it on crap for them” he finished

“They are not even strong either they are all weak” I added.

“Yeah what about that” Takeshi and Kenta said.

“Now boys you know that most girls are fragile and they need your protection they can’t fend for themselves. So the chances are you won’t find any girls that can fight like you can. By the way when the other princesses come tomorrow I want you to act like gentlemen. I don’t want you to try and fight them they aren’t men so be nice.” My father said to us.

We just sat there and thought it over after a few minutes we agreed to meet them, but told our parents we can turn them down if we don’t like them and that we couldn’t guarantee that we would be totally nice to them.

My father sighed and accepted the deal after all we weren’t going to get any better than that. “Okay since it’s about time for breakfast lets go and eat.” He said.

My mother and him walked out of the room to the dining area as we followed we began to whisper to each other about what we were going to do about finding wives.

“Brick. What are we going to do?” I asked Takeshi calling him by his middle name. We don’t talk to each other using first names we use our middle names.

“I don’t know Boomer” he replied “What do you think Butch?” he asked also calling my brother Kenta by his middle name.

“I think we should just act bad and disobey father because I am not marrying any stinking wussy princess that only wants money and to be higher up in the food chain.” He said.

Brick and I both looked at him and smiled. Butch would never change.

A door slammed open and in walked in a girl with short raven hair “Momoko according to Princess we are going to arrive at Luna Island soon, so we will be able to get supplies there.”

“Alright” said girl replied “Tell Miyako to get everything ready and that we are going to be meeting some old friends” she looked up and smiled.

“It’s about time you three joined us” said the queen of the Land of Wind.

“We are sorry mother” we said simultaneously. “We were having a small discussion about tomorrow’s meeting.”

She looked at us suspiciously and then went back to eating. We sighed in relief and sat in our respectful seats around the table. Soon after the maid brought us our food and we started eating.

“Yeah well I’m not so thrilled to see my brothers. I’m guessing you want to see your sister?” Kaoru said.

“Oh course not, but when ever we visit she always says she’s lonely so were gonna take our siblings with us. Besides we need extra hands around the ship anyway and they could be a big help when we are in trouble.”

“Whatever” Kaoru said and left the room to tell Miyako the orders givin.

Momoko’s POV

After Kaoru left the room I had to show a small smirk. I know what I said pissed her off because of the look she gave me before she left and the fact that she simply hates her brothers.

I know that you might think that I’m the only captain of this ship, but the truth is that Kaoru, Miyako, and I are all the captains we share the job. They usually trust me since my family and I are more used to this.

Anyway I’ve known Miyako and Kaoru almost all my life. We met when we were about 4 or 5. It’s a pretty funny story actually because I met Kaoru when she was in a middle of having an argument with her two brothers.

I met Miyako on the shore of a beach just looking out into the ocean. I talked to her for a while during the day before my parents and their crew was going to attack the village. When they were done and came back I was on the boat waiting when I saw Miyako and another girl next to her. My parents were going to kill them also along with the other villagers. But I stopped them and asked if they could come along with us. They reluctantly agreed. We later found out were a good add to the team.

Then, when we were 8 we found out we each had a power from an element including Kaoru’s brothers and my sister. My power is fire, Miyako’s water, and Kaoru’s Earth. Kaoru’s older brother had the power of healing as well as my younger sister. Kaoru’s younger brother had the power of thunder.

We were all trained in the arts of our element, since according to Ken’s father, Professor Utonium, it had run in our families. We learned all different types of fighting moves and different ways of wielding our powers.

‘I better go and check out what’s happening on deck’ I said aloud. I stood up and walked out the door.

I walked up the stairs and met one of my crew members halfway up, it was a girl named Momo. I nodded at her and kept walking. ‘When I’m alone with Kaoru and Miyako I’m always so nice and carefree, but when I was with my crew I almost never showed any emotion. It was one of the things I learned while growing up on seeing as we were pirates. I learned it the hard way and ended up losing so much.’ I thought

I came up to the deck and saw all of the crew doing their assigned jobs because Kaoru was yelling at them so they could get it right.

I sighed and gave a slight smile hoping that no one was watching. Valese, she was the girl that I found with Miyako, was cleaning up around the ship with Miyako not far behind organizing everything moved out of place. I walked over to them and asked how everything was going. Valese replied with an okay and a smile, while Miyako gave a nod in response.

Miyako, like me and Kaoru, never showed any emotion around people unless it was me or Kaoru. Miyako is a bit less harsh though because she doesn’t really talk much at all except when questioned something without a yes or no answer. She was the softy in our group. She was the one ,along with Valese, who cooked and cleaned for the crew.

Kaoru as you can tell is the tough one in the group. She’s more talkative than Miyako, but you get on her bad side it’ll be the end of you…literally. Kaoru is the person that makes sure everyone does their job and does it right.

Now perhaps you are now wondering what my part is in is whole pirate crew we have. My spot in this crew is being the strategist. Since I’m the smartest on the crew I’m usually dumped with all the strategic missions like disguise and where to hit places and when. I also keep up with what supplies we have and what we don’t have. I think that’s it.

“We are going to start dinner in a little while” said Valese.

I looked back at her and nodded “That’s fine.” I replied and left to pester Kaoru about her brothers and to make sure I have all the supplies we needed written down.

“Oh! Kaoru” I called to her with a sing-song voice.

She looked at me and scowled. I smirked back at her.

“So… what are you going to do when you see you two brothers again?” I asked.

“Well,” she started. “First I’m gonna beat the crap out of ‘em and then I’m going to throw their unconscious bodies off a high cliff… and then.”

She stopped to think, but I cut her off “Yeah we should just keep it as that? I suggested. She shrugged me off and went back to her yelling.

I sighed ‘I feel sorry for her poor brothers, but then again they do sometimes deserve it. Oh Well.’ I thought and left whistling a little tune. ‘It’s better not to get on her nerves, since she already seems pissed off.’
