Max pov
Practice was… for lack of better word, totally awkward! So when I got back I was just in a daze as I got ready for the dance. Alice had laid out a cute outfit I was supposed to wear.
I quickly put on the blue doll top and skinny jeans with black wedges, and went outside.
I sat down and stared up at the sky. It was so infinite, so full of possibilities. It really put everything into focus that we are all pretty insignificant compared to it. I sighed and relised I would be late if I did not leave soon.
I got up and dusted off my pants. I unfurled my wings and prepared to fly off when I heard Fang call my name.
“Max!” he was running toward me. He stopped a few feet in front of me and looked me in the face, “I wanted to wish you good luck tonight.”
I chuckled knowing this kind of thing was not like Fang. “You could have told me there.” I pointed out.
He smirked, “I was concerned that you would be surrounded by your adoring fans.”
I rolled my eyes, and took off, leaving behind fang and a whirl of dust. Oh, yeah. I like to be dramatic.
I arrived on time and helped Quil and Embry set up, but Jacob was nowhere in sight.
About 10 min. before the students came I saw him walk in. But that’s not what made me stare. It was the fact that he walked in with some other girl I had never seen before.
She looked Indian liked him, and also like him she was beautiful. I could not help the pang of jealousy. Why was I jealous of Jacob with some other girl? I should not even care! But for some reason or another, I did. And it was eating me up inside to see them together.
I turned my back to them and walked/stomped over to the refreshments table. I stared into the punch bowl, focusing on my thought to much to hear the nearly silent footsteps of an approaching person.
Fang walked up to be and said, “Hey, what did the punch ever do to you?”
I had to laugh. Fang always knew what to say. He was my best friend ever. I turned to face him. His face turned serious.
“Max, what’s wrong?” he asked concerned.
But before I could answer someone else I knew walked in. A certain person I had not seen in forever. And she was running toward me.
“Max!” a girl wearing all black was now screaming my name.
“I missed you Ella!” I said embracing my sis. It had been to long since I had seen my (goth) sister.
The flock arrived in time to see our hug, so naturally they all wanted in on the action. It was not long before I began to feel crowded and broke up the hug.
Everyone was looking at me for an introduction. I held up Ella’s arm and spoke loudly, “everyone, this is Ella, my sister the arsonist.”
Arsonist
-
A
person who commits the crime of maliciously, voluntarily, and
willfully setting fire to the building, buildings, or other property
of another or of burning one's own property for an improper purpose.
Also, for those who are still wondering, even after all the hints I dropped, yes that is Max’s sister but I am changing her character. She is now goth.
