Chapter one: No! A whisper from the darkness

“…a whisper is heard from the darkness of the night. It calls out your name and you step closer and closer to the sound. The closer you get the more you are frightened by this dark voice. Then the voice stops and there is a silence. All of a sudden a kunai is resting upon your throat, you calmly talk to the mysterious ninja stalling as you gather your chakra then attack…”

I was walking through the woods trying to hide my chakra and keep the curse mark inactive at the same time. I wore a black kimono with chrysanthemums on the ends and some on the chest. I had long strands of white hair and a short hair cut with bangs. My crystal blue eyes looked around keeping an eye out for anything that moved. I heard a man talking and was curious to know who it may have been. I looked from behind a bush and saw a man and his team. I made to mush noise and I knew that one of the ninja would hear. I watched them for a while as my interest increased. The jonin that wore his headband over one of his eyes and looked as if he had been in a fight not that long ago was going over his team how to climb trees without using their hands. The kenochi with the pink hair and dress said something to the boy with the blonde hair and marks on his cheeks that made him look like a cat. The kenochi started climbing the tree and spotted me. To fast to react, the boy with the dark hair and Uchiha symbol on his shirt immediately pinned me to a tree. As soon as I came eye to eye with the ninja I recognized him immediately, Itachi mention him a lot.

“So you are the legendary Sasuke Uchiha that I’ve heard so much about.” I said unemotionally.

“How do you know my name?” He asked angrily.

“Your brother.” I said simply.

“How do you know my brother!?” He asked tensing up.

“He was my sensei.”

“LAIR!!!”

“Oh, but it’s true. He taught me everything I know. So that means I’m stronger than you.” I said playing with the boys’ head.

Sasuke got enraged and tried to punch me. I only dodged the punch and trapped him in the ground.

“How!?”

“How what?” I asked going on my knees looking at him pitifully.

“How can you control Earth!?” He asked as the jonin and the others just stood there and stared.

“My Kekkei Genkai, duh. My name is Shukumei Amaya. Now I’ll be going.” I said standing up.

“Going where?” The jonin asked curiously.

“To the Leaf village, I figure that I can start a new life there.” I said turning around to face the jonin. I walked closer to the jonin.

“We’re from the leaf village.” Sasuke replied.

“Oh! Ugh well then may I ask of your assistance to the leaf village?” I asked kindly.

“Why would we help you. You just put our comrade in the ground! Who knows what you would do to us if we helped you.” The blonde haired ninja said.

“And who knows, you might just call Itachi to kill us!” The kenochi added.

“If you thought I was going to kill you don’t you think I would have done that already?” I said regretting that I ever said anything. “I knew if I asked you would end up saying something like that, everyone does everyone has ever since I was born, I’ve been ignored, pushed aside.’’

“Maybe we should,” Sasuke said finally getting himself free.

“I am Kakashi Hatake.” The jonin said.

“I’m Naruto Uzumaki the next Hokage! Believe it!” The blonde haired boy said.

“I’m Sakura Haruno” The pink haired kenochi replied as well.

“And obviously you know Sasuke.” Kakashi said. “Why don’t we head back to the Village hidden in the mist.” Kakashi said

We all went back to the village and I was excepted into one of the villagers’ homes. I was in my room looking out my window at the beach and the sunset.

I decided to take a walk down to the beach. I walked down to the beach and let the water wash over my feet. The sunset was beautiful, so many colors mixed all together. I walked and thought about Itachi, and all of the other people that I have been with in the past. When I thought I was far enough away from the others I sat down away from the water.

“Why did I have to meet him, he is in danger because of me now.” I said laying down. My back was to the sand when I saw Sasuke above me looking at the sunset as well from the top of a bolder.

“What is he…” I said as I went to see him. I walked around the bolder and sat next to him. “What are you doing out here?” I asked making a current of fire that looked like a ball in the palm of my hands.

When Sasuke didn’t answer I figured that I was interrupting him. I was about to get up when he stood up.

“The breeze is nice.” He said as I stood up as I kept the ball of fire alive.

“Yeah…” I replied softly. “I’m sor-“

“So how did you come across my brother?” He asked cutting me off.

“Sasuke,” I breathed. “I’m sorry about what I said to you earlier. It was unnecessary for me to bring that up.” I said as I stopped my chakra making the ball of fire dim and fade away.

“That’s not why I asked.” Sasuke replied.

“Well I was born a rouge ninja, My parents ended up dying at the hand of the akatsuki. Itachi I guess remembered what he had done to you and pitied me. He left me alone so I could cry over my parent’s bodies. I ran away to a creek not that far off and cried there that’s when I first met Orochimaru. He trained me for a while then let me go so I could carry out his mission.” I said getting tense. “Itachi of course came and found me but I was saved by Orochimaru who then placed the curse mark on me. Itachi stole me away from Orochimaru and for the longest time he soothed the pain but then when I had to kill, well the memories never stopped flooding in. I couldn’t take it anymore, an Itachi couldn’t sooth the pain any longer. He would apologize and tell me I should move on and forget my parents and what the akatsuki did to my family. I hoped I would never meet you but I guess my wish was denied. Ever since the encounter with the akatsuki it has been an emotional rollercoaster for me.” I said walking away.

Before I could walk away from Sasuke about arms length he grabbed my wrist and held it tightly in his hand. “Why?…Why didn’t you ever want to meet me?” He asked as he looked at me as I blushed as tears ran down my face. A few drops fell to the bolder and Sasuke realized this.

“I’m not crying because of you it’s because… well I don’t want you to get hurt.” I said as I turned around.

“Hurt from what?” I didn’t answer. Sasuke got annoyed and grabbed my shoulders and squeezed.

“Sasuke,” I said as tears ran down my face, “Please, I just…” I said as Sasuke realized he was hurting me and relaxed his grip.

Kakashi was walking on the beach and saw Sasuke and then me.

He stopped and watched when he heard us talking.

“I-I’m sorry, I never meant to do anything to bring you to this.” I said

“No, it was my fault, I over reacted.” Sasuke said letting me go and turning the other way.

“Sasuke, I’ll leave.” I said as I took a step toward Sasuke.

“No, I won’t let you leave.” Sasuke said tensing up.

“I see, you don’t trust me, I’m sorry I can’t be perfect, but I’m not a robot that someone can order around all the time, I’m human too, and I’m going to get angry and sad sometimes but I’m not going to let anyone use that as an advantage!” I said angrily. I walked down off the boulder and down to the beach. I let the water run over my feet as I sat down. I sighed and tried to relax. “Why does he have to be so much like his brother…” I said as I sensed someone’s chakra. I already knew who it was. I got up and quickly appeared behind Kakashi. The jonin noticed and went to attack but I pinned him to the ground.

“What?! How did you?”

“I have unmatchable speed. Now tell me what you heard.” I demanded as he struggled in my grip. “Why do I need to bother?” I said releasing him. “I’m sorry Kakashi.” I said I stood up giving him room to get up as well. “I’m just a burden to all of you, especially Sasuke, he just doesn’t realize how much I care about his and everyone else’s safety. I think I should leave, free you from this danger that I have brought upon you all.” I said turning away in sadness.

“Stay.” Kakashi said putting a hand on my shoulder.

“Why? All I’m doing if I stay is endangering you all. I don’t want to risk your lives.”

He sighed.

“I’ll talk to you latter.” I said as I left to my room.

I walked in and Sakura and Naruto were at the table eating.

“Would you like something to eat?” The homeowner asked as Naruto and Sakura stared.

“No thank you, ugh I’ll be in my room.” I said as Sakura and Naruto looked at each other.

“Is she alright? She hasn’t eaten anything all day.” The homeowner asked.

Kakashi walked in, “She’s just had a hard day, She’ll be fine after a nights rest.” Kakashi said.

I was in my room laying in bed when I heard a knock at the door. I got up and walked over to the door exhausted. I quietly opened the door only to see Sasuke in the doorway.

“What ar…” I said but was cut off as Sasuke placed his hand over my mouth.

“Stay quiet I need to talk with you.” He said as he stepped into my room closing the door behind him taking his hand off of my mouth.

“What do you want to talk about at…” I said turning around to look at the clock, “midnight?” I said as I sat down on my bed. Sasuke sat next to me.

“Look, you need to tell me what actually happened.” Sasuke said.

I walked over to the window and opened it, “There’s not much to say,” I said

He got up and walked to where I was, he leaned down embracing me in an unmovable tiny space. I blushed as he came closer and put his hand over mine. My heart rate sped up even though I knew what he was trying to do. I despised how much he resembled his brother. I turned around to face him but his face was just centimeters away from mine. I blushed even more and he knew it was working. His eyes narrowed as he leaned down as if was going to kiss me, his lips were as close to mine as they could get if he wasn’t going to kiss me. My heart sunk deep in my body as I blushed.

“Sasuke,” I whispered finding my voice, “I-I know what you’re trying to do and I-it won’t work on me.” I whispered trying my best to breathe.

He just smirked, “really,” He said as put his hand on my shoulder his other hand on mine. His touch was killing me. “If it’s not working then why are you blushing so much?” he asked gently.

“Well ugh, it’s just a little stuffy in here.” I said blushing even more.

“Well then I guess that I’ll have to try at a different angle,” He said pressing his lips to mine, my eyes widened in shock then closed as I relaxed feeling the warmth of the kiss.

He stopped and sighed, “did that work?” He asked taking his hand off of mine and holding me still by placing his hand on my shoulders. I felt his breath brush against my neck. I swallowed hard as I blushed.

“S-Sasuke.” I sighed, “a-alright, please, just stop.” I said moving him gently off to the side as I placed a hand over my chest relaxing a little. “I told you, I’m not like your fan girls, that won’t work on me.” I said sitting down on my bed. Then after a few seconds I laid back with a sigh. “You are so used to girls following you around that you thought it would work on me. Look I like you but not like they do, I care about you and your safety I’m not like them, I’m not going to stalk or scream if I see you.” I said as he walked over to the door.

“Yeah, you’re right, but if anyone hears about this I swear, you will regret it.” He said opening the door and closing it after he left.

Behind the door Sasuke sighed then left for his room.

I sat up to look if he was there but he had actually left.
