“Be careful, my son.” Palesa said, hugging Shahar tightly.
It was a week after the wedding when the digidestined decided they needed to leave. Mainly because the Human World could now be seen in strips on the sky. And there were reports of four evil digimon calling themselves the ‘Dark Masters.’
So, Shahar and Skyla were dressed as commoners and now they all stood out in front of the Witchan castle.
“I will Mother.” Shahar promised.
“I don’t see why your covering your mouth.” Rhys said, examining his brother.
Shahar smirked. “Every body knows that you and I have scars from… you know.” He knew that their little torture session was a sensitive topic. Around his mother and Rhys. Rhys could still remember it, and just the memory made his mother want to faint. “So its better this way.”
“All of you, be careful.” Paka said. She suddenly perked her ears, realizing something. “Skyla… I want you to have this…” She pulled the Royal Ring off one of her two tails and knelt down. She put it in her daughter’s paw. “Take that. It will make you stronger... and it'll let you know that your I, your father, and all of your people are with you.”
Skyla smiled and slipped it on her own tail. It appeared to be too big at first, but it stayed put.
“Alright Your Majesties-” Tai began.
Skyla smirked. “Don’t call us that Tai…we’re just Gatomon and Wizardmon.”
“Can we get going? I’m ready to get out of this heat!” Mimi said, fanning herself with her pink cowgirl hat.
“Yeah… well, I guess we’ll be seeing you guys!” Tai said, grinning at them.
Calanetta smiled. “Be careful, all of you.”
“And try not to get killed.” Erebus said lazily.
Rhys suddenly grabbed Erebus and pulled him into a fake headlock. He was grinning. “Come on Erebus… say it…”
“Let. Go.” Erebus growled.
“Not until you say, ‘Goodbye, brother. I’ll miss you.’”
“How about this: let go before I kill you.”
“Say it…”
Palesa smirked an shook her head. “Let go of your brother Rhys…”
“Not until he says he’s going to miss Shahar-I mean Wizardmon.” Rhys said, looking down at Erebus. “Say it…what if he dies? And then you’ll have to live the rest of your gonna have to live with the fact that you didn’t say that you would miss your brother when he left…”
Erebus let out an irritated sigh. “I’m going to miss you, Shahar.”
Rhys released his brother, a satisfied smirk on his face.
Erebus glared at Rhys and slammed his fist down on to his head. “Idiot…”
“I love you too brother…” Rhys said, rubbing his now throbbing head. He looked with a grin at Wizardmon. “Now, if I become an uncle while you guys are off roaming around the Digital-”
“Rhys.” Erebus said, rather firmly. “Shut. Up.”
Rhys rolled his eyes. “Lighten up…” He smirked at Wizardmon again. “Aren’t you gonna miss us?”
Wizardmon smiled. “Bye, brothers… please try to get along…”
“Come on guys… the Digital World isn’t going to save itself…” Tai said impatiently.
Wizardmon nodded. “Let’s go…” He looked at Skyla, or really Gatomon, and Kari. Kari smiled at him.
“Don’t worry.” Kari said. “Now that we’re all together, we’ll defeat those Dark Masters for sure.”
“Lets just hope the princess and prince can handle it…” Matt said, smirking.
Gatomon looked at him and smirked. “I was born a warrior…trust me… we’ll be fine.”
“Alright, lets get moving!” Tai said, beginning to lead them across the drawbridge. The others followed after them. Wizardmon, Gatomon, and Kari stayed near the back. Before leaving the castle gates Gatomon looked back to see her mother was crying. She smiled sadly and waved. They returned it and she hurried through the gates after her new teammates.
The journey through Fedya was a happy one. They’d all heard the tale of Donovan’s defeat, and they could not stop cheering. Finally, before they left the city walls, four young Rookie digimon ran up. They bowed to them and thanked them in Witchan. Wizardmon translated and said it was their honor, and that they should not be thanking them.
“I had no idea Prince Shahar was so polite…” one of the girls said as they hurried off.
The guards opened the city gates and saluted them as they went by. The gates shut behind them when they were out and the people crowded around them and watched them.
“Dang… is everyone going to do that?” Tai asked, glancing back.
“Most likely not.” Gatomon said, smirking. She looked up at the sky. “So… that’s your world?”
Kari nodded. “Well, part of it…its great. There are bad things in it, but its great and wonderful.” She sighed a bit. “I miss Mommy though…”
Tai pulled her close into a one-armed hug and grinned down at her. “Don’t worry, soon we’ll be home again.”
T.K. smiled and nodded to her. “Yeah. And we’ll have our digimon with us too!” He looked down at Patamon who was in his arms. “And we’ll all be a big happy family.”
“But first we have to defeat the Dark Masters.” Gabumon pointed out.
Agumon looked at him. “Come on! We just got two new teammates… I see we go out and eat!”
“Is that all you boys think about?” Sora asked, sighing.
Agumon merely grinned.
