Disclaimer: I do not own the Avalon series

“Okay you ready?” Cloud asked, it was mourning and the birds were chirping. Kara and Cloud stood in the glade a few yards apart. They faced each other and the wind picked up and blew there hair to the side.

“Yes.” Kara stated simply. She was nervous, but very confident.

Adriane was in the Manor still asleep, but Cloud put crunches there for her if Adriane woke up. Adriane was a little sweaty from a bad dream, so they had Ozzie and Dreamer watch her. Ozzie wanted to stay back to help Dreamer. Dreamer was worried that his pack-mate wouldn’t make it. Ozzie was worried about Emily.

“Let’s get started.” Cloud commanded snapping Kara out of her thoughts. She tried to hide the worried look on her face. She simply nodded her head at Cloud. They were training for the battle. They had two days left until the time. Kara was very worried.

Meanwhile with Emily

Emily was very exhausted. She had a bit of her vision back, but her head hurt more. She couldn’t tell how long she was there, or what was going on. She wanted to scream, but nothing came out. She noticed the two figures. She couldn’t tell what they were saying, but some reason she knew it wasn’t good. She fought to stay conscious, but she couldn’t resist for long, so she gave in and blacked out. They second she closed her eyes she could have sworn she saw a picture of Ozzie, Adriane, Kara, Lyra, and Dreamer smiling.

Meanwhile with the others

Kara was panting and so was Cloud, they had just trained and were very tired. They wanted to save Emily quickly, and Adriane still hadn’t woken up.

“That’s enough for the day.” Cloud said. They both walked to the Manor in silence. Kara was unsure about something, but ignored it.

Once back at the Manor they noticed that Adriane was sleeping and Dreamer was laying down, sleeping also, but kept and eye open just in case. Ozzie was eating a cookie. He looked up and saw the two girls enter and went back to eating.

“She’s still not up yet?” Kara asked trying the awkward silence. Ozzie once again turned his gaze to the girls, then to Kara. His nodded and continued eating.

“Spill it Ozzie.” Cloud piped up. She looked at Ozzie expecting. Dreamer got up and stood by Cloud’s side and looked at Ozzie, and then Kara looked at Ozzie. Ozzie stared at Cloud then Kara, then Dreamer, the Cloud again. Hey then looked at the door as if something was going to pop in any second, then he finally looked at Adriane who was a bit sweaty, but still asleep.

“Well?” Cloud was getting impatient.

“Um, uh… Dreamer did it!” Ozzie shouted and pointed at Dreamer than ran off. Cloud caught Ozzie. She lifted him up so he was looking right at her. Ozzie tried to get out of the grip, but had no luck.

“Well” Cloud said. She was really annoyed.

“Well… Um… I can’t tell you.” Ozzie admitted. He hung his head and Cloud carefully set him on the table. Ozzie sat there and looked at his paws. What was he supposed to do in this situation?

What about pack-mate?” Dreamer asked his sad emerald eyes boring into Cloud.

“I don’t know, but she should be out for a couple more days.” Cloud explained. She shook her head and walked to the door. Before she walked out she looked over her shoulder and to Kara.

“Be careful, and let Adriane sleep, call me if she wakes up got it!” Cloud said and walked out the door, Kara just stared at were Cloud used to be.

“Wait!” Kara called after the girl, but Cloud was already gone. ‘Great, now what?’ Kara asked herself.

She was expected to do so much, but she was only one person. Why couldn’t she live a normal life? Why does she have to deal with all this stuff? What was she going to do? She had thoughts zipping around in her mind. She flopped on a chair and looked up at the beautiful ceiling. One thing was certain; she had to figure this out fast.

That’s the chapter, hope you enjoyed it, I would have made it longer, but I am tired. Review!
