Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. Nor would I want to o-o Ew, who would want to own Harry? I’d much rather own Ron, Fred or George, Sirius, Snape, or Lupin. Granted, I think Lupin sounded hotter in the book.
xD My first HP fanfic! Enjoy

Severus looked up and frowned as he watched the small group of Gryffindor friends stride across the freshly mowed grounds.
“Hey, Snivellus!” called the tallest; James Potter. “What, poor Snapey have no friends, no one to talk to but his book?”
Remus Lupin, who stood behind James, Sirius, and Peter, looked up from his book and raised his eyebrows. “Watch it, James, books can be a nice getaway at times.”
Sirius Black smirked doggedly back at Remus. “Yes, but for Snivellus here, they’re not just a getaway, they’re a permanent thing to confide in. It’s different when you’ve got friends, Moony.”
Severus frowned. “Shut up, you filthy blood-traitor.”
“Oh, did Padfoot hurt your feelings, Severus?” James grinned.
Peter Pettigrew cackled cruelly, his beady eyes watering in laughter.
Sirius gave Severus a playful shove, causing Severus’ book to fall into the lake. “Whoops. Sorry! Don’t worry, we’ll be your pals, Sev.”
“You’re kidding, right, Padfoot?” James raised his eyebrows.
Sirius chuckled. “Don’t get your knockers in a twist, Prongs, of course I am.”
Severus’ mouth twisted into a malicious sneer. “Leave me alone.” His eyes held a deadly, poisonous, essence of pure hate.
James laughed and flicked his head in the direction of Hogwarts. “Come on, guys, let’s leave Snivellus to stew in his own loneliness.”
Remus and Peter nodded, heading in the direction of the castle.
“You coming, Sirius?” James asked.
“Uh, yeah, go on without me, I’ll be there in a minute.” Sirius nodded.
James shrugged, thinking nothing of it and following Remus and Peter.
Sirius pulled out his wand, which caused Severus to scramble backwards, reaching for his own wand.
Sirius blinked in curiosity, cocking his head slightly. “Accio book!” Severus’ book flew out of the lake, right into his free right hand. He handed it back to Severus. “Sorry, Sev. You can handle drying it off.”
Severus blinked in confusion. “Wha..? Er… Thank you…” he mumbled.
“Any time, Sev. Any time.” Sirius gave a warm smile before disappearing from sight.
Yep, basically a short into to the characters and their personalities. The one thing my friends have seemed to point out is that no one, let alone Sirius would say “Don’t get your knockers in a twist” anymore. But what can I say? I’ve grown rather attached to the saying xD
On to the next chapter!
