This story is just going to go anywhere, just basically the problems with growing up.

Chapter 1

No one in their right mind, moved to Beanotown. It was the sort of place that Travel Agents decided to keep to themselves. It was the sort of place that had no recommendations and it had the worst reputation. People went on holiday there and people visited others there but no one ever moved there. Perhaps it was because all the kids from teenagers to babies were hooligans. Perhaps it was because the parents had gotten so bitter and spiteful about their hooligan children that they weren’t exactly the best people to socialise with. If anyone dared to move there, they never had kids because no one wanted their child to go to Beanotown High School.

There had been two separate primary schools. Bash Street and then simple Beanotown Primary but there was one large high school or secondary school or whatever you wanted to call it and that meant the kids from Bash Street mingled with people like Dennis Mitchell, Rodger Lewis and Robbie Cannon also known as Dennis the Menace, Rodger the Dodger and Robbie Rebel.

Dennis was in charge and then his two sidekicks were Rodger and Robbie. Their greatest enemies were Danny, Spotty and Plug from Bash Street, Sydney wasn’t totally respected with them and he was like a follower. They despised each other and always had fights.

There were lots of groups around school, there were the sporty kids like Brian Ball Boy, Billy Whiz and a few other boys and a few girls. There were the leftovers like Wilfred, Erbet, Smiffy and Fatty, Wilfred was too small to fight, Erbet would hit his own group, Smiffy would just stand there and Fatty was too slow. There were also the younger people like Freddie Fear and Les Pretend, they usually went around together.

Minnie Daniels – commonly known as Minnie the Minx – went to that school and was best friends with Daisy who I’m sure you know is Ernest’s crush. Another couple of girls were Tiffany Johnson and Kylie Spears. Tiffany was the one and only, Toots and then Kylie was Robbie’s crush, although he’d never admit that. It was an unlikely friendship but Kylie was the only one who had the same love for music as Toots did.

Understand? Good. Then lets begin

Proper Start

“What do we have today?” Dennis asked as he joined up with his two friends. Last year, everyone came in with their own clothes on and didn’t wear the uniform, the teachers didn’t even bother to stop them, and they knew from then on, it would be a non-uniform school. Dennis was wearing his trademark red-and-black jersey and his hair was as messy as usual.

“How the hell should I know?” Rodger muttered. He dug in his black trousers and frowned, he then nodded to himself and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper, he straightened it out and squinted at the words. “Chemistry, German, Maths, History and English.” There were five lessons each day and they all lasted an hour and ten minutes, then they had twenty minutes free time after the second lesson and an hour and five minutes free time after English.

“Excellent! Chemistry! We get to blow things up!” Dennis sniggered. English, I bet I get sent out six times, German eight, Maths three, History four and Chemistry twice.” He glanced at his two friends and they nodded in agreement. “Probably be sent to the Head’s office three times too… maybe four if there’s a fight today.” He cracked his fingers. “I am in the mood.”

They entered the school and walked towards the form room for registration, everyone immediately got out of the way when they saw the three walking together, you didn’t want to be in the way of a menace, especially on a Monday!

“We’re only five minutes late.” Robbie glanced at his watch. “We could play football for fifteen minutes and that means we’ll be five minutes late for English.” He glanced at his two friends.

Dennis’s hand hovered over the door handle. He pondered a moment, he didn’t care about being late but he needed to copy Minnie’s German homework, she had copied it off Daisy who had gotten Ernest to do it. Obviously he didn’t care about getting a detention but he did care about going to Military school in which his parents had threatened to do. He then shook his head, like they’d really do that! He was about to go when his teacher spotted him.

“Get in here! Now!” He barked. Dennis scowled but slouched in all the same, he slid into his desk and poked Minnie with a pencil. She rolled her eyes but understood and passed him her German book. He studied it a second and then screwed up his face, he gave it back, one more detention wasn’t going to make a difference in his life.

Danny glared at Dennis across the room and got an almighty glare back. Minnie rolled her eyes and poked Dennis. Minnie was the only one who could control Dennis but that was because they had been friends since they were babies. “Oi.” Dennis cleared his throat. “Oi you.” He looked at the teacher. “Your flies are undone!”

Of course it wasn’t true but the teacher jumped round in embarrassment as the class laughed, he was so easy to wind up and also, it was an excuse for everyone to talk. After a couple of minutes, the teacher shot back around, his eyes full of hate and anger. “Right you little twerp!” He marched over to Dennis’s desk. “First of all, my name is Mr Davis, not Oi. Secondly, I do not appreciate being humiliated and if I hear another word out of you I shall…” He stopped and turned round. “Toots! Take out those earphones! How dare you listen to music! Danny! Spit out the gum immediately! Rodger! Stop copying Walter’s maths homework! His not even in the same maths class as you!” The teacher ranted on for several moments and then sighed. “Just go away.”

They didn’t need an invitation; they all jumped up and left. Danny pushed past him and Dennis shoved him back, they both glared at each other and dispersed into different directions. It was just an ordinary day.

Lunch

“Watch it!” Dennis swore as someone bumped into him as they walked past. Cuthbert looked at him, terrified, he scrambled away to join Walter. Dennis narrowed his eyebrows. “Yeah, you better run!”

“You are such a bully!” Dennis spun round, ready to punch whoever said that but then realised it was Minnie, she had a big grin on her face, and Dennis relaxed as Minnie high-fived the two others.

“Yeah, yeah, whatever!” Dennis waved a hand. “So what’s up?” He rubbed his brow and yawned. He rubbed his eyes and then glanced at her.

She glanced upwards. “The sky, some clouds, the sun, birds, aeroplanes.” She winked at him and tucked her hair behind her ears and straightened her beret. She flicked his nose affectionately and he jerked his head.

“Leave off!” He grinned. “I need to have a fight, I’ve only seen my favourite teacher twice today!” By that, he meant the head teacher. His eyes searched round at each little group. The softies were hurrying inside, towards the library no doubt. He glanced around and then his eyes lit up, he glanced at Minnie. “See you later!” He walked off, closely followed by Rodger and Robbie.

Minnie hesitated but then walked back towards Daisy who was flicking through a magazine. They sat together and chatted for a while and then came the familiar sound. “FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!”

Minnie jumped up and hurried over, she crashed into Toots. The two exchanged glances. “You don’t think…?” Toot’s voice trailed off, Toots and Minnie were good friends but because Toots was best friends with Danny, Minnie couldn’t be friends with her.

They scrambled through the crowds of people to see Dennis and Danny fighting. Dennis punched Danny right on the nose and Danny hit him back, right on the mouth, Toots and Minnie exchanged glances and then Danny grabbed Toot’s ear and pulled as hard she could, he yelped in pain. Minnie yanked at Dennis’s collar so hard that she almost strangled him. Someone yelled “Spoilsports!” And was rewarded by a hefty punch from Minnie. Minnie dragged Dennis away and Toots dragged Danny away.

Dennis was furious. “Why did you have to interfere?” He swore. “I was just doing fine but now everyone’s going to think I need a girl to stick up for me!” He spat furiously; his spit was mixed with blood. “I could have beaten him up, fine!”

Minnie scowled and slapped him hard around the face. “No you couldn’t! You know it would have been an even fight because you’d have kept fighting until a teacher came along!” She protested. “I won’t bother in the future!” She glared at him and stormed off.

Meanwhile, Toots was talking to Danny. “What the hell is wrong for you? You know that Dennis could murder you if he wanted! Stop getting yourself into fights! You’re going to be killed one day, by someone if it’s not by him!”

“That stupid…” He cursed, calling Dennis such a bad word that it made his lips dry. “He would never murder anyone! He isn’t that tough!” He dipped his head back and put an old cloth on his nose which Toots had given him. He ducked away as Toots adjusted the cloth. “Get off! I can do it myself.”

Toots looked at him sweetly. “Does your nose hurt?” Danny nodded miserably. “Good! You deserve it!” She walked away bitterly, leaving Danny to nurse himself. She never got any gratitude from him; she wouldn’t bother in the future!

She crashed into Minnie as she walked round the corner; Minnie was too in a bad mood. “All he ever does is whinge about how he can do it himself and he doesn’t need me interfering! Well I wont!” Minnie scowled and crossed her arms.

“I know! Danny is exactly the same!” Toots sighed. “I say we just leave them to deal with their own problems now!” She slumped down on the floor. “Why can’t they just be friends?”

Minnie’s eyes widened and then smirked. “Well why don’t we make that happen?”

I got an idea! This story is going to be about Minnie and Toots trying to get Dennis and Danny to be friends! Please review!
