Chapter 1: welcome to Santa Barbara

They had left their life behind and come to this quiet and relaxing place to enjoy their family and build the restaurant they had always dreamed of.

“Come on kids!” Leo called his children from inside the house; Piper and Leo had now been married for 18 years and had 5 kids.

“Dad can you tell me again why we had to move?” Wyatt asked his father

“Because of the restaurant” Leo told him

“You’re going to like it here” Piper said

“Yeah right” he said angrily

They were taking a nice walk on the beach when they saw a little boy sitting alone on the sand “Hey there” Leo said politely “Are you lost?”

“Alex!” a woman shouted and ran towards the boy “there you are” she said in relief.

“Mom!” a boy said approaching the woman “we…”

“Why did you let him run like that?” she asked

“I ran” Alex said in defense of the stranger

“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude” the woman said to the estrangers who had been listening to the whole conversation one, she had insulted

“That’s ok” piper said “I do the same things with my kids all the time, by the way I’m piper”

“Kate, you have very nice kids” she said looking at them “I bet you are new in the neighborhood” she said

“Yeah, we’ve just move”

“That’s great, why don’t you come and sit with us” she offered

It had been a week, since they had met the Shepard family: Kate, Jack and their kids, because it was summer, they went to the beach like twice a day

One day, they were invited to a party at the neighborhood

“Oh come on bro” Chris told Wyatt “it’s going to be fun”

“For you, but not for me” he said

“Why do you always have to be mad?”

“I’m mad, because I don’t want to go, and I have to”

“Maybe you’ll met someone” he told him

“Yeah, maybe” Wyatt said

“Hurry up boys!” piper shouted

“so, are you coming or what?” Chris asked him

“I guess I can try” he said as they were heading downstairs

“Ready?” their father asked, on the car

“Were, are we going anyway?” Pete asked

“To Jack’s house” his mother said
