A/N: Hey, everyone! I finally wrote A DMC fic. Yay! The environment is AU but the characters are not OOC. They’re the same as they are in the games. I just couldn’t change their personalities. Okies, so, some points:
-Arkham and Lady are not related.
-Cerberus is five times smaller than his actual size.
-Nero is a try-hard.
-Arkham is more of a moron than usual.
-Non-cartoon sex videos have not been invented!
And last but not least, I do hope you enjoy this story.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Devil May Cry’s or any of its characters!!
It was just as well this was a slack school, because if he hadn’t been able to wear his red trench coat with his chest bare, he would have been pissed.
Cerberus, the miniature version of the real one, was currently sitting on the ground in front of him, looking much like an ice statue rather than a living, breathing animal. The hell dog raised his three heads and looked in three different directions. His hackles rose and a feral growl rumbled in his chest.
“Vergil.”
At the mention of the name, Dante’s expressionless eyes suddenly became bright and mischievous. So, his pain-in-the-arse brother had finally turned up on campus with his usual crony, Arkham, commonly known as Jester since he liked to dress up as a ridiculous looking clown and parade around like a moron. The devil rose to his feet with an enthusiastic leap that required no effort whatsoever. “Yeah, I know. Let’s go say hi.”
Cerberus padded after the half-demon, his three heads swivelling in different directions as he surveyed the new students with much scrutiny. Nonchalantly, Dante’s hands drifted to rest behind his back over his guns, underneath Rebellion. He could never be too sure whether or not his brother wanted to play.
Vergil, in his trademark blue trench stepped into the front courtyard and a look of immense distaste crossed his handsome features. To think there were humans this year, accompanying demons. His cold blue eyes drifted through the faces of students until he saw one bobbing towards him. His hand slid to Yamato almost by reflex but Arkham placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Tolerance, Vergil.” His older friend coaxed to him. “Wait until he starts acting like a moron.”
“Hey! Nice insult, clown. I never knew you could be such a hypocrite!” Dante chuckled as he stopped a few paces from where they stood. Cerberus came to stand supportively beside him.
“I am not being a hypocrite, Dante. I am merely stating a fact that you seem to think is somehow related to me as well?” Arkham raised an enquiring eyebrow; his mismatched eyes stared challengingly into Dante’s.
The son of Sparda cocked his head, placed his weight on one leg, folded his arms and leant to the right; a completely nonchalant pose that did nothing to help Vergil’s slowly rising agitation.
“Says the old man who runs around in a clown costume all day,”
“It’s not a clown costume.”
“Oh, really? What is it then?”
“It’s a schizophrenic thing.”
Dante snorted with uncontained mirth and threw his arms up in the air. “Thanks for admitting that - saves me beating it out of you, or shooting.”
Arkham’s lip curled at the mention of violence and he leaned forward until his nose was almost touching Dante’s. The half-demon took a conscience step back. He never appreciated someone invading his personal space deliberately. That was for the women only. As the thought passed him by, his eyes drifted away from the ugly clown in front of him to where a very delicious female was entering the front gates. His mouth curved into a boyish smirk and Vergil, Arkham and Cerberus followed his gaze with much curiosity.
Lady walked confidently through the front gates, proud that she’d arrived early. She’d just been transferred from her previous all-human high school to this demon infested populace. Her eyes scanned the crowd around her for potential trouble-makers. She failed to see the group of four staring at her like she’d grown two heads.
“Hey there, sweet heart, are you new?”
Mismatched eyes moved to regard the young man who had been creeping up behind her. He was certainly a handsome one, with his silvery hair and blue eyes. His clothing was a mix of dark reds and black, probably leather. Her eyes regarded his right arm and the handle of a sword slung across his back. She did not miss the impressive gun.
“Yes. I am. And you are?”
He smiled at her and bowed from the waist. “Nero.”
Such formality surprised her. He was obviously half-demon, or had some sort of connection to the race because of his arm. Normally, any being that had the trace of a demon in them did not know the meaning of manners. This one obviously did.
“My name is Lady.”
“Lady? That’s a little weird.”
“So is Nero.”
“Touché,”
Dante watched the two young seniors with a challenge working itself into his mind. He’d seen that guy before but hadn’t given him a second glance. The girl was definitely new. The half-demon tossed his head and began to walk over to them when his arm was suddenly clenched in an iron-grip. Twin sets of blue eyes met and both were filled with possession.
“You’ve got a strong grip there, bro.”
“Naturally, it’s only right that I should to handle run-about delinquents like yourself.”
“Ouch. That’s cold, Vergy.”
“Don’t call me Vergy, Dante.”
“Aww. Is little Vergy gettin’ angry? That’s new.”
Vergil’s spiked hair seemed to produce electricity as he glared narrowly into his siblings eyes.
“If you call me that just one more time, I will throw you over the high school roof.”
The height of the high school roof was just a little daunting. How could anyone manage to throw a tennis ball over it let alone a lean, but heavily built male? Dante scrutinized him carefully before he grinned.
“Vergy.”
In a blindingly fast movement that only a skilled demon could match, Vergil grabbed his brother, spun on his heel and threw him, beginning to smirk as he saw his brother fly away. What he wasn’t expecting was a hand to snap onto his wrist at the last second and drag him up into the air as well. Dante crowed with delight as the two continued to soar over the group of students who had begun to look up. The ones that new them well laughed but new students just looked confused and slightly fearful.
“Isn’t this fun, Vergy?” Dante shouted over the roar of the wind. He had his legs stretched out, with his arms crossed behind his head as an imaginary pillow. Vergil had his legs and arms crossed with a malevolent expression on his already cold features.
“I hate you.”
“And I love you too, brother, dear.”
And after all that, they landed on the roof, perfectly unscathed.
Lady had watched the two with an overly curious expression. Even from where she was, she could see that both were very handsome and were most definitely twins yet their personalities were much different. Her eyes met theirs and she looked at the ground, a blush colouring her cheeks.
“What are you blushing about?” Nero asked before he followed her previous gaze and his eyes narrowed. The two Sons’ of Sparda, head’s raised, and eyes dominant as they looked down their noses at him, looked more magnificent than anything had a right to. Once, he’d feared Dante, but no longer since he found out that the rough-looking half-demon was nothing more than a fluffy kitten compared to his brother. Though both had tremendous fighting abilities, Vergil still surpassed him in more ways than one.
And now, by the looks of things, he was going to be fighting them over this lady. A three-way battle for one hot chick.
What was the world coming to?
Nero had given her a quick ran down of the two men on the roof. Dante: the wild, yet sarcastically friendly run-around who loved aggravating his brother and getting admiring glances from women.
Vergil: the obviously older twin who disliked his brother so much that he sometimes attempted to kill him. Cold, merciless and popular with the ladies but he rarely dated.
And now this cold, emotionless man was staring at her. She was very much the doe-caught-in-headlights at that moment so she simply stared back until her teacher interrupted her rather rudely.
“Please take your seat. Hmm. Only one free. Vergil, do you mind if the young lady sits next to you?”
Please, Lady begged to herself, please say no.
Vergil smiled, and it wasn’t half as pleasant as it sounded. “Of course not,”
Lady walked down between the aisle of desks and took her seat next to the intimidating half-demon somewhat timidly. Fancy that. A Demon Hunter that was scared of a half-demon. She had faced much worse than a devil with good looks. It was just as well she hadn’t been informed that he and his brother were the sons of the Mighty Sparda.
“Now, class-” the teacher began before there was a rather loud bang and the door was flung open. Dante stood in the doorway and several girls in the classroom sighed dreamily. Lady could do nothing but stare at the other twin.
“Turns out I’m smarter than I thought I was.” Dante shrugged nonchalantly and handed his papers to the teacher before sauntering down the aisle to his brother’s desk where he planted his hands firmly on the wood and leaned forward. Lady’s breath hitched in her throat as her feminism reacted to the close proximity of the powerful male. The whole class could feel the masculine power emitted from the two males as they stared at each other.
“Sup, Vergy? Hey there, pretty lady. Who might you be?”
“L-lady,”
Dante’s eyes warmed and her heart fluttered hyperactively. “It suits you.”
Vergil rolled his eyes to the ceiling and his booted-foot collided with Dante’s shin, successfully knocking him off balance. The half-demon windmilled for a moment before he regained his balance and shot a sulking look at his brother.
“No need to get jealous.”
“Jealous? You moved into this classroom. Don’t even start with me.”
“I just did.”
Lady looked between the two uneasily and wondered what they were fighting about but didn’t have the guts to ask so she just said, “Can you guys shut up, already? Some of us wish to learn.”
Vergil and Dante turned to stare at her, so did the whole class for that matter. She sank further into her chair, unwilling to meet their gazes. What had she done wrong? Was expressing her passion for learning such a crime in this school? Dante blinked uncomprehendingly at her. He wasn’t used to being interrupted with his fights, especially with his brother. Most people just let them beat each other up and laugh about it later. This girl certainly did have guts. Vergil was following much the same thought pattern but he was considering punishing her for such an intrusion in male dominance. A smirk slowly made its wave to his lips as he inconspicuously ran his eyes up and down the length of her trimmed body. She had curves and the fiery personality that attracted him. She would be his; without a doubt. Dante noticed Vergil’s leering gaze and his fist curled, determined to imprint itself on his brother’s nose. It did just that, with more blood, mind you.
Crimson liquid splashed onto the desk and streamed down Vergil’s front. Lady was able to dive into the aisle just as the two males went crashing over the desk, fists and feet flying everywhere. What was going to happen when the weapons came out?
Students cheered the pair on as the teacher ran out to get some assistance.
Lady could do nothing but watch as the two tumbled around the floor, punching and kicking each other while students leapt out of the way. It was only when the two got to their feet did the cheering suddenly come to a swift end. Rebellion was suddenly glittering in the sunlight streaming in from the window and Yamato was just thirsting for blood. The students cleared out as fast as they could before the real fighting began. Lady was still prone on the floor, her eyes wide and disbelieving. The rumours were truer than she thought. These two siblings would kill each other, given the chance. Apparently, every time that they had gotten into such a fight, someone had always been there to stop them. Lady scanned the room. It was just her and the two half-demons. She rose slowly to her feet, as though any fast movement would spur them into a bloodthirsty battle. She had to stop them.
“Better put the sword away, Vergy. I wouldn’t want you to cut yourself.” Dante taunted as the two circled each other, their swords almost touching.
“You are so pathetic it makes me want to gag.”
“Go ahead, then. My fingers will be crossed that you somehow choke on air.”
The two growled threateningly at each other and raised their swords to fight before a voice sliced through the air.
“Stop acting like kids! You’re teenagers, for crying out loud!”
Dante automatically sheathed Rebellion and sauntered over to her. “Well, actually, we’re adults. We just chose to start high school later than most.”
Vergil returned Yamato to its sheath and followed Dante over to the young woman. This was going too far. It was time Dante knew that he had first dibs on women first, and there was only one way to do it with an outright question.
“Lady,” Vergil addressed her and mismatched eyes met his curiously as to why he was talking to her. “It’s either me or Dante. Take your pick.”
“Great minds think alike.” Dante said cheerfully.
Lady wheeled back in surprise. Had they been fighting over her all this time? Ever since this morning?
Flattered though she was, she wasn’t some lustful girl that had an intention of having a relationship with either of these two men. It was very unlikely that either of them could be committed in a long-term relationship.
“I don’t quite understand your question. Are you asking me who I’d go out with or hang out with?”
“Both.” The two answered simultaneously before glaring at each other.
Lady had never been more confused in her entire life and no answer she could give today would be appreciated by either of them.
“Well…I’m not really interested in having a relationship at the moment and if I hung out with one of you, the other would just get angrier so…um…”
And then it just went around in a circle, completing back-tracking thanks to Dante.
“I saw her first, Vergil.”
Lady watched the fight that acted much like a tennis match, with her head flicking to the left and right until her neck ached from the intense abuse. Two men had never fought over her, so why should these two have any reason to? Help had not yet arrived and the students that had left obviously knew that Dante and Vergil don’t have five minute feuds. Lady sighed through her nose and sat down on the desk. Her movement acted like a beacon and they stopped in their verbal fight to stare at her.
Nero came barraging into the room with his clawed hand glowing and pulsating with suppressed power. The bell for next class rang and Lady basically skipped to Nero’s side since he just happened to be in her next class.
“Come on, Dante. You’re in our class, too.” Nero said stiffly.
“Oh, yeah. Right.” Dante shot an amused look at his brother and the three walked out of the classroom. Vergil stared at his boots for a moment before he whispered, “Punishment is in order for you, Lady.”
“Arkham.” Was the half-demon’s greeting without even looking up before he strode to his desk at the front. Vergil had always been the little English angel. The schizophrenic man giggled as the teacher finally entered the classroom and suddenly found himself wet and drenched. The ceiling is raining! (A/N: Oh, yeah. I win with creativeness. Just kidding)
Vergil shook his head. “Moron.”
Dante wriggled impatiently in his seat and tossed an arm nonchalantly over Lady’s shoulder and smirked when she tensed.
“Are you a virgin?” he whispered huskily into her ear.
She could do nothing but nod honestly towards him, her eyes fixed on the couple as they entered through the main doorway.
Nero glanced at Dante but said nothing.
“You’re going to like this then. I’ve seen this one a thousand times. It’s pretty graphic. Most of the guys have to walk out half-way through to find their girlfriends.” He whispered before laughing quietly.
Bright red coloured her cheeks but she couldn’t help her innocent curiosity. “Did you walk out?”
She looked up at him and could dimly see his blue eyes glowing lustfully in the dark.
“Honey, I’ve walked out every single time with a girl.”
Gulping inconspicuously, she turned back to the T.V, trying with all her might to ignore the masculine arm resting on her shoulder. Her hands automatically went to her eyes as the couple striped and became mind-bogglingly intimate. Well, at least Dante wasn’t a liar. Seeing as she couldn’t block her eyes, she could hear the moans and groans and also the heavy breathing of the students around her. She peeked from beneath her fingers at Nero who had his head on the desk, muttering. It took all her courage to sneak a peek at Dante and she regretted it since she saw the T.V screen and the expression on his face. With both combined, she became aroused almost instantly.
“Come with me.” He breathed huskily, his hand reaching to grasp hers firmly. Lady didn’t really have a choice as he pulled her up and rushed her out of the classroom before the teacher even noticed. Several others followed them and hurried down the hallways. Lady could barely keep up with him as he strode powerfully down the hall and suddenly threw open a door to an empty classroom before slamming it shut as soon as they were in. Only now did conscious thought come racing back to meet her logic. She did not wish to have sex. Yes, she was aroused, and yes she might have curious thoughts but when she really did do the most intimate thing that humans could do together, she wanted it to be with someone that loved her and who she loved in return.
Dante grinned boyishly at her but it faded as he saw the fear and the timid way that she held her body, as if to protect herself. Almost instantly his hands came up in front of his body, palms towards her.
“Hey, hey. Settle, petal. I ain’t gonna hurt you.”
“Maybe not physically.” She snapped despite herself. Dante groaned. So, she was the sensitive type that wanted to leave her virginity for someone who wouldn’t ditch her. Usually, Dante could tell how long he would be with a woman before he even had sex with her. As he looked over this young lady, he wasn’t so sure. There was just something about her…something about her that compelled his inner demon to want to protect her from everything; from try-hard Nero and his iceberg of a brother. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly and sighed. Lady had not relaxed her tense stance and though her eyes told of her reaction to the video, her body did not.
Dante advanced on her and she backed up until she was perched on the teacher’s desk. He placed his hands on either side of her and leaned in, smirked, and pressed his lips very gently against hers. Her gasp was quiet, almost muted, but it gave Dante the chance to convince her and his tongue slid inside her mouth, caressing her tongue.
Lady had fallen into a ridiculous daze, her mind a puddle of goo as Dante kissed every logical thought out of her. No matter how much she tried to call the intellect back, it refused to. Lady arched her back as his teeth grazed her neck and his hands slithered under her shirt to rub teasing circles into her smooth flesh. Her arms wrapped around his neck of their own accord. Dante smirked momentarily before he claimed her lips in another lazy, but passionate kiss as he nudged her legs aside to stand between them. Lady moaned softly as he pressed himself against her, surprised at the feeling it wrought deep within her. Throbbing with want, she wrapped her legs around his waist and her teeth nipped at his ear before a pink tongue flicked out to sooth the bite marks. Dante breathed out sharply. This woman…a virgin she may be, but uneducated she was not.
Her lips wandered down, nipping and suckling the skin along his collar bone as he forced every single body in his muscle to just stop before he had his way with her. She kissed down the visible plain of his chest and slowly looked up to meet his eyes with an innocent expression on her face. Once again the logic had caught up and red coloured her cheeks.
“Oops?”
“Lady, just to let you know, if you continue doing this, you’re not going to have your virginity in the next five minutes.”
Lady smiled a completely feminine smile and lifted herself upwards so that she could stare into his gorgeous blue eyes. Dante smirked as he clasped his hands underneath her backside and moved away from the desk until he was supporting her completely. She only just managed to keep her cool.
“I’m not going to have sex with you.”
His eyes glinted mischievously. “Logic doesn’t win in these situations, you realise.”
The door slammed open and Nero stood there, gasping before he glared.
Lady grinned triumphantly. “Oh, really?”
“Shit!”
