Internet Dating

Chapter One : Commercial

L sighed to himself. Today he had told Light that he was his first friend, but L still felt lonely. How could he find someone to love? He was so depressed over this that he actually went to watch normal television and not to work on the Kira Case. He wanted to have someone who would like him for who he truly was and didn't know that he was THE detective. He needed to show who he was before he showed them how he looked because he thought he'd frighten them away if they got a look at him without knowing how good of a person he was.

The show he was watching was about some talking sponge that lived under water and was a frycook. This show was so ridiculous because it showed fire under water, how was possible? Now it was time for the commercials. First came this immensely annoying commercial for some stuff you rubbed on your head to make a headache go away, the commercial repeated that you 'apply directly to the forehead' 4 times! Silently he cursed this product. Nothing appealing was on anymore so he popped in one of his many "adult" videos that only he knew about.

He watched his "adult" video for an hour and then went to bed to...cough cough... 'finish his business', then took a shower. He went to sleep and had pleasant dreams. He dreamed he had a partner to share love with and that they truly cared about him. L knew that Light really didn't care about him but it was nice to pretend. He wanted a special friend.

In the morning when he woke up he got dressed to go visit his 'friend' Light. When Watari was driving him to To-Oh he got a little perked up knowing that Light didn't have love either. Sure all the woman flocked to him but Light didn't seem in the least bit interested. L knew Light didn't have a girlfriend to share love with either so it truly made him happy, even if its selfish.

Light and him were walking to get food when this bubbly girl jumped on Light! She was practically molesting him. Then she said the words that ruined L's day "Raito-kun my BOYFRIEND!" Why did Light have a girlfriend. It made his theory all wrong and it made him the only lonely one out there. The only other person he knew that was lonely was Matsuda, but L doubted Matsuda would be lonely for long. Because at least Matsuda was funny, nice, and most important didn't look like a zombie! L sighed in fustration and self-consiousness.

Then L took another look at Light girlfriend. He recognized her! She was on A LOT of the "adult" videos he had! He smiled to himself knowing that he knew what Misa looked like naked and Light didn't. It was obvious they hadn't taken their relationship far yet. It still didn't make him feel better that Light actually would get to sleep with someone he wanted while L was reduced to...coughs again...simulating it.

That night when L came back he felt even worse! He felt so bad that he didn't even want to watch one of his 'special' movies. He tuned on the television again but this time was watchiing some show about people in a singing competition, and it got judged by 3 judges and one of the judges had an awful accent and was extremely rude, the show took place in the U.S.A.

The commercials came on again, but this time one of them caught his attention. It had couples proclaiming that they found eachother over this website. They looked so happy. The wwebsite's purpose was to match people on interest and compatability. This was his answer! He had to check out this website and find his true love!
