Chapter 1: The Storyteller.

The future, 70 years after the Pirate King, StrawHat Luffy, started the New Age of Piracy.

"Impel Down?" The children were wide-eyed at the mention of that infamous prison "They managed to break out of there?"

"Not just break out! Those lunatics decided to break in!" The Old Storyteller let out a wheezing laugh, there was a sound like rustling leaves as he folded his eyes and looked thoughtful.

"They never did follow the crowd, but even the Captain admitted that it was a bit much, amazing to think that he actually realised that, considering…"

"Then, if the Pirate King knew of the dangers." He was interrupted eagerly "Why did he and his crew decide to go?"

"Why? Well, some say that, to him, it was just a new adventure, but, I know the truth," The Old Man paused dramatically, leaning towards his grandchildren and speaking in no more than a whisper.

"And I'll tell you, but you must swear never ever to tell another soul! Swear on your dreams!"

The children nodded seriously, excited at taking this extremely solemn oath. Their Grandpa's eyes sparkled.

"He went to save…his brother. FireFist Ace!"

"WHAT?" Amazed looks all round. "The Pirate King and Pirate Emperor were brothers?"

The Old Man grinned and sat back, pleased with his audience's reaction.

"Yep, Dragon was their father. God what a family! But, of course, they didn't have their titles back then. I think after they became that infamous they decided to keep their brotherhood quiet. No use giving anyone else a heart attack. I know I almost had one." The Old Man chuckled again, a dry sound.

A figure came and stood in the archway to the garden, calmly watching the scene unfold.

"Hey Grandpa, how do you know so much?" The eldest grandson spoke "You weren't one of those marines were you? 'Cos that would mean you were against the King, wouldn't that make you a bad guy?"

The Storyteller laughed outright at that.

"You're forgetting that he was the Pirate King. But in those days, marines weren't all good and pirates weren't all bad. Luffy always blurred that line; it was hard to tell if what you were doing was right or wrong, especially when you were around that man."

The Old man kept his eyes fixed on the still figure in the archway the entire time he was speaking. The visitor finally stepped forward.

"It's good to see that you kept your faith…Old Man." Again the Storyteller let off his wheezing laugh.

"My friend! Long time no see." Despite his cheerful greeting his voice was hesitant.

"For you maybe…" But her cold tone disappeared as a smile broke through. "Missed you, you idiot."

The children had been watching the conversation with growing interest.

"Grandpa?" One of them finally spoke up "Who's this lady? Is she going to tell us a story too?" After all, many of Grandpa's friends had interesting tales or habits.

"Well…I don't know." There was a mischievous glint in the Old Man's eyes "She might not know any good ones."

"Oh I do Old Man." The guest made herself comfortable on the floor by the children and began to speak.

"This is a story about time, a mistake, an adventure, about an enemy that shouldn't have existed…and a journey that changed a lot of people in many different ways."

Her dark eyes met his and he nodded slowly, he knew this one, how could he not?

"It all started with two members of a certain pirate crew…Cat Thief Nami and the man known only as Sogeking."

Hey- I'm back!

I had no idea what to write but then this came into my head, but I dunno id it'll go anywhere…oh well, there's always hope.
