To Save Earth with Sonic the Hedgehog and Jimmy Neutron

Chapter 1

It is a nice, sunny day in Belgium. People were just walking about on the sidewalks, minding their business whilst going here and there. Cars were driving about on the streets and highways, creating traffic jams here and there, much to their annoyance.

Let's zoom in on a particular town...

Tongeren, the oldest city in Belgium, was currently nearly empty of traffic. Even when there were quite some cars driving on the road-ring that circles the uptown and downtown, since the tourists searched for a parking spot, the city streets could handle the traffic that did come. Since it was sunny and quite warm, many motorcyclists and moped drivers were driving about, most of them going somewhere, some of them just driving around without any target or goal to reach. I was also one of those moped drivers, getting angry at the rest of the drivers and their somewhat dangerous driving skills...

*MMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPP!!!*

I push my horn while my tires screech ever so slightly. I'm breaking way too hard, for a car had come from the right, out of a crossing street. The driver didn't even check if there was any traffic coming, and he had to give way to me. I make the "Are you out of your mind?!"-sign with my hand after I stopped within 1 meter, stopping just an inch before the damn moron's front bumper, and the driver of the car just stuck up his middle finger to me.

'Why I ought to...'

But before I could respond with a middle finger of my own, the driver drove away. And stopped again after he felt a jolt from the left, since he did hit me this time and left me a bended front wheel-fork.

'Stupid idiot.'

I chuckle to myself, since this accident is his loss and my favor. Then, not to my surprise, he gets out of his car and tells me to solve this problem by myself. Luckily for me, two police men just happened to be nearby and tell the man to 'do things by the book', so he apologizes, and then we make up the insurance papers, and handle everything. I drove away again carefully, after he politely said sorry to me, if not being forced to by the police.

Now I was driving on a quiet piece of the ring road that circles the main town part, still concentrating on everything in front of me and eyeing all the places where anything could come onto the street, since steering properly was now nearly impossible for me. I saw a traffic light with the green signal on, and I drove carefully through the connected intersection, until I saw this blue, anthropomorphic hedgehog. It wore red sneakers with a white line going across each shoe, a golden buckle on one end of the line. He looked to be about 4 foot tall. It looked at me for a second...

Before speeding off, reaching Mach 1 in not even a second.

I still look at the same spot, of where I thought he would be, until after a second I realized he was gone. Yet, at the same time I felt like something else was wrong. What was it again..?--

*CRASH! CLANG!*

I jolt forward about 10 feet, then fall, losing balance out of surprise. I nearly get crushed below the weight of my 238-pounds heavy moped, and then remember what exactly I realized a few moments ago.

I braked in the middle of an intersection for nothing.

I quickly crawl from under my moped, and then lift it off the ground to set it on its stander. I check myself for any injuries, and then, seeing and finding none, I look to see who hit me. It was a red Citroën C3, and I remember it to be property of my ex-girlfriend's mother, who was currently driving it, with my ex also being in that car. The bumper couldn't take the pressure it got and fell right off after the hit. They get out of their car, and her mother seems furious.

"Why the HELL did you stop in the middle for an intersection?! There wasn't even a damn car in front of you! I couldn't stop safely anymore! What the hell did you see that made you stop so fast?" She nearly yelled at me, and then miraculously calms down again.

"Sorry for that, that just... all had to get out." She said it silently, smiling, and then she frowns again. "Now, really, what did you supposedly see that made you brake dangerously fast?" she asks me.

"If I told you, you wouldn't ever believe me..," both I and Elena, my ex, answer at the same time. Her mother and I look at Elena weirdly, while she looks back at her mother, blushing slightly.

"I think I saw what he saw, but, again: you wouldn't believe it, because you were watching Jona, and not the intersection's center," she stated. I let this information register in my mind for a short while, and then I look at the damage I created.

"I'm in very serious trouble..."

"You bet you are, young man, because you're not getting any money anymore until you paid the bill we'll get for that moped and car!" My mother yells to me after I came home in Riemst with a moped so damaged it could hardly drive. The only things that did work were the engine miraculously, the starter, the blinkers, and my braking light, although its glass was shattered. The rest just fell out during the drive home.

"I know, mom..." I say, embarrassed, since it was kind of shaming of how I got home. Then again, I understand her tone, since this would be the very first major accident I've ever had, not counting the first one I had today.

Yet, I was also shocked, since I wouldn't get any money for the next three months, at least. That meant I couldn't pay the gas for my moped anymore, so the gas tank will be empty after another drive...

"Now, go to your room! I don't want to see you until dinner's ready!" my mother adds, then stomps away to look at my moped again, and probably to call the mother of my ex, the owner of the car. I sigh, and then heave myself upstairs. I touch the doorknob of my bedroom...

*CCCRRRAAASSSHHH!!!*

I release the doorknob, turn straight around and race downstairs again to look out of the window. There I see a giant robot, as big as the house I live in, in front of our door, but looking away from it. A door on the side slides open, and a megaphone comes out of it.

"Greetings, citizens of this village!" a voice bellows, while the citizens come out of their houses to see what and who made the noise. "My name is Dr. Eggman and I am going to turn this beautifully stupid town into the future Eggman Empire! You're all better going to obey me, or else you'll meet your doom..."

'What the hell...' I think, 'a video game character that wants to take over the town? How pathetic! Wait... How in the world did he even get here?'

"Now, since I only just got here," he continues, "this might take a while to start, so, until then, I'll capture you all!" The push of a button is heard. "Bwahahahahaha....!"

An electrical net shoots out of the front of the robot, and captures every single person it can, which is about three-fourth of the town. I watch in horror and shock as I watch my parents and brother, who probably also were outside, and a few people I know being carried inside the robot, to a huge compartment which has a glass wall in my direction. My parents and brother are the first to walk up to the glass and look outside, though not at me. Many other line up next to them, they all seem so scared...

"Now, I'm also looking for a person going by the name of Jona Steurs!" he then continues. I freeze at the name.

'Jona Steurs... He must mean me. I guess I should show myself, before he starts to smash the place with God-knows-what-kind-of rocket,' I think, until he adds "If he'd please come out of his house and present himselves to me? I promise no harm at all!”

'...Well, so he won't smash the place. Still, I'd better show up...' I finish my thought and go the front door outside, and head up to the front of the robot, where I now also could see the Dr. Eggman in his glorious Egg Flyer. The moment I clear my throat, he, as well as the captured citizens, notice me.

"Hm?" he says as soon as I mentioned myself's appearance. "Oh, so you must be... Jona, I presume?" he then said, grinning.

"How the hell do you know my name? You said a few minutes ago that you only just arrived!" I say, and then cross my arms. He loses his grin and frowns at me.

"I just do, brat! Now, to get to business..." He says, losing his frown and grinning again. He then pushes another button, which lets a glass dome fall over me. The dome that could easily fit three times me shattered when it fell on the ground. I cowered in fear and defended myself out of protection, and then a metal dome-shaped machine lowered above me.

"Bwahahaaa!" Eggman laughs that laugh of his, which snaps me back to reality again, and makes me see what that shadow was that lowered above me. "This machine is designed to change appearances! Be ready to be transformed into my furry slave... But don't think too much, or your thoughts might screw you up!"

This made me cower even more in fear, right before the moment I realized something.

'Hmm... "Your thoughts might screw you up"... What happens if I think of my fan character?' I think, quickly envisioning my fan character which represents me in my head, right before I get an unbearable pain all over my body. I scream in agony as I feel my body reforming. I scream as I feel myself changing into something different...

A minute passes with me screaming like hell. Then, when the transformation's almost done...

"Hey, Eggy! I heard an invitation for a party, so I thought I'd drop by! Did'ya miss me?"

"Rhaa! Curse you, Sonic the hedgehog!"
