To Save Earth With Sonic And The Rest

Chapter 5

After I returned home from a spectacularly fun drive with my moped, I parked it in the garage again. Then I went to sit on the couch, and told Sonic and the rest of how the drive has been.

"It has been SO much fun," I told them excitedly, "everyone was looking, staring, gaping at the vehicle. I think I almost even caused a small accident with people staring at it," I said, chuckling a bit.

"Speeding up used less to no effort. The length needed for braking safely was still the same. Oh, and--"

I get interrupted by the MSN sound which tells that someone sent you a message. Seeing that no-one was behind the computer I sit next to and not remembering that I logged myself in, I get up and look who sent something, now also not remembering that I left the computer speakers on. I see the message is from my very good friend from Canada, Lizz, and, when I read it, it seems she's delighted to see me. I get the feeling of butterflies in my stomach (which I usually get when I talk to her), but the feeling rapidly subsided when I saw what she actually sent.

"Jona!!" she sent. I could tell she was happy to see-- ...ahem, 'Chat with' me. "Thank god you're online! Some wrong stuff happened here!" I receive shortly afterwards. This made me feel worried.

"How wrong is the stuff?" I sent back.

"Um, it's VERY wrong stuff!" she answered quickly.

"Then what happened?" I asked.

"Well, yesterday this anthropomorphic, red, TALKING squirrel with a blue zip-up vest came to my house and politely asked for a roof to sleep under for the night. I was totally freaked out at first -I still am, though- but I hesitantly allowed it and invited him in, since the weather forecast said it was going to be a pretty rough night," she said. She continued shortly afterwards.

"Okay, so he sleeps on the couch for the night, he agreed to that. The next morning, I, together with the squirrel who I later found out was named Conker, awake in some sort of laboratory, each strapped on a science table with shackles."

"Metal walls, metal floors, metal ceilings all over the place. The tables we were on were also made of metal, just everything was of metal. No windows, no doors- or at least I thought so..." And now she waited, probably expecting me to say something. I got so caught up in the story I didn't even notice she stopped until after a while.

"So, then a door opened?" I sent her, doing a lucky guess.

"Yep. After 10 minutes or so with me and Conker talking the door straight across from us opened, and guess who entered the room?" she asked.

"Eggman?" Another lucky guess.

"Yep!" she answered quickly. My body freezes, out of shock. I felt my face go cold; it probably turned pale. The rest comes to stand around me (without me noticing), following the conversation. They probably noticed my face getting pale, and figured something was wrong.

"What did Eggman turn you into?" I ask her after a few moments of silence, having a hunch of what's coming next.

"..."

Silence.

"A hawk. An anthropomorphic one," she finally answered after another few moments of silence. She probably didn't see that question coming. "Jona, do you know what's happening?" she sent after a moment of silence. I thought about possible options for a short while, and can only come up with one; probably the best option at the time. I decide to ignore her question, since it'd be answered anyway.

"Lizz, I'm coming over to Canada," I send her. This probably makes her partly super-happy, since we're in a long-distance relationship. But, now I'm being serious, and I think -I hope- she partly knows that too. Eggman was already in Canada, so that means he already had something new to start over with.

The rest take this as their cue to leave the house through the backdoor (again, without me noticing) and prepared the spaceship that was re-landed in an open field behind our house.

"Why, what's the matter?" she asks. She knows I am serious about coming. I decide it's best she knows why I'm coming there, so I decide to tell her.

"I got turned into an anthropomorphic hedgehog with bat and fox additions by Eggman," I send her. "Don't ask me how -they can explain that- but Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails -the two-tailed fox-, and a few others are here. They can take me there, since they came in their spaceship."

"And how long would that take?" she asks. "I could definitely use your help!"

"I think about a few hours, give or take a few minutes," I answer her, not bothering to ask (the absent) Tails the would-be duration.

"Okay, sounds fine by me. Can I continue my story now?" she then asks.

"Yeah, you can," I answer, "sorry for interrupting." And in a short while, she went on.

"So there he was, the Dr. Eggman, in all his glory. The red suit with the black pair of trousers that melt into boots at the end seemed to fit him as good as ever, as well as the goggles and other additions and clothing he had... I can still see it so detailed in front of me..."

He grinned evily as he went to Lizz' table, then walked in between her and Conker (who was laying down next to Lizz on the other table), and stopped in between the two. Eggman spoke up after a few moments of silence, making both Lizz and Conker look up at her.

"Welcome to the laboratory of my base, Lizz and Michael. Did you enjoy your rest?" he said, making the squirrel growl a bit and Lizz just glared at him.

"Why did you take us and brought us in our sleep here, you bastard?" Lizz asked, making Eggman lose his grin and turn to her. "Why did you do this? And why do you call Conker 'Michael'?" she continued, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. She growled a bit, too. If she only could get up...

"Conker?" Eggman said, sounding amused. He turned to the blue-vested squirrel, and grinned slightly whilst chuckling. "You decided to name yourself Conker?" More chuckling. "What kind of a name is that?"

"It's a name from a character that I just look like, OK?" Conker/Michael answered, whilst he did not sound amused at all. "Just call me Conker, otherwise I'll kick your big butt," he then continued, making Eggman lose his grin again. Eggman then lowered his face to level with Conker's, and frowned.

"You're lucky you're tied to that table; and that you can't do anything, otherwise I would've already electrocuted you," he said threateningly. He then raised upright again, and turned to Lizz again, looking her in the eyes.

"I just happened to have catched the adult earlier," he said. "I used some sleeping gas while he was asleep in his home, so he wouldn't get awake for a while, then I took him with me. He was the first-ever human test subject to be used by me, next to some boy from Belgium. I used a roboticizer and species-changing machine on him which turned him into a squirrel, making the roboticizer fail. Then, with his newfound agility, he got away before I could retrieve him again! Not very polite of him, is it?" he finished, and turned to Conker again, who was still glaring at his back - and now at his face.

"But I was precautious, because I've placed a tracker--" he said with a grin, making Lizz and Conker gasp "--in his pocket--" after which Eggman fished in Conker's pocket and got out a tiny black box with a flashing LED "--while he was asleep from the sleeping gas I used on him."

Conker gasped audibly again when he saw the box, and Lizz' eyes just widened. Conker then casted a worried and shocked look at Lizz for a moment, who casted a similar, but also a confused one, back to him. Eggman then fixated his vision on Lizz again, who also reverted her look from Conker's to Eggman's.

"So, with help from the tracker device, I managed to find him. I went up to the house, which was obviously different, and used the sleeping gas again," he continued.

"But this time I have snatched two prizes; simply by searching around some more in the same house! Isn't that just a geniusly good idea?" he then added triumphantly, and putted his hands behind his back whilst raising upright.

He turned around and walked away from the tables, slowly going to a console that was in front of the two captured ones. "And now, Lizz, you'll feel the same pain as he did," Eggman added and pushed a button on the console when he reached it after a few more steps.

A glass dome with technologic parts lowered over Lizz in an instant and engulfed her completely. As soon as the dome was completely down Eggman pushed another button, which made electric sparks ignite in the dome, the sparks being made by the technology inserted.

Two sparks then connected, forming a bright blue electric beam. The beam then broke in two and both beams aimed at Lizz, but didn't fry her. She still screamed in almost unbearable pain, as she glowed bright blue, and changed species in an instant.

When the bright blue light died down, Eggman pressed the same button (the one that lowered the dome) again, which made the dome rise and the fog which got created was now able to escape.

Lizz was still breathing deeply and chokingly - but she was no longer human. The species-changer made her a brown, anthropomorphic hawk. Wait, then what did the roboticizer exactly do...?

"WHAT?!" Eggman yells, sounding very outraged. "This simply isn't possible! That's the SECOND time IN A WEEK that I want to make someone a half robot, half animal, and the roboticizer FAILED the SECOND TIME IN A WEEK! ARGH!" He angrily smashed his fists on the computer desk, and unknowingly pushed 2 small, red buttons.

Suddenly the shackles, that held both Lizz and Conker tight to their table, got open with a slightly audible click. Conker silently jumped off, while Lizz did too, but not without hissing a bit under her breath in pain.

Lizz had become a hawk, because of Eggman's machine. It seemingly changed her whole outfit, too, for some reason. She has 4 black, thick bangs on her forehead, with a few hanging in front of her eyes a bit. She also wore a black, short-sleeved shirt with a red, sleeveless vest with a zipper. She wore white, fingertip-less gloves with a small purple line on the wrists. Her pants were black, with small orange belts around the knees, and she also wore a white cloth around her waist, with a knot in front. Her shoes were red with a white line on them, and a black strip was over the lining. She also wore a small, brown scarf.

"Hey, fatso!" Conker said when he and Lizz were near the door which slided open just then.

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME..." he yelled whilst turning around, but froze when he saw where Lizz and Conker were. The latter two were smirking while Lizz holded her waist with one arm, and Eggman's eyes simply widened a lot. You could even see the white of his eyes above the goggles he wears.

"Bye!" Conker said, and he and Lizz -the pain she felt was now mostly gone- dashed through the door.

The two 'Egg-fugutives' are now looking towards the exit, which was -surprisingly- right in front of their noses on the opposite side of the wide hallway. They made another mad dash for it, since a blue hedgehog-like robot -that resembled an awfully lot of Sonic- started firing at them from his loading station which was to the left of them. An automated turret also opened fire at them, which was to their right.

They made it out unharmed, and kept running for a longer while to make sure Eggman couldn't find them right away. After another while of running, they stopped to lean against a tree of the forest they runned in just seconds ago. Lizz closed her eyes and, after a while, Conker stood upright again and looked around. He seemed to be familiar with the surroundings.

"I'm calling in some help," Lizz then says, after a while. "It won't be much, but it will be something."

"Who then?" she heard Conker say, who now moved in front of her, ready to leave again. Lizz opened her eyes and saw that Conker was standing a few feet aways from her. She also saw that he was looking towards a dirt path in front of them, then he turned back around and looked at Lizz. "Well?" he asks again, sounding a bit impatient. "Who would that be, then?"

"A very good friend I have in Belgium. His name is Jona. Jona Steurs, and I do hope I said that correctly..."

"And then Conker and I walked back home. As soon as my mother opened the front door to my house she got suspicious about me, but when we explained what happened, she fainted," Lizz then says, finishing her story in a short summary. "That's when I decided to call to get your help, since I know I can trust you."

"I'm going to ask the rest here if we can go there now," I send her, "BRB."

"OK,", she sends back.

"Hey guys, how long do you think it'll take..." I ask when turning around to look at the rest.

They weren't there.

I quickly put two and two together to make four out of it. "They probably left towards the spacecraft after looking over my shoulder at the screen (oh, how I hate it when someone -anyone- does that). They must've followed the conversation long enough to know I wanted to leave," I think, then I turn back towards the computer screen, and tell Lizz I'm leaving right away. She agrees, we tell our good-byes, and I log out of MSN.

I grab my rain coat, say good-bye to my brother who came down from upstairs just then, tell him to tell my parents I left for a while (they had left the house to go to the store), and jog out of the house towards the cloaked spacecraft (I saw it cloak right in front of my eyes a few moments after it had landed yesterday). I stop in the middle of the field it had landed in, and, after a short while, I see a green-whiteish flash in front of my eyes. I don't bother to close my eyes, because they're somehow always used to such things (and the flash isn't all that bright), and -when the flash died down- I see that Shadow stands before me. He is gripping a green emerald in his right hand, which is softly glowing and humming.

"This question might seem illogical since you've probably never used or done it before, but are you used to Chaos Control?" he asks me, tossing the emerald in his hands a bit. I eye it shortly, and realize it must be a Chaos Emerald.

"Nope, but there's always a first time," I answer with a smirk, aiming my sight back up to his when I feel it on me. He smirks too, grabs hold of my wrist, and then we're gone in a bright flash. Not even a second passed by, or we were on the ship, in the command room.

Tails and Cream, the cream-tanned rabbit with long, flappy ears, were looking at a holographic projection of what seemed to be a TV-show; Tails was watching from the pilot's chair, and Cream was sitting on a small pillow on the ground, but right next to Tails. Sonic was next to Tails in the copilot's chair with his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes closed. And Knuckles was next to Rouge, who sat at the console, probably monitoring the gauges. Shadow is still standing next to me, not moving an inch; he let go of my hand, though.

It seems Tails and Cream are looking at a holographic image of a small boy with quite a big head. He has brown, ice cream cone-like hair, with the tip drooping downwards. He wears a red T-shirt with the symbol of some atom-like thingy in yellow in the center of the piece of cloth. He also wears blue jeans, and brown shoes. He seems to be at the age of 11, if I'm guessing correctly, and he also looks like he's as tall as Knuckles, although I can mistake myself about that last thing.

The boy's head was cast downwards, his arms were hanging at his sides seemingly lifeless, and he was walking down a road on the sidewalk, which was only partly projected. His lips were pouted just a bit, and his eyes sadly looked at the ground. I remember this person, the episode and the scene he's in, and can imagine the rest of the episode playing in my head, but I decide to ask how the HELL they know him.

"How do you know Jimmy Neutron?" I ask Shadow, who still stands next to me. He seemingly ignores the question. He's looking to his right, watching Amy intently (who's sitting in a chair reading a magazine). After a few moments of not hearing him answer, I turn to see he's still watching Amy, who winks to him; she must've noticed him looking at her. He's... in a trance, as you could call it; although he seems to keep his face straight. I snap my fingers in front of his face. He shakes his head, as if he was waking up, and turns his attention to me again, aiming his crimson eyes back to my hazelbrown ones. "Sorry?"

I hear Amy giggle slightly, but I keep my attention focused on Shadow. Amy then slowly puts her magazine down next to her on another chair, stands upright, and advances very slowly towards Shadow, eyeing him intently.

"I asked you how you know Jimmy Neutron?" I say. He turns to look quizically at the holographic image for a short while before smirking and chuckling softly.

"The boy genius that usually makes an invention that goes wrong, right?" he says, shocking me quite badly. I was able to nod slowly at his knowledge of 'the boy genius' before he continued. "He, if I am correct, is starring in a TV-show. He is the most popular of all TV-characters we see on TV. He's quite high on the rankings, too. If he were to be live with us; actually be alive in our reality, I mean; it'd be a dream come true for Tails and Cream, I think," he finished.

"Tails has every episode of the show. He also has the movie, and Cream has most of the dolls. They're his number 1 fan."

"Hey, Dweeptron!" a voice suddenly sounded. I look towards the screen where I see a blonde girl walk up to the boy, who turns to look at her. The girl was wearing a green striped shoulder-straps-top (A/N: Any name for this (if you know who I'm talking about)?), and some brown, half-long trousers. She also wears some purple-ish/brownish sneakers with white tips, and her hair was up in a ponytail.

"So, ya like me, huh?" she says, putting her hands on her softly swaying hips. "Well," she continues, "What're ya gonna prepare to do 'bout it?"

Just then Amy walked by the projector stand, heading for Shadow. She suddenly slipped on a tiny ball that a small, cute blue creature with a spiny head (property of Amy herself) has been playing with.

"Whoa!" she gasped when she hit the projector stand. She unknowingly pushed a button with her elbow, and a loud beeping alarm was heard as soon as she hit it, together with signaling red lights. Everyone looks up to see what's happening, and Tails gasped loudly before going to help Amy back up.

"What did I do, Tails?" Amy asked, sounding very shocked. She took Tails' outstretched hand and Tails hoisted her back up. She softly said her thanks to him, and he softly nodded in reply.

"It's okay; but, Amy... You pushed the realism button by accident!" he said when Amy looked shocked at the red alarm lights. I grew curious by the name and decide to ask Tails what it does. He answers quickly.

"It makes the characters - that currently are onscreen - actually, really alive!" he says, sounding VERY alarmed. "They'll be standing here in a few seconds! And I can't abort it, since it only takes a few seconds for the device to generate the two bodies! And--"

---[FLASH!]---

"Ahh!"

We all shield our eyes because of the sudden flash, which occured right after Tails finished his sentence. Another one erupted directly after the first one; which I unfortunately saw too (if not just a bit), so I was a bit blinded by the bright lights.

---[FLASH!]---

As soon as the lights died down, which was as good as right away, I unshielded my eyes. I look around, searching for what appeared in the room. I then notice two figures lying down on the ground, seemingly unconscious, on either side of me; the 'boy genius' on my right, and the blonde girl on my left.

The two persons - whom I know as James Isaac 'Jimmy' Neutron (the boy) and Cynthia Aurora 'Cindy' Vortex (the girl) - were lying knocked out on the floor.

And I...

...faint? Before everyone's eyes? What's going on?
