Wow, I updated for once? And it wasn't a previous chapter from another time. I've been getting thousands of emails of story alerts, fav stories and author alerts all because of this story. So instead of updating on Key's to her Heart, I decided to work on this little tyke.

I'm still surprised on how popular this story is. It's my second AikkaxEva fic but the only one that is not a one-shot.

I really wanted to have a chapter that focused on Canaan since nobody really gives that any love. I just love to bring out his sweet side and make him funny. He might be old looking but he can still party.0 Also I wanted Aikka's parents involved since parents in the real world usually interfere with young love...no I don't know from expeirence. I decided to make Nori clueless though for some reason or another. She's too cute to pass up.

So here is chapter 5 of Living with Hate. R&R dudes!

Living with Hate

By: Jordan’s Gal

Canaan slowly walked up the steel steps deep in thought. The night was young but sleep was still an upcoming event that he prayed for. His normal routine of things was screwed up due to Prince Aikka’s absence. His schedule was based all on Aikka but with his young pupil gone, he lost track of what he was supposed to do normally so clean up the whole module just to do something. But before he got to rest he had to do report…

Canaan entered a dark room lavished with silk hung on the wall as satin pillows were laid upon the floor. Against the back wall was a gigantic mirror. Its framework was decorated with hand carved ivory and native Nurasion relics that seemed to be painted in gold paint. Canaan kneeled down on his knees and started to recite his call.

“Ashi cali mastie tu.”

As if on cue, the giant mirror glowed a bright blue that lightened up the room with a wonderful blue radiance. Canaan waited patiently as an image made its way on the mirror.

“Canaan, is that you? We haven’t heard from you in a long time.”

“My queen, I clearly remember reporting to King Lao two days ago. You must not be keeping track clearly as you recall.”

Nori chuckled a feminine giggled. “I suppose you did dear Canaan, handling both a husband and a palace sure does wonders to my head.”

“I must see the King your majesty. We have an urgent matter to discuss.” Canaan mentally groaned. Conversations with the queen were never ending unless she was to stop it herself and that was rare occasion.

“Really? So exciting, I never get to participate in ordeals like that. I must fetch him immediately.” Nori rushed off scene while calling the kings name quite loudly. Canaan rubbed his head. Even when she was gone, she was annoying.

Just minutes later Nori returned with Lao in hand. “I’m here Canaan, what is this urgent matter? Nori and I are very eager to hear.”

Canaan adjusted his pose to comfort him for the length of time he would have to talk to the royal family. “It’s about Aikka, he seems to-“

“What Aikka, where is my little warrior?!” Interrupted a very over excited Nori. “A mother can’t stay far from her son for long unless she sees him!”

“Contain yourself my near, please continue on Canaan. What trouble is our noble prince in?” Lao said as he set his hand aside Nori.

Canaan cleared his throat. “Well it seems the prince has taken up the attitude of that as a juvenile Crog.”

Lao’s eyes narrowed. “Oh really, how so? There must be a reason for him to act so monstrous.” Lao’s fist clenched in fury, crog was never a good adjective, especially for his son whom would one day rule Nurasia.

“Well it’s a long story your majesty but to sum it all up, he wants to take revenge upon a young earth girl that he once loved.”

“An earth girl?! So interesting, is she pretty, single, in love as well? Oh tell me please dear Canaan.” Nori burst out.

“Please settle down Nori, I’m sure Aikka knows not to favor those below are status for less a human. Please inform me on this human female Canaan.”

“At your wish my king, she is what you say free-spirited as if you would call it. She is stubborn in many ways but is sweeter than the nectar from the Roxas Lily that grows in spring. The young prince discovered her in crowd before his first race and developed feelings for her.”

Lao rested on his throne behind him. “So to simply put it you think she is a suitable bride for the dear prince? I am not sure about this Canaan. What is though about our son seeking revenge upon? If he does not love her then would he not cause any harm to her or has she harmed him in some sort of way?”

Canaan sighed. This is the part of the story he hoped he could leave out. “It all depends on how you view the situation my king. His last race was against the Earth team and the young girl is the pilot. To what he told me, they’re race was to be clean and free from violence for fear of hurting each other. But apparently she-“

Nori pushed her way to the front of the screen. “SHE HURT HIM DIDN’T SHE?! Does she not know of his importance to me and this kingdom of ours?!”

“Nori…darling…” Lao sighed. “Doesn’t the east garden need tending to? I am very aware of your fear of the royal gardener to ruin your precious roses.” Nori stood silent for a few seconds till she quietly rushed off leaving King Lao and Canaan to themselves.

Lao sighed with relief. “So…as you were saying? Did this girl go back on her word and cause harm?”

Canaan poked his fingers together. “Well she did but didn’t. It’s a very confusing matter.”

“As of how, did she or did she not attack? The only thing I find confusing is how you have to explain this predicament.” Lao said with nerve.

“Well she did attack but it was not her intention but her partner that controlled the offensive side of their craft. He took a risky shot at the prince and G’dar without her approval. He steered away though and took their craft down.”

Lao rubbed his forehead. “I think I get where you are going at Canaan. It’s obvious that Aikka clearly loved her for him to feel such anger and hatred for her now.” Lao sat up and crossed her arms. “How is he now?”

Canaan gulped. He nearly forgot that Aikka was still at the Earth Module. “Umm well he is away at the moment, can you leave a message?”

“Canaan…this is not the time for joking around. Where is Aikka and what is his condition as of right now?” Lao argued. “Joking is not acceptable.”

Canaan bowed. “I’m sorry your majesty for my rude behavior but your son is not here right as I said.”

Lao sighed. “Then from what I’m guessing, he is out to train himself or late night meditation. I do remember the sages suggest mediating under the full moon and the stars.” Canaan grew uneasy. Should he tell his majesty of where his son was? He was sure that if he learned he would truly think the worst. He knew how protective the king was over his only son.

“Yes your majesty. He wanted to take the girl off his mind so he out enjoying the night air.” Canaan quickly lied. There was no way he could tell him. The whole plan would fail immediately and Aikka would never find his old love for Molly. He felt horrible to lie to his majesty. Either that or he felt the fear of his punishment when the king found out.

“Very good then, I don’t want to hear another word of this girl though. Even though you describe her as a flower, I’ve learned from our time together that you like to make everybody that you find as a suitable fiancée so wonderful.”

With the last word said, King Lao’s image faded away from the mirror leaving Canaan to himself in the dark room.

“I’m doomed now…”
