Chapter 1

-

“ Cloud , Cloud ! get up honey ! ” ooow why , why did she have to wake me up ,
”ok I’m up , I’m up ! ” with a lot of struggling with my own body I finally got out of my bed , when I was dressed I walked down stairs.

“ geezus , and he wants to go to the SOLDIER’s , if he stay’s in his bed till noon .” I rolled my eyes , I knew my mom was against the fact that I wanted to go to the SOLDIER’s , but why does she always need to say things like that , “ I heard that ma ” I walked in the kitchen “ owh , hai Cloud ” my mom said just so she wouldn’t need to talk with me about SOLDIER .

“ hey buddy , finally awake I see ” I smiled , my dad was the one who could stop any discussion I wanted to start , I sat myself at the table next to my sister( O.C ) “ goooood morning ! sleepyhead !, or should I say good afternoon ? ” I chuckled “ hey Prue ” .

“ here you go honey ” mom placed a plate with food right in front of me , I was about to start my ‘ breakfast ’ …

“ PRUEDENCE ! get your feet of the table , young lady ! ” I looked at my sister who immediately reacted by swinging her feet of the table and giving our mother a sheeples grin y .

“ you know , I don’t … ” my mom started but Prue didn’t even bother to listen “ yea,yea mom I know ” she stood up “ I’m going to get the mail ” with that she walked away , I finally started eating “ you need to admit , she pretty smart for her age ” my dad started again about Prue’ s smartness , he was right thought “ smart she is , and she also act’s to much like an adult , especially for her age ” and again my mom was right , for the love of god Prue was only 12 years old almost 13 … “ Cloud , eat up it’s starting to get cold ! ” I looked up my mom was looking at me with that kind of look that made me feel like I should hurry .

“ Cloud ! ” my sister stormed the room in

“ what is it ? ” I asked curiosly

“ there’s mail for you-“ I turned around to look at her “ – from ShinRa SOLDIER “ she added , my eyes grew wide , I jumped out of my seat

“ what ?! ” I heard my mom yell , I looked back at my dad , and he smiled and nodded at me , I turned back to the envelop , grabbed it and walked to the kitchen table , I bit on my lower lip , what if they rejected me ?

“ come on , Cloud… open it . ” I heard my dad say , but I didn’t look at him “ what if … -“ I looked up “ what if I didn’t get in ?

” you’re not going to find out if you’re going to stand there and don’t open the envelop ” I know that Prue was standing right behind me , I knew she would always stand beside me in things like this , but that didn’t give me the courage to open the damn envelop .

“ do I have to do it ? ” I looked back at my father , and gave him the envelop , I saw him open it and grabbed the paper in it .

“ Dear Mr. Strife , -“ Prue placed her hands on my shoulders , while I bit my finger , man was I nerves “- sorry for letting you wait this long for a respond , we have concluded to…… WELCOME YOU AT SOLDIERS ! “ I looked up , I made it ,

“ WHOOOHOO ! “ Prue jumped around my neck “ you made it , you made it ! ” I hugged her back , and at a moment I felt two strong arms grabbed me from behind I looked behind me and saw my dad “ congratulations my boy ! ” I was … so happy to see everybody being …… happy for me , although not everybody was happy , I looked at my mom , she … she just stood there at the table , looking at the paper I signed “ mom , can’t you … can’t you at least pretend you’re happy for me ? ” she looked at me

“ no , I can’t even pretend being happy , when I know my only son is going to waist his life in the army ” I felt my blood boil the part when she said I was going to waist my life was enough to break me , I turned around , and walked upstairs when I was in my room I slammed the door shut , “ aaaaaaaarg ! “ I screamed while I kicked me desk , I let myself fall on my bed , down-stairs I heard my parents argue , I pulled myself up and I walked to my stereo …” why , why did you have to say that ” I heard my dad scream “ he’s only 15 years old for Christ sake , I’m not letting my son in the army ! ” she didn’t get it ! being a SOLDIER was everything for me … I pushed my stereo on and turned the volume almost to maximum , I only do this when I’m mad, then the whole street can enjoy my style of music .

lucky for them , my music style is : Heavy Metal, Rock ,Punk and stuff like that , and at times like this one I prefer Rock and Heavy Metal .

and now just wait for someone to complain of the noise , I grabbed a Manga book at settled myself on the bed , not long after that I heard the bell , it’s a wonder I can hear the bell even trough my music , and … not long after I heard the bell my dad stepped in my room I looked at him he said that someone complained about my music , but I pointed my index finger to my ear and then pointed to him , to let him know I didn’t hear him … although it was a lie .

he walked to my stereo and turned it off “ I said someone complained about your music ” I nodded , but actually I thought ‘ tell me something I don’t know ’ he took a seat beside me , and then looked at me “ your mother decided to let you go to the SOLDIER ” I smiled “ you … you will leave tomorrow ” I hugged him “ thank you ” I felt that he hugged me back , he let go of me

“ come , go make your bag’s “ I stood up and started

that night I had trouble sleeping I think it was because I was nerves , after a few hours of thinking I felt asleep .

I was waiting on the train with my parents and sister , when the train was there , Prue hugged me I returned her the favor and I heard her say that I have to promis to come back , I nodded en mouthed her a ‘ promis ’ . my mom hugged me tightly and started crying

“ mom calm down … I’m going to be ok ” I was as big as her so she just looked at me and nodded , my dad came and gave me a hand

“ I hope they’re going to get you taller out there ” yea ok , I was small for someone of my age so what , I will grow “ DAD ! ” I turned away and then he pulled me back and hugged me , “ I know you’re going to make me proud ” I smiled , I know he also didn’t like it that I was going into SOLDIER , in some way he didn’t like it and in an other way he thought it would be good for me , I didn’t understand really , and now I still don’t , but I was happy that he appreciated my choice .

I grabbed my bag , and said goodbye before entering the train , when the train started my family waived , well what could I do , I waived back .

“ hey ” I looked up a guy with blue hair and gray-green eyes stood before me

“ hey ” I said back , he smiled warmly “ this seat taken ? ” I shook my head

I sat himself in front of me and he stick out his hand “ I’m Diän ” I took his hand and said my name ( C.O )

“ you’re going to SOLDIER ? “

“ yea , you ? ” he nodded

we talked about a lot of things and hey , I liked him already , for some odd reason I felt like I could trusted him .

“ what are you for ? “ I didn’t get him and I raised one eyebrow , he started laughing “ what are you ? Straight , Bi , Gay ”

my mouth formed an o “ ummm… ” I cleared my thought “ … ummm… “ I saw him laugh “ you don’t know ? ” he asked

“ I know , but it’s hard to tell someone , not even my parents know ... I’m – “

“ gay ” how did he know ? I looked at him in shock

“ don’t be afraid I’m not going to hate you , because you’re like me ” he’s Gay ? you couldn’t tell if you saw him

“ you’re gay ? “

“ hmm hm … Jip ! ” I smiled , when he started about something else I was kind of relieved , that he didn’t ask me stuff about my relations , because , they suck !

but man the guy can talk , when he told me something he always acted so childish , it was kind’ of funny .

later we heard the door open , and we both looked at who that could be, a long guy with very long white hair stepped in , Diän looked at me and mouthed an “ ieuw ” I couldn’t help but to grin , at least I knew what Diän was not going to fall for

“ you really are a boy’s nut ” I said leaning closer to him so only he could hear me

“ heeeeeeeeey … ass “ he said with a grin , a few seconds later his eyes grew bigger .

“ what is it ? “ I asked he opened his mouth and smiled a little

“ ola ” what , I didn’t get him so I looked behind me , and know I knew what Diän’s problem was , behind the guy with the white hair stood somebody else , but I couldn’t see him .

I looked back at Diän when the two guy’s walked to us , the white haired guy stopped at our table

“ gentleman ” we both looked at him , the guy I couldn’t see back there , stood beside the big guy … and I fucking knew what Diän’s problem was that guy is hot ,semi-long black hair , bright blue eyes , his skin was nicely tanned , muscular , … .

“ ummm , can we do something for you ? “ Diän asked polite

“ yea go get shagged “ he ordered

“ excuse me ? ” I asked , who the fuck does he think he is ?

“ you heard me , Blondie ” BLONDIE ! I swear I’m going to kill this asshole .

“ fuck-off man , go somewhere they really need you … ya know , of this train maybe “

“ yea , poppie , I think they can use a knew whore on the corner “ Diän could be quite harsh , but I was glad he was being defensive for me .

“ you son of a bi- “ he was mad and stepped right to us , the hot guy jumped of his seat and grabbed the other ones shoulder

“com’on Seph , … stop it ! there just recruits they don’t know better , how do ya think the boss will act if we told him ya killed 2 new recruits ? “ wow , even his voice was perfect .

“ yea you’re rite ” he turned back to us , “ you two better stay out of my way ” then he walked away

“ geezus , who does he think he is ? “ Diän asked the friendly guy

“ ya guy’s better stay out of his way for a while ” Diän smirked

“ what is he , the General ? “ he said with a smile

the guy looked at us and smiled , I swear to god if he’s going to stay any longer…

“ yea ”

“ What ? ” Diän asked again , come on man you heard him he said ‘ yea ’ don’t let him stand there an- … wait he said ‘ yea ’ don’t tell me …

“ I think ya friend over here gets me ” I heard him laugh , shit that was … oh god no , I putted my head in my hands .

“ what , what’s going on ? “ I tilted my head up

“ don’t you get it Diän ? … that was the General ” I saw the panic written on my friends face

“ no ” he said and shook his head

I nodded my head and me and the other guy said ‘ yes ‘ the same time .

“ I think I’m going to the bathroom “ Diän stood up and walked away , I putted my head in my hands ones again , I felt a foot hit my leg and I looked up , to se the guy sitting in front of me , he smiled at me

“ ya , ok ? ” I nodded still looking at him and still with my hands in my hair

“ I’m so fucked up ” I saw him look at me , I know he felt bad for me

“ no you’re not , I acted the same way , when I first met him , and now I’m his best friend … , ok he wasn’t a general back then but …”

“ ooooooooooowh ” I led my head fall on the table

“ I’m Zack ” I looked up, he told me his name , I smiled

“ Cloud ” I took his hand just then the train stopped , I looked around , and Zack stood up

“ com’on Spike ” he said winking

“ Spike ? ” but I didn’t really cared , if he wanted to cal me that … then it’s ok with me .

I stood up and I saw Diän out side already , I walked up to him “ you really didn’t have to wait for me “ I said to him

“ then what’s your problem , I didn’t wait did I ” I narrowed my eyes at him “ just kidding , no I saw you with that hot guy and I didn’t wanted to break the moment ” I hit him on the arm ,

“ soooooo “ he started “ what’s his name ? ”

“ you like to know that isn’t it ? “

“ aaawh , come oooon “

“ Zack “ I don’t know why but I smiled by saying his name

and just then we saw that white haired guy again “ ZACK ! “ he jelled “ get the recruits together , will ya ! “

“ yes , Sir ! “ he whistled on his fingers to get our attention “ will al recruits get there ass over here ! “ he jelled .

when we got there he jelled at two other SOLDIERs “ Mark , Jet bring these kids to the base ! ” strange why does he order around ?

we looked at that ‘ Mark and Jet ‘ persons , they both saluted for Zack “ Yes , SIR ! ” I looked at Diän , and he looked also quite shocked .

“ and while you at it , make an appointment with ShinRa for me en the general ! “

“ yes , Sir ! “

the two SOLDIERs gathered the recruits together and I looked after Zack , was he really that high , that he could order everyone around ?

“ oh , forget it Cloud “ I looked at Diän “ if that Zack is really so high of rank , you can forget him ” and then he petted me on my shoulder .

“ who said I wanted him in the first place ? ” Diän turned around

“ the way you look at him , the way you acted when he was standing with us , that my dear friend was enough for me to see that you like the guy ” he walked up to the group and ,… and I decided it was best to do also .

“ ok Strife that’s enough , detention ! ” I looked up , why that stupid ass !

“ but… ”

“ no but’s , mister Strife , if you can’t focus on the lesson now then you have to do it in private ” arggg , geez I feel like I’m in high school , oh wait , I’m in high school , if I knew that I have to go to school in SOLDIER , I’d never joined in , the teachers here are much sterner .

I was relieved when I heard the bell , I stood up from my seat and grabbed my bag , a strong hand grabbed my shoulder

“ and were do you think you’re going ? ” oh fuck detention right , I smiled at the teacher

“ detention ” was al I said when I left . Diän , Jared and Ray where already waiting for me .

“ smooth move , smarty . ” I looked at Jared , he was 17 and already was here a year , but he failed on the examinations so he decided to do this over . Jared had white medium long hair that always was gelled back in spikes , he had deep green eyes and was muscular , at the arms thought .

“ yea Cloud ! nice work ” and there we go again , everyone is against me , I looked back at Ray , he was as old as me (15 years) , and had short spiked up black-blue hair , hazel eyes and a brown tinted skin .

and well… Diän you knew him .

“ thanks for your sympathy guy’s “ I roared

“ hey , it’s not our fault you have to dream about your lover in class ” owh , I grabbed Diän with his collar

“ he’s not my lover ! ” Diän nodded at patted me on my hand . I released him and walked up to detention , I was here already for a month or two , so I knew my way here .

I opened the door and took myself a seat , I looked around , nobody was here not even a teacher .

“ well , well who do we have here ? ” I jumped , wait where do I know that voice from ? it wasn’t Mr. Gorga , this voice was younger .

but where did I knew it from ? and way the hell didn’t I look who it was ?

“ ya didn’t learn a thing in the train did ya ? ya really don’t know how to be friendly to a person ” hmm ? he knew about the train ? I dared to look at the person , when I turned around , my mouth opened to say something , but… nothing came out .

he laughed “ hai , there to ya to , Spike ” he walked past me

“ oh , … um hai Zack ” I said looking at him “ you have detention to ? ”

he smiled warmly , and god I loved it “ no , they can’t throw me in detention ” I looked confused

“ why not ? ” he walked closer to me , and stopped right in front of me

“ one , I’m not in school anymore ” and he putted one finger up , “ and two-“ another finger “- I’m higher of rank then al teachers here ”

“ umm how come you’re not in school anymore ” man I was getting nervous , why did he have to stand so close to me , and then he smiled again “ I’m 19 years old Cloud ” I let out a small ‘ oh ’and then he leaned VERY close to me , so close that his mouth was at my ear

“ I’m here to watch you ” he whispered , I felt my cheeks turn beet red so I looked at the ground to avoid his face .

I heard him walk away to the desk in the front , and I took my seat back , I looked up at Zack and I saw him swing his legs on the desk, I chuckled he looked at me and smiled “ why are ya here Spike ? ”

“ umm , I don’t know , Mr. Gorga said it was because I didn’t pay attention ” he nodded

“ ya got something to do right ? ” he asked while leaning his head in his fist , I nodded “ good ” he simply said

I’ve been here for 30 minutes already working on my ‘ homework ’, but this I don’t understand , math has never been my best point.

But maybe , I looked at Zack , maybe Zack knew it , I mean he’s done with school .

“ umm -” he didn’t respond “ Zack ? ” he didn’t look up from his book or whatever he was looking in , but I heard a small ‘ hmm ’

“ I , uh … I don’t really get this Zack ” he stood up walked to my desk

“ what ? ” he said putting his hands on each side of me on my desk , leaning over me . I felt my heart going faster , almost exploding .

“ umm - ” I cleared my throat “ this ” and I pointed at the exercise .

I think my heart really burst out when Zack grabbed my hand and moved my hand with the pen to the paper , and stared explaining .

“ got it ? ” he asked , standing straight again , I just nodded my head .

I felt two fingers poke into both sides of my ribs , I jumped a little “ com’on Spike , we’re going ”

I grabbed my books and dumped them in my bag , and followed Zack , who waited for me at the door .

He opened it and let me out first “ ya know your way ? ” I looked up to him

“ yea ” what was it about him that made me feel so great ?

“ do ya have a problem if I go with you ? ”

“ no ” I smiled when he walked with me to mine , Jared’s , Diän’s and Ray’s room , we talked a little and laughed .

when we got to my room , I opened the door , but there was nobody

“ something wrong ? ”

“ Jared , Diän and Ray are not here ” I looked at Zack

“ maybe they’re out ” , yea , yea Jared told me something about a party tonight , Zack was right , they’re just to that party , to let Zack now it was ok I gave him a nod , he smiled back “ see ” he just said .

while I walked inside I heard Zack following me , I let myself fall on the couch , I heard Zack laugh , I smiled “ you laugh a lot thought ”

he seated himself beside me “ why shouldn’t I ? ” I shrugged to let him know I didn’t know “ why ?… why don’t you laugh more often ? ” he asked still smiling , my smile faded and I signed .

“ because I don’t have anything to smile or laugh about ” I told him , he lowered his eyelids and bit his lower lip , but not long after that he smiled again , I really didn’t understand the guy .

“ should I give a reason , for you to smile ? ” I let my head fall to the right , I really didn’t get him .

“ sure ” although I didn’t understand what he was saying , I wanted to know what he meant .

his smile grew bigger , and he leaned in to me , he used one of his hands to pull me closer to him by placing it in the back of my neck , he slowly putted his lips on mine , and I closed my eyes .

my lips formed a smile when he kissed me , and then he pulled back “ see … I told you I could get you to smile ” he whispered , and I knew I was blushing like hell , and he saw it , at a moment he placed his hand on my cheek and gently stroke it .

he removed his hand and kissed me on my cheek , I putted one hand on his back and slowly moved it up and down , he looked up from my shoulder and stroke his nose against mine and then kissed me on the lips again , only this time I wasn’t letting him stop that fast .

we only parted a few times for air , and I felt so great , with my friends saying I had no chance it felt great to know it wasn’t true .

“ Jared , I told ya man ! don’t drink that much ” WHAT ! they’re back , Zack also heard it and looked at the door .

I seated myself up and got away from under Zack , as he pulled his shirt back to normal .

The door opened and I leaned against the couch .

“ Jared you really need to be carefu- ” Ray started but stopped when he saw Zack in our room

“ Ray ? is there a probl- ” Diän also stopped when he saw Zack and Jared didn’t even bother to saying anything

I smiled warmly at them “ Hey guy’s ! did you have fun ? ”

“ ummm , in the beginning , but Jared drunk to much so… ” Diän said , I could see on him that he was shocked that Zack was here.

“ ‘kaaaaaaay , … I think I’m going ” I looked at Zack , already ?

“ ok , I’ll lead you out ” I said , my room-mates walked further in , t’ill they where in the kitchen .

Zack was outside already and I followed him out “ why are you leaving this early ? ” he grinned at me

“ you’re friends where quite shocked when they saw me ” I looked back to the door , when I turned back to Zack he crushed his lips on mine , when we parted he said a friendly ‘ goodnight ’ and ‘ see ya tomorrow ’ .

I walked back inside and “ what was he doing here ?! “ Diän practically yelled

“ he was here to talk with me ”

“ and you did that without raping him ? “

“ oh hahaha , funny Diän très funny ! ” I walked to my room , I really didn’t need to hear this
