Wow. I'm sorry, It's been so fricking long, hasn't it? Ack. I'm back now, and I'm in 8th grade. It's amazing. Nobody probably noticed I was even gone, but still. I haven't been on fanfiction in SO long. I'll try and update something other than short stories soon. I'm sorry I've been away so long! Hahah, but now ..Innocence. is back, and here to stay.

Ah- right. If you don't know me, but read some of my old crap-tastic work, then my old name was robinlover2004. Please... don't ask. sweatdrop

Anyway, I'm not quite sure what this is going to turn out to be. Obviously, I'll know at the end. Hopefully, what ever decides to spring forwards from my finger tips will be something worth reading. xD

Hmmm... so let's see. Oh! I've got something. Okay...

Disclaimer: I do not own the anime series Bleach or the song D-Technolife. They belong respectively to Tite Kubo and UVERworld.

Enjoy!

Rewrite

Ienai itami kanashimi de kizu tsuita kimi yo

Kesenai kako mo seoi atte ikou

Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed

Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased;

Standing there, trembling, she couldn't understand what had happened. Blips and flashes of memories that made no sense scattered across her mind like a cyclone, leaving her dizzy and confused. Why was there so much blood? Where was it coming from? Who did this? She fell to her knees. A nameless person in a nameless world. The girl fell into her side, lying on the bloodstained floor, dark blue hair falling into one of the pools of blood, stained; turning her long, beautiful saphire hair into a dull brown. Water was also mixed in with the blood. But it wasn't natural. What...?

She wanted to rewrite this. Blankly, she though fleetingly, that somehow this wasn't right, and it should have been different.

Yes. Rewrite this whole thing...

But what exactly was she rewriting? The fact that she was filled with spiritual power? That couldn't be changed. Rewrite that her father had left? She didn't actually care about that. She didn't remember him anyway. There was so much, but she wasn't exactly sure what it was she was rewriting in her mind. Could she even do that? Make her memories so that they suited her?

Ikiru koto nage dasanai de!

Don't throw away your will to live!

Slowly, painstakingly, she tried to push herself off the ground to no avail. Her body didn't work; wouldn't listen to her commands. Why? Why was this happening? And what was that creature? It had come in here with no warning. Had it been looking for her? She stiffened. It had been looking for her. That means... it meant that all this was her fault. No solace. She couldn't be comforted. Where could she go now? Would Tatsuki take her in? Her old friend... her cousin.

No. She felt dead. If she wasn't dead now, she would be soon. There wasn't any point to keep going.

Tip. Tip. Tip tip tip, STOMP.

"Damn it." A voice cursed. It was a male's voice, coarse and rough.

"We're too late." A girl's voice hissed, frustrated. "How? The warning came on time."

"I don't know. All I know is that this is one time that we shouldn't have been late." The male said quietly. He seemed angry.

"There's nothing we can do here." The girl said quietly. A sound, like someone turning on her heel. "I'll send someone to get the girl."

"What? She'll bleed to death!" His voice was strained. "Rukia, we can't just leave her here! She'll die!"

"No she won't. Because I know you won't obey me and bring her with us anyway." The girl- Rukia?- said flatly, but she seemed to be hiding a smile.

"You're damn right about that!" He said heatedly, stomping over to her.

She struggled to move. Finally, some sort of energy flowed into her. Was it him? "Stop... stop. I... I'm fine..."

The boy stopped, and stared at her blankly. "What?"

"I'm fine..." The girl lifted her head and smiled widely, getting up shakily, holding her side. "I just need some bandages. I'll be good to go..."

The girl turned her bright blue eyes over to her and she could feel herself freeze up. Why was she so scared? "I... I'm fine, really. Just a bit tired. There's no blood... from me, I mean..." She hung her head, falling to her knees. "If I'm a burden... I don't want to bother you... I have a relative... her name's Tatsuki. I could... you could just drop me at her house. If it's easier."

And hand appeared in front of her face. The boy with the bright orange hair was holding it out to her, a scowl on his face that seemed permantly etched into his features. She blinked slowly, and looked up at him, confused.

"It's no trouble." He grumbled. "Just stand up."

She looked back down and mumbled a "Thank you..." before accepting his hand.

Tsunaida kimi no te wo

Itsuka ushinatte shimau no kana

Your hand that I held...

Will we lose it someday?

He didn't say anything, just pulled her up a bit roughly, and then put one of her arms around his shoulders and began to walk. Her eyelids were drooping, and she was exhausted. Rukia, although she seemed tiny, could easily keep up with Ichigo's long strides, while she herself, not much shorter than Ichigo, was having so much trouble he was almost dragging her along before he let out an exhasperated sound and let go of her and bent over.

She blinked, not understanding.

"Get on, stupid." He sighed. "I don't want to have to drag you the whole way to our house."

"Your house?" She said, climbing onto his back shyly.

"My family runs a clinic." He said, as though that explained everything.

"Oh."

Rukia seemed a bit amused by something. "Are you not used to people?"

Blushing, the girl responded, "No. I've been homeschooled my entire life."

"Isn't that hard?" Ichigo said is disbelief, looking back at her with wide eyes.

She smiled gently, responding, "Not if don't know anything else. And I've always gotten along well with the other children in my neighborhood."

Ichigo and Rukia blinked, seeming surprised by her sudden display of emotion.

She looks so lonely, even when she smiles... Rukia thought, eyes narrowing with some amount of sympathy.

Usurete iku egao to kimi wo mamoritai kara

I want to protect you and that disappearing smile

Ichigo said nothing, and turned back to watch where he was going. Walking in silence, she looked around in wonder at her surroundings. How could her parents not have ever wanted her to go outside? Although they allowed her to, she was never allowed outside of a certain area. It was like a prison, but she'd never known anything else, so she had to suppose she hadn't minded. But seeing the freedom of all the other children on her street, who got to walk around and run over the their friend's houses whenever they wanted... she longed to be able to do that.

"Hey." Ichigo's voice rang out.

She blinked, looking at him uncertainly.

"We're here." Rukia said with a smile.

"Oh. Thank you."

"Before we go in, I need to know your name." Ichigo said, looking back at her again.

She blinked, blue eyes swimming with brief confusion. "Ah. Of course, I apologize." She said, sounding tired. "My name is Katsumi. It's nice to meet you."

Hibiku boku wo yobu koe sae kare

The ringing voice that calls me dries out.

---------

Wow. It seems kinda short to me. Oh well. I've been meaning to finish this. Took alot longer than I thought it would, since it's so short. Reviews would be appreciated, although there's no need. Do whatever you want

I'm going to continue using "D-Technolife" for the next couple chapters. It really seems to fit the story.

And NO, this is NOT an Ichigo romance. I'm just saying. I'm going to keep it a secret for now who she winds up with, if anyone. xD;; I'm not even that sure.

Anyway

Until next chapter!
