In the end, it was Jaden who finally sought Jesse out. He found his boyfriend laying on the roof, staring at the clouds, and quietly made his way to his side.

"Y'know," the brunette stated casually, "I once kissed Alexis."

Jesse jerked up to give him a surprised look. "Wha-?"

"Anya told me."

"Figures," the blue-haired duelist muttered. "Girl can't keep a secret to save her life."

"I don't know," Jaden replied. "She's gone the better part of two years without telling Hassleberry that she likes him..." He grinned at Jesse. "So, when were you planning to tell ME about it?"

Jesse groaned and turned away. "Honestly? Never."

He gave a start when he felt Jaden touch the side of his face, drawing it back towards him. "But," the brunette admonished, "I can't forgive you if you never tell me."

Jesse's eyes widened and he leaned forward to hug Jaden fiercly. "I'm so sorry, Jay. I didn't mean to-"

"It's cool," Jaden accepted. "Like I said, I once kissed Alexis. It happens."

"I love you, Jay."

"Aw...I love you too, Jess!"

And then Jaden kissed him, and this time it felt right.
