On with the story!

James Sirius Potter stood by the front door to his house, fidgetting with his dress robes. His mother walked past him and shook her head.

"James, stop messing with your robes! You're going to ruin them," she scolded, pushing his hand away from his sleeve. James gave her an exasperated sigh.

"Mum, I hate dress robes. They don't fit me right." Ginny smiled and straightened the front of his robes.

"You're too much like Ron, you know that?" They heard a crack from outside, and they both looked out of the window to see some of the Weasley's arriving. Ginny turned back to James. "Now be polite, James, you only have to greet people the first half hour."

James rolled his eyes. "Why can't Albus do it?"

"James, stop whining, you're seventeen, not seven."

"Can't I stop just a bit earlier?"

Ginny eyed him carefully, then leaned in and whispered, "Maybe, if you don't play any tricks on your Uncle Percy. But don't tell your father," she added quickly.

James grinned. "Thanks, Mum."

Ginny shook her head and stood on tip-toes to ruffle his dark hair. "You're as tall as Harry now," she muttered vaguely, then started to walk away, calling over her shoulder, "If you see Lily, tell her to help me set the table!"

James turned around and opened the door to see his Uncle Ron, Aunt Hermione, and his cousins Rose and Hugo.

"Hello, James," Hermione said brightly. "You look nice."

James rolled his eyes again. "Thanks, but don't get used to it."

"James, is the food ready yet?" Hugo asked with excitement. James laughed.

"Is that all you think about?" He pointed them toward the dining room.

Fifteen minutes later, more and more guests started to arrive, including the rest of the Weasleys, the Thomas', the Finnigans, the Malfoys, Teddy Lupin and Andromeda, the Scamanders, and many other surviving families of the war. They had this party every year to celebrate, and this year it was the Potter's turn to host.

James had started scratching at his sleeve again, desperate to go hang out with his best friend, Mickey Finnigan. Finally, James heard a loud crack, and the Longbottoms arrived. Neville stepped in first, looking slightly flusttered. "Hullo, James," he huffed, clasping his hand. "Sorry we're late, there was a bit of trouble down at the bar. How are you?"

James smiled at him. Neville was his favorite teacher, as well as one of his favorite survivors of the war. "I'm fine, thanks." Hannah came up and and gave him a one armed hug, looking just as flusterred as her husband.

"Nice to see you, James." She turned and ushered their daughter, Abbey, forward. "Come in, Abbey, we're already late as it is. James, where's your parents, we must see them." James pointed them toward the dining room, then turned back to Abbey. He felt his mouth drop when he saw her completely.

She was dressed in robes of pale gold. Freckles danced on her nose, and her light, sandy brown hair was flowing past her shoulders, with her side bangs pulled backin a barrett. She grinned at him. "Well. I never thought I would see the day- James Sirius Potter in dress robes, serving me."

James flashed the famous Weasley Twin trademark grin, which he had graciously inherited from his Uncle George. "Nice to see you too, Abbey. And I'm not serving you, I'm directing people to the dining room," he added in a voice Percy would be proud of. Abbey laughed.

"And when do you get to relax and enjoy the party?"

James checked his watch. "In about fifteen minutes. But...," he looked around himself, then leaned down to her. "You're the last family to arrive, so I guess I can go early. Let's go find Mickey and Daisy."

They walked over to the dining room, carefully avoiding Harry, then went to the sitting room, where most of the kids were. They found Mickey Finnigan and Daisy Thomas with their head bent close together, whispering and giggleing. They were leaning closer and closer together, until James went over and pulled them apart with a grin on his face.

"Let's keep it rated G, alright?"

"Oi!" Mickey said in his think Irish accent. "We were a bit busy!"

"Yeah, we could tell," Abbey laughed. Daisy realized she was there and squealed, giving her a hug.

"Abbey, those robes are gorgeous!" Daisy gushed.

"So are yours!" Abbey replied, pulling away from her.

"Yeah, give us a full view there, Thomas!" Mickey grinned. Daisy turned in a circle, showing her champaigne colored robes that contrasted wonderfully with her dark skin. Mickey gave her a rogue wink, and she flushed, turning to Abbey to catch up with her. Mickey turned to James and shook his head. "Ya couldn't let me have five minutes with her, could ya?"

"Of course not, Mickey, I'm James Potter! I have to screw things up." Mickey grinned and looked back at the two girls.

"I think I'm gonna ask her out. I'm finally back on her dad's good side." James laughed, remembering when Dean Thomas found out that Seamus's son liked his daughter and nearly had a heart attack, declaring that Daisy was too young to be dating anyone. Of course, he has no control over what she's done at Hogwarts... "Look at Abbey though, eh? She filled out nicely this summer," Mickey added, cutting through his thoughts. James looked back at her.

"I know, she looks great." The girls both laughed, and Abbey's hunter green eyes twinkled. James shook his head and turned back to Mickey, whose eyes were feasting on Daisy. "So how was Ireland?" Mickey didn't seem to hear him. James snapped in front of his face. "MICKEY!"

"What? Oh, Ireland was fine. Ladies were all over me," he added with a grin, then replaced it with a scowl, "but Dad stuck by me the whole time. Except for this one night..." He trailed off, getting a dreamy look on his face. He snapped back and eyed James. "Okay James, I'm only gonna tell ya this cause your me best mate, and ya have to promise not to tell anyone. Especially me folks, or Daisy."

James quickly nodded at his friend's serious tone. Mickey glanced around, then beckoned James to come closer. They both bent forward, and Mickey whispered, "There was this one dame, Lila. She was being friendly, a bit too friendly, if ya know what I mean, and we..."

James raised a brow. "What?"

Mickey bit his lip. "You know..."

James's hazel eyes widened as he understood. "No."

"Yes."

"No!"

"Yes!"

James grinned. "I told you it'd be stupid to wait 'til marriage! Was I right?"

Mickey gave a reluctant grin. "Yeah. But that's not all," he added quickly.

James quirked a brow. "What?"

"I...kinda called her 'Daisy' in the middle of it."

James stared at him for a long moment. All of a sudden he broke into histerics. Mickey scrunched his eyebrows together.

"It's not funny!" he said, punching his shoulder.

James clutched a stitch in his side, wiping a tear from his eye. "Mickey...you got it bad, mate," he said with a grin.

"I know."

"Well, at least you got some, you old wanker," said James, still grinning at him. Mickey shrugged, shaking his head and looking at Daisy.

"I don't think it was worth it all that much, to be honest." He shook his head again. "I don't get how you do it, James."

"Do what?"

"You're such a ladies man! Isn't there someone you just...I dunno, want? Just one person that you really, really like?"

James looked up at the ceiling, thinking, then shook his head. "No," he said simply. "Everyone I've wanted, I've gotten." He patted Mickey's back. "Don't worry, Mick, you'll get her."

The girls came back up to them at that moment, and Abbey blinked flirtatiously at James. "James?" she asked in a soft voice.

James raised a brow. "Yes?"

Abbey grabbed the front of his robes and gave him a puppy dog look. "You look good tonight."

James smirked and placed his hand on the small of her back, deciding to play along. "Why, thank you. You look pretty good yourself."

Abbey put her arms around his neck and stared at him. James leaned down and looked like he was about to kiss her, then whispered in her ear, "What do you want, Abbey?"

Abbey sighed and pulled away from him, and Daisy laughed. "We want to go to the lake."

James laughed. "The lake? You came on to me just to go to the lake? Abbey, you are such a tease." They all laughed.

Just then, Harry stuck his head through the doorway to the sitting room. "Dinner's ready, everyone!" he called out. All of the kids in the room charged toward the door, Hugo in the lead. James turned to his three friends with a mischevious look in his eye.

"Spend the night. We'll go in the morning."

Mickey said okay immediately, but Daisy and Abbey raised their brows. "James, why would we have to spend the night? We can just come back tomorrow," said Daisy.

James looked at her incredulously. "Where's the fun in that?" The girls laughed. "Come on, please? You can say it's for Lily."

"Say what's for me?" Lily Potter stopped in front of them. She was in white dress robes and her hair was curled. She absentmindedly brushed it out of her face.

"My, my, looking good, Lily!" Scorpius Malfoy called to her as he walked by. Lily blushed and James glared at him.

"Keep walkin' Malfoy! Lily," he added, turning back to her, "Could you have Abbey and Daisy over tonight? We want to go up to the lake tomorrow."

Lily shrugged. "Sure, why not. You guys might want to hurry though, Hugo's probably going to shove all the food down his throat." As Lily walked away with Abbey and Daisy, Mickey grinned at James, bouncing on his heels.

"I get to see Daisy in a swim suit!" he said with excitement. James shook his head and chuckled, patting his back.

"Let's go, Mickey."

Hours and hours later, after dinner and dancing, all of the guests had left other than Mickey, Daisy, Abbey, Rose, Hugo, and Scorpius. They all had changed into their night clothes and went out to the garden. James came out after everyone else, him being the only other one there who could legally do magic to help clean up. He looked out on the warm summer night. Albus, Scorpius, Lily, Hugo, and Rose were all running around and laughing. Mickey and Daisy were laying on the grass, looking up at the stars. Abbey sat by herself on the patio steps, laughing as Lily tripped Scorpius, making him fall flat on his face. James sat down on the steps with her. She turned to him and smiled. "Hey, James."

"Hey." They both turned when they heard the squeal coming from the ground. Mickey was tickling Daisy with a grin.

"Take it back!" he was demanding, grabbing her foot and tickling it. Daisy squealed again.

"Okay, okay, I take it back!"

"Say it!"

"Irishmen are the funniest!"

"And the most good-looking," Mickey added, rolling back over.

"Yeah, sure." And he was tickling her again. Abbey laughed and James shook his head.

"Those two. I swear, they're gonna get married. I'm calling it right now." Abbey giggled. James turned to her and smiled. "How's your summer been, Abbey?"

Abbey shrugged. "Pretty good. I worked down at the bar a lot. Now I know how to make every single drink there," she said with a smile. James grinned.

"Well that'll come in handy."

Abbey laughed. "What about you, James? Meet any lucky women?"

James shrugged and shook his head. "Nah. Keeping my options open for Hogwarts. Besides, let's be honest, I've never kept a girl for more than a month. And that's when I can make the excuses of studying and Quidditch."

Abbey rolled her eyes and nudged him. "James, you're such a player."

"Coming from the girl who barely goes a week without a boyfriend."

Abbey scoffed. "Okay, so last year I was a bit of a whore, so what? Like you're not?"

James nodded reluctantly. "True, true. So who are you after now?"

"Well...Albus is looking pretty good this year...," she said in a playfull tone. James arched his brows.

"My brother?" Abbey gave a nod.

"Oh yeah, his green eyes are just so...amazing," she said, breaking into a fit of laughter at James's expression. "James, I'm kidding!"

"Never. Again," he said dangerously. Abbey laughed even harder.

"James, come on," she said after recovering, "you know the only Potter I would go for is you."

James gave her a smug grin. "I know."

Abbey laughed. "Way to be cocky." James just shrugged. They both looked over to see Daisy pointing up at the sky, then Mickey taking her hand down and lacing it in his own. Abbey smiled at them.

"They're so cute."

"Yeah," said James, "but they're frusterating to watch."

Abbey nodded. "I know what you mean." There was a pause, and they heard Mickey mutter something with a grin, then Daisy laugh about it. "Do you ever wish there was someone you could do that with?"

"Do what?"

"What they're doing. Just to sit there and look at the stars, holding hands and talking about nothing."

James slowly shook his head. "Never really thought about it like that."

"Same here. For all my relationships, they've definately been more...physical. And don't laugh, 'cause I know your's have been the same."

"I'm not laughing. I think you're right." Abbey turned to him in surprise.

"Really?"

"Yeah. I usually go out with someone for their looks, no their personality."

Abbey nodded. "Me too. We need to settle down, James. We're one year away from being on our own."

James shuddered. "Ugh, don't say that. It makes it sound real."

Abbey laughed and looked back at him with a smile. "You're a good kid, James."

James smiled. "Right back at you, Abbey."

There was a loud thump and a yell, and they both looked over to see that Hugo had tripped and fallen on top of Mickey and Daisy. Rose and Albus fell over with laughter as Mickey shouted, "What's with everyone ruining the moment today?!" Abbey and James laughed at them.

"Yeah, I think we should go inside before anyone else gets hurt tonight," James chuckled, standing up and offering his hand to Abbey. She took it and stood just as Ginny came in through the back door, seeing Hugo on top of Daisy and Mickey.

"Alright, everyone inside!" she called out, looking over the garden. "And where's Lily and Scorpius?"

All of the children looked around, and suddenly Lily and Scorpius toppled out of a bush together, looking very flusttered. "We're right here, Mum," Lily called out sheepishly. Everyone laughed and made cat calls, and they blushed. Ginny crossed her arms and shook her head.

"I don't even want to know, just don't tell Harry," she said, then turned and went inside.

In case anyone couldn't tell, Mickey and Lila had sex.

So, what do you think?
This kinda just popped into my head one day.
Next chapter will be the lake and pretty much the rest of their summer.
Please tell me any mistakes or anything I can do to improve it!
