Burying a Killer part 1: Gregory Alan Olsen

Burying a Killer part 1: Gregory Alan Olsen

Richard and Alexis Olsen, as well as Donna and Randy Anderson, Jimmy and Carol Hopkins, and Earnest Jones sat at the edge of the pit, where sixteen year old Greg Olsen lie in a casket. The casket was right at the very edge of the pit, and it was closed and locked, to spare them all the trauma of seeing his body again. He was clad in a black tuxedo, and his left eye, the one that had been left, was closed.

The priest, who had been the pastor at Greg’s church back in Boise, (the one he’d attended until he became an atheist at age 12) spoke suddenly, with a genuine air of sorrow and regret.

“He brought laughter to those who knew him. A very intelligent, and for a time, very faithful boy. Gregory Alan Olsen, aged 16 years is no longer with us. That was his choice. A choice he made, out of hatred for the world, and the cruel people who inhabited it. We are reminded, that the choices we make, affect the lives of anyone and everyone around him. Many made the choice to ignore this very special young man, or even to hurt him. They paid a heavy toll. Not necessarily what they deserved in the eyes of Jesus Christ our lord, but the price they deserved to pay in the eyes of this spiteful, sorrowful young man. Let us now bow our heads, in prayer. Dear Jesus, we thank you for the 16 years we’ve had with Gregory. He is in your hands now. We pray, that you are forgiving lord, and that he be allowed forgiveness and heaven, rather than Damnation and Hell. We pray also, for Donald Anderson, Trent Northwick, Wade Martin, Damon West, Ethan Robison, Casey Harris, Bo Jackson, Beatrice Trudeau, Bucky Pasteur, Johnathon Vincent, Eunice Pound, Parker Ogilvie, Ricky Pucino, Dennis Luntz, Lionel Galloway, and Deirdre Galloway, as well as recovering victims, Troy Miller, Ted Sinclair, and Humphrey Crabblesnitch. Let this body now be committed to the ground.”

They lowered Greg’s body to into the hole, and he was buried.

Donald’s funeral, held the very next day, went very much the same, except a few nerds, the ones who weren’t still mourning Beatrice and Bucky.

Richard could do nothing but hold his anger in, as his life fell to shambles around him, and the world, followed suit.
