Ok, this story is not based on City of Heroes, it’s just a hero story, so don’t get upset if nothing sounds familiar.

I don’t own nor have ever played City of Heroes (though I really want too)

If you have a character and want to be in the story, just give me the following details.

Character name (real name), Hero name, character description (normal human outfit) , hero costume, powers, background (how he got his powers, etc.) arch nemesis, and which side you’re on.

R&R PLZ!

It was raining heavily in Metro City, clouds covered the large pale moon. A young black haired boy stood on the corner of the rooftop, he wore a black samurai-like mask, covering his lower face, the design looked like a wolfs mouth permanently set in a growl, his outfit was simple, a black Kevlar vest over a black muscle shirt, black camo pants were tucked into small strap-on combat boots. He watched as a bank across the street from him was set aflame.

The boy leaped off the building, it was at least ten stories up, but that didn’t matter. Because he grabbed the side of the building, his small sharp claws dug into the cement. He began to sprint like a dog down the side.

When he got to the bottom, he pushed his legs out and flipped back out onto his feet.

A group of men stepped out of the bank, wearing black tactical outfits, they held short, odd looking guns.

Leading the pack was a young man, his skin was bright yellow and covered in red stones, his head was in flames, making it look like a candle glowing in the moonlight and his eyes were bright white slits. The man didn’t wear anything tactical, just blue jeans and white shoes.

“Wildfire, drop the money!” The boy said.

“Wolfbane, what a surprise!” Wildfire said sarcastically.

Wolfbane looked over at the soldiers. “Who are they, your babysitters?”

Wildfire smiled, hiding the anger. “Actually, they’re personal bodyguards.”

Wolfbane cocked his head to the side. “Really, did you get a scum discount on the black market?”

Wildfire laughed. “Their from a friend of mine.” He glared at Wolfbane. “And they are under my control.” To prove his point, Wildfire pointed his finger at Wolfbane and ordered. “Get Him!”

The first soldier dropped his gun and swung for Wolfbane.

Wolfbane dodged the attack, he grabbed the mans arm and twisted it around.

The arm gave in easier than he expected, but instead of blood and tissue, there was only a metal rod and a series of wires and tubes.

“They’re machines?” Wolfbane swung at the robot with the arm, sending him flying.

Wildfire couldn’t help but laughed. “They’re called B.O.A’s, Battle Operative Android.”

Wolfbane smiled under the mask. “This is going to be fun!”

Two more dropped their guns and went straight for Wolfbane.

They were stopped by another person, the figure wore the same suit as Wolfbane, but he wore a black paintball looking mask.

“Who the hell are you?” Wildfire stated.

The figure spoke through what sounded like a speaker. “My name is Thirteen.”

More of the robots swung, but not for Wolfbane, but Thirteen.

Wolfbane stepped in the way of two of them, Thirteen stood behind him.

Thirteen whispered to him. “Matt, the best way to beat them is to take out the head, otherwise they’ll keep coming.”

Wolfbane looked back. “How do you know my name?”

“I know all about you, Matthew Smith.” Thirteen said. “I’ve been observing you.” He dodged an attack and sent the robot flying.

Matt grabbed ones leg as it tired to kick him and flung him into the others.

The others back away as Wildfire disappeared.

Matt looked over at the other man. “Who are you?”

“My real name is Mason Jones.” Thirteen stated. “I’ll see you around.” With that he left.

Matt stood there, contemplating what just happened, but soon shrugged it off and left the area.

The Next Day…

It was Friday, Matt was trying to keep from falling asleep in Biology. This was price he paid for gallivanting out all night. Thank god it was the weekend.

The biology teacher was explaining something about pedigrees and traits.

Matt yawned as he brushed his hand through his now dark brown hair and scanned the board with his deep blue eyes, he wore a black graffiti designed shirt over a long white long sleeved shirt and baggy loose dark blue jeans that covered his black skater shoes.

A boy stepped into the class, his brown hair came down just about his eyes, which were bright blue like Matt’s.

The teacher stopped and turned to the boy. “Ah yes, class, I’d like to introduce our newest student.” He paused as people began to murmur. “Why don’t you introduce yourself.”

The boy nodded. “My name is Mason Jones, I’m sixteen years old, I came from Nevada, a few miles out from Las Vegas, I was originally home schooled, I…”

Matt didn’t care about the rest of his made up story, he was now looking over the boy.

He wore a typical Metro City outfit, loose white shirt, baggy loose jeans, white skater shoes, and he even added a white flat-rimmed cap tilted to the side.

The teacher looked over his seating chart as he said. “Yes, why don’t you go sit down by Matthew Smith.”

Mason casually walked over and sat down in the seat next to his.

“Good to see you for who you really are.” Mason stated quietly.

Matt smiled. “The feeling’s mutual.”

The teacher continued his discussion.

Mason leaned over. “Meet me at this address, I want you to meet some people, and come dressed normally.” He handed Matt a slip of paper.

The class ended quickly, much to Matt’s delights. He quickly sprinted up over the bridge to his house, he lived in a foster home in a somewhat quiet place.

‘I hope they‘re all at the game.’ He thought to himself as he turned the knob.

It was locked.

‘Thank you.’ He took out his key, placed it in the little slot, and turned till he heard a click sound.

He rushed to his room on the second floor, grabbed his gear, and bolted downstairs.

He was interrupted by the front door opening. His older foster sister, Angela, walked into the living room.

She noticed Matt and grinned. “Going to go save the world?”

Matt smiled, his stomach turning. “Nope, going to a football meeting, just got the notice to, so I need to hurry.” He rushed towards the door.

She put her arm on the wall in his way. “Don’t give me that crap, I know who you are.” She leaned in closer, Matt could smell the alcohol in her breathe. “And when I get enough proof, I’m going to tell the world.”

Matt smiled. “You tell anybody, and I’ll tell mom what you were really doing last night.”

She glared at him. “Who‘s going to believe you, you ain‘t got no proof but that little ass sniffer you call a nose?”

Matt pulled a computer drive out of his pocket. “I’ve got friends in the photo department in school, and let’s just say they will do anything to get a good shot.”

Fear spread across her face. “You wouldn’t?”

Matt laughed. “Oh but I would, unless you decide to keep your mouth shut.”

She lowered her gaze and growled. “Alright, I promise.”

Matt left with a grin, he really did have friends in the photo department at school, but of them were at the party.

He made his way passed building after building until he found it.

It was a rather large mansion, twenty stories high and made of brick, vines already covered the exposed sides.

He walked up to the large gate blocking the drive way.

Please step into the retina scanner zone!” A voice said through the brick column beside him.

He pressed the little white button and said. “Excuse me?”

The voice replied angrily. “Step into the yellow box!”

Matt looked down, just inches away from him was a box drawn on the ground with what looked like yellow paint.

He stepped into the box and looked up. Out of the voice box came what looked like a sniper scope. It came inches away from his left eye.

He placed his left eye into the cupped piece, a green light flashed, nearly blinding him.

The gates opened as Matt rubbed his eye.

“Don’t do that, you’ll get an infection.” The voice stated.

Matt walked up the gravel road. The building loomed over him like a giant.

He found his way to the massive oak doors in the front, they opened before he could knock.

Inside was a small group of people. They all turned to face him.

One of them, a green haired boy wearing a black hoodie and baggy jeans, walked up to Matt.

“What’s your name?” The boy asked.

Matt looked him over. “Matthew.”

The boy shook his head. “What’s your other name?”

Matt smiled. “Wolfbane, you?”

The boy replied. “My name’s Eric, but you can call me Komodo.” He turned to the group. “That’s Jericho, a.k.a Brimstone.” He nodded to a brown haired boy wearing a white shirt and cargo shorts. “That’s Sarah, a.k.a Shadowfire.” A black-haired girl dressed in a gothic schoolgirl out fit looked up from her day dreaming. “That’s Bruce, a.k.a Firefox..” A young kid with orange highlighted hair wearing a white hoodie and cargo pants smiled.

Eric continued naming off people, most with odd names.

“I see you’re already the center of attention.” Mason walked down a set of stairs beside them. He didn’t change his outfit, but neither did Matt.

“Well, let’s just say I’m use to it.” Matt replied.

Mason shrugged. “Well, that’s you all have in common.”

“You all are use to the highlife.” An old man stepped down from the stairs opposite of Mason. “But you don’t do the things you do for the fame.” He looked over everyone. “You do it because you believe there is a part of the tortured world that’s worth saving.”

Every talked amongst themselves, nodding and shrugging.

Matt looked up. “Why are we here, do you have a plan to help us save that part of this tortured world?” He wasn’t being sarcastic, he was actually hoping this was what the man intended.

The man smiled. “Yes, and no.” He paused. “We have had multiple reports of mutant attacks.”

Matt laughed. “Like that hasn’t happened before.”

The group laughed.

The old man smiled. “True, but that’s not what interested me.” He stepped off the stairs and walked up to Matt. He was rather young looking, the only thing that gave away his age was the thick shadows under his eyes, like he hadn’t slept in years, and his thinning white hair. He walked with a limp. He wore a black suite without a tie.

He continued. “All these attacks were from a group of mutants who call themselves Dark Brothers.”

Matt wrinkled his brow. “They’ve started an organization?”

“Yes, and it’s a massive one, they’re all around the globe.” The man replied. “Which is why I called you all here, this organization is growing bigger and will not stop until they have control of everything.”

Mason pitched in this time. “They’ve already seized control of some military branches, including weapons and Nano technology.”

Matt nodded, he remembered the B.O.A.’s.

Mason continued. “We need you all to help us stop this Brotherhood.” He looked them over. “Are you in?”

They all began to speak amongst themselves.

Matt stepped forward. “Hell, I’m in.”

Soon everyone else began to nod and shout.

Mason smiled and thought to himself ‘He’s perfect, unique powers, and people follow him because of his courage.’

The old man smiled. “Great, my name is Dr. Gero.”

Mason nodded. “I’m Mason, otherwise known as Thirteen.” He walked up to Matt. “We hope your rooms are to your liking.”

Matt was about to say something when Dr. Gero stopped him.

“We’ve already made arrangements with your foster homes.” He stated. “Sleep tight and eat a good breakfast, we begin at noon.”

Eric looked over. “Begin what?”

“Your training.” Mason said.
