I do not own Naruto, not the story and not any of the characters. The three kids at the end are my idea.
Why did it have to be like this? Why couldn’t anything turn out good for once? Why was there always a price to be paid in the end? She didn’t know.
She tried to scream, but there was no sound left to leave her mouth. She tried to cry, but she had already cried all the tears she had. Her eyes were dry.
The only thing she could do was watching her friends. Her dead friends. Why? Why was there always a price?
Do I want this? she thought. Do I want to stay behind? Do I want to go on, alone? Do I have the power to go on? Do I have the wish?
Why would I go on, if those who made my life worth living are gone? Why didn’t they let me follow them into the dark, silent depths of death, to be with them forever? Why did they have to die, why didn’t I have to? Why?
What is worth living for now? Who’s left I care about, truly?
She watched them, the one with blond hair, the one with black hair, the one she loved as a friend, maybe even as she would love a brother, the other as she loved as a lover, the one she had been in love with for so long.
“WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE! WHY! WHY COULDN’T I GO WITH YOU, WHY DID YOU LEAVE MY, BOTH OF YOU! WHY! WHY! WHY!”
Finally she could scream again, and from the moment she did, her eyes released her tears, and she cried, she cried like she never had cried before. She grabbed their hands, the hands of those she loved, the hands that had already become cold as the eternal snow of the mountains. She grabbed those hands, and she cried even harder, desperate, almost insane. She lied down between them.
“Why did I have to stay?” she whispered. “Why couldn’t I go with you?”
Many hours had past when the three young ninja were found. All three of them were dead. There were two boys, one with blond hair, one with black hair, and one girl, with pink hair. They were covered in blood. The girl hold the hands of the boys in her own hands, and whatever their finders tried, she just didn’t let them go.
Many years later, three children were playing in the forest. Two boys and one girl. One of the boys discovered a stone among the many trees.
“Atsumi, Kansuke, look!”
“What is it, Yuko?” the girl called Atsumi asked.
“What’s that?”
The kids walked closer to the stone.
“It’s a gravestone.” Kansuke said.
And the stone told them:
This is the place where we buried the bodies of
Haruno Sakura
Uzumaki Naruto
Uchiha Sasuke
They were three of the greatest ninjas the village will ever know.
They gave their lives to protect the village.
And we believe they gave their lives
for each other.
Whatever happens
We will never forget you
You won’t be forgotten
Even if a thousand years pass
We will remember you
You won’t be forgotten
We will remember you
Always
A/N I hope everyone liked it. If anyone would like to leave a review, that would be wonderful.
I'd like to dedicate this story to my friend Marieke. It's her birthday next Friday, so this is something like a suprise present.
Marieke, I'd like to tell you you're one of the best friends I have ever had! I really enjoy your company. You are a great friend and I hope our friendship will go on for many many years from now. I really do.
Happy Birthday!
