Author’s Note: Hello! I started this story and I just had to post it on my birthday (and no I am not Irish)! For those who do not like Peter/OC stories, I am sorry that I am delving into that area, but for those who do like those stories, I hope enjoy this one. I feel that it’s very unique from the others.

First, a few points of interest…

the rating is for later chapters

the introduction is my attempt at Barrie’s style. The rest will be written normally with chapters alternating between Peter’s POV and Iris’s POV

I think that’s it. Enjoy!

Of Pan and Iris

Prologue:

Curious Observations

When we returned from our first flight to Neverland, Wendy Darling had decided to stay in London to grow up. Peter Pan returned only to take Wendy’s daughter Jane to the island of adventure and then when Jane was old, he would come for Margaret. And so we were content to think that Peter Pan would always return to whisk the Darling girls away to the isle in the stars.

My, how ignorant we have all been.

For when we spy upon the cocky boy on his island, we find him sitting in a tree. How appropriate this is for a little white bird to sit in a tree and observe the goings on below him!

For what goes on below is rather startling to us onlookers. A girl is kneeling near a stream, but alas her hair hides her face from our view. She is washing clothes, is she Margaret perhaps? Nay, Margaret is dead and buried. She died young, poor girl. This girl must certainly be a new mother for Pan.

But look, another girl has appeared! She is much smaller than the first. How curious that the older girl does not look up at her laughter. But, see Pan in the tree? He has heard the girl’s giggles and smiles down at her.

Ah, he has left his perch to land between the two! He taps the older girl and when she looks up, she smiles in surprise at seeing him. He then moves his hands in a curious pattern and does not speak to the girl. Yet, she must understand his movements as she begins to laugh. The smaller girl moves between the two and Peter lifts her into his arms. Then, he helps the other girl to her feet. Is that the sparkle of love in his eye? Ah, what has become of Peter Pan these many years since the fair Wendy left? Who are these strange girls? Are there no more Lost Boys?

For those answers, dear reader, you need only to begin the story…

Author’s Note: Sorry about the cliffhanger! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
