Author Note: If you read the Prologue before, that one didn’t go with this story. Sorry for the inconvenience. I don’t own Batman, DC Comics does.
Prologue
If I told you what happened to me, you’d probably think I was crazy. Funny thing is, all I wanted was a quiet morning watching the first Batman movie. Here’s something else
kind of funny, I fell asleep, when I woke up, Alfred was nursing me back to health, apparently I had hurt my wrist. “What happened?” I asked. “You sprained your wrist”,
Alfred replied. I then remembered something hitting something hard, I thought it was my head. I was laying on a couch. "Alfred, how is she?". I looked up to see Bruce Wayne
walking into the room, "Her wrist will heal in a matter of hours", Alfred replied smiling. "I have no idea what's going on", I replied. "It's a good thing I found you before the
Joker did", Bruce replied. That flew right over my head. "I'm sorry Mr.Wayne but I was looking for the Joker", I replied, the words sounded so stupid. "Are you sure that's
such a good idea?", he asked. "You don't understand. It's very important", I said, I was sitting up now. "Look um..what did you say your name was?", Bruce asked. "My name
is Erin James", I said. Bruce looked at me. "I really should be going", I said getting off the couch. "I don't believe that's such a good idea, it's raining", Alfred said. "Why are
you looking for the Joker anyway?", Bruce asked. "I'd rather not say", I replied blushing. "Why don't you wait until tomorrow", Bruce replied. I frowned and sat back down on
the couch. I folded my arms. I then flinched, I forgot my wrist hurt. "She can't go out with her wrist like that", Alfred muttered to Bruce. "I don't think it's safe
for her to be in Gotham by herself either", Bruce said.
The next day, Bruce drove me into Gotham, it was like a guided tour. I couldn't help but remember what he had said the night before, that he was lucky that he found me
before Joker had. I had asked to sit in the back seat. I was looking out the window now, my right wrist was wrapped in a bandage. I quickly got an idea. When the car
stopped at a red light. I had undid my seat belt a moment ago. I opened the car door, "What are you doing?", Bruce said turning around at the last minute. But too late, I had
shut the door and was running down the street. "Damn", Bruce said hitting the steering wheel but he had to go because now the light was green. I had gone to the next block
and was coming around onto the next street. I didn't know what part of the movie I was in but then it dawned on me, I had some how messed up the movie.
I stopped just in front of a news paper stand. I stuck out like a sore thumb. I had red hair, a black jumper with red buttons on the pockets, a dark pink long sleeved shirt,
and black boots. "Now what?", I asked myself.
I decided to start looking for Joker before Batman caught up with me. Gotham was huge, how was I supposed to find him? Nobody seemed to care that I was there. I didn't
mind being ignored, it might come in handy. The side walk suddenly became very busy that I was pushed into the street, I fell backwards and landed on my wrist, the pain shot
through my arm. I looked up to see a car coming at me but I was pulled up onto the side walk seconds later. I looked to see who had helped me from being run over, when I
saw who it was, I forgot the pain in my wrist. Joker's dark brown eyes looked back at me. I lost control of my thoughts and fainted in his arms.
