Toes

My boots are too smal. My left one any way. That’s the great thing about automail. My right foot doesn’t grow, so only five of my toes hurt.

Doorknob

Everyone looks to the door. The knob turns, and in walks our leader. He is come to announce that war is upon us.

Muffins

His eyes, or eye, rather, is wild with excitement, his cheeks puff out like muffins when he smiles. Why does he smile at a time like this?

Technical Drawing

He sets up a board, showing us some kind of technical drawing. No, a battle plan. Yet still he laughs.

Theft

First, he plans to take the remains of nobility out of us, making us thieves and spies before we attack. It’s amazing what I’m willing to do to get my body back.

Bloodbath

Everything after that will be a bloodbath. Countless soldiers, used as pawns, bait, will clear our way. The others nod slowly. They have seen, done this before. It disgusts me.

Rain

Rain hammers on the roof and windows, the wind opening a few. The lecture is stopped while everyone scrambles about, locking the shutters.
