the(A/N: Yay sequel time!! Okay so this chapter just picks up where the first story left off!)
Emmett held Elle in his arms as he tried to fall asleep but he couldn’t, he was just too excited. He couldn’t believe he was going to marry her, Elle was such an incredible woman and he couldn’t believe how lucky he was. In the first year he knew her, she had grown more than anyone he had ever met and in three years she had managed to win a big murder trial, stay on top of everything and graduate as the Valedictorian in her class. He had never been more amazed by anyone and what amazed him the most was that she loved him, not some Warner clone but him.
“Emmett.” She whispered softly. “Go to sleep.” Her eyes fluttered opened and she looked up at him.
“Okay, you’re eyes were closed, how did you know I was awake?” She repositioned herself so that they were now face to face.
“Emmett Forrest, I know you better than anybody else, do you think my eyes being closed can stop me from knowing what you’re thinking?” She asked.
“I guess not.” He shrugged. She giggled a bit and kissed him softly.
“Say it again.” She commanded pulling away and Emmett stared at her, not really understanding. “Say yes again.”
“Oh.” He chuckled. “Yes, I will marry you.” She squealed and kissed him again. “Elle, did you really think I’d say no? I can’t even say no to you about going shopping so did you really think I’d say no to a marriage proposal?”
“I don’t know, I was nervous.” He wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer to him. “Emmett, do you believe in fate?”
“I don’t know…I’ve never really-“
“I do.” She stated as if she hadn’t even heard him. “I believe that certain things are meant to happen.”
“I suppose so.” He knew where she was going with this. Elle was as romantic as she was smart.
“I mean if Warner had gone to another law school I never would have met you, fate.”
“Hmm, remind me to thank Warner sometime.” Emmett had never really thought about it that way but if it wasn’t for his loss he never would have met and fallen in love with Elle.
“Nah, I kinda did once.” She shook her head as if to veto the idea. “Besides, he doesn’t need more fuel to his ego.”
“Very true.” He kissed her again. “I love you Elle Woods.”
“I love you too Emmett Forrest.” They kissed again, more passionately this time. It was as if they were literally made for each other, how perfectly their lips fit when they kissed.
Oh, and it’s Forrest…Elle Forrest.”
“So you’re taking my name huh?” He raised his eyebrows.
“Maybe, I haven’t decided.” She shrugged. She snuggled against his chest feeling so perfectly safe and at peace as he held her. There was a comfortable silence when Elle suddenly sprang up.
“What’s wrong?” Emmett asked.
“We’re getting married.” She looked him in the eye with a determination he had seen before, usually it was the look she got when she was studying hard for an exam.
“Yes I know.” He chuckled.
“There is so much to do, we need to plan everything!” She exclaimed going into full blown Elle Woods rant mode. “We need a location, flowers, catering, dresses, tuxes, and all that jazz Emmett!”
“I know that too Elle, but you don’t have to start planning now.” He said trying to calm her down.
“Yeah I guess but…wow it really just hit me.” She smiled getting very sentimental all of a sudden. She began to think about everything she had been through with Emmett and felt a rush of joy that she had him in her life. “I can’t wait!” She exclaimed.
“Me neither.” They shared a smile, another kiss and then fell into a blissful sleep, both of them dreaming about their future together.
