Buffy stared across the applauding audience. “I came to Fort Wayne for this?”

“It’s nice,” Willow said defensively. “There’s no Hellmouth.”

Nearby, a man dressed conspicuously in a black suit ignored two young women watching the speech. They couldn’t see much except waving signs.

“You’re sure she’s a demon?”

Willow nodded. “But I don’t know if she’s a good demon or a bad demon.”

“Maybe we’ll find out in November. But what about Chelsea?”

“Spock’s parents had a baby, and one parent wasn’t human.” When she caught Buffy’s expression, Willow blushed. “Guess I’ve been spending too much time around Xander.”
