A/N: Random little fic I started writing this morning while doing calculus work. Please leave comments.
"First you have to take a handful of snow. Then you press it into a ball just li-INUYASHA!"
Winter for Kagome meant a lot of things. Firstly it meant being together with family during the holidays. Second taking breaks from traveling through the feudal era more often and this year it meant spending extra time with Inuyasha. How had this come about you may ask. Well just think about this. Kagome explaining snow. What hanyou couldn't resist?
"What in the name of snow bunnies are you doing?"
"It's cold! It bites my ears! I was trying to attack it back."
The brown eyed girl could hardly hold in her laughter. Inuyasha stood shivering covered from head to toe in patches of snow. Obviously he had been pouncing around at the mounds of snow for the past hour or so and now he was trying to "kill the damn stuff."
"Why don't you just stick to helping me? I'll be done soon then we can go inside and I'll fix you something warm to eat. Okay?"
"Really?! Even that noodle stuff I like so much and some of those crunchy cakes and some..."
"Yes really. Now hurry up and get over here. Snow bunnies can't build themselves!"
The hanyou almost cheerfully helped with rolling up the ball of snow Kagome labored over. And before long two lumpy snow figures stood tall and proud. Kagome finished the works of art by adding carrot noses, twigs for ears, and yarn for a cute mouth.
"Bunnies have pointy jabby things on their face Kagome. You forgot that!"
"Yeah well I don't know if I have anything else to use to make whiskers for them."
Inuyasha grinned and opened his hands to show some icicles he had found near the roof of her home. He actually enjoyed searching for something to add to this project and he felt quite proud of himself at the moment.
The two stood back for a second and observed their master piece. Both seemed ignorant to the fact that their cloths were soaked with snow and that their bodies ached and complained from the bitter coldness of nature.
"Heh. This was actually fun making them snow buns with you."
"Snow bunnies you mean. Yeah I can't believe you actually wanted to help."
Inuyasha grinned sheepishly and rest his chin upon her shoulder. The two gave the art work one last smile of approval before Kagome thumped the dog demon playfully on the nose.
"Hey! What was that for?" The hanyou whimpered a bit and rubbed his nose.
"Aww poor puppy! Come on now let's go get some of that ramen you were wanting!"
He pouted slightly at the name puppy but shrugged when the girl grabbed his hand and tugged them both back towards the warm comforts of her house. What did he have to complain about? He had just spent valued time with one of his best friends and now! Well now he was going to have a delicious meal.
"Hope she doesn't make it too spicy..."
"What was that?!"
The sound of shouting, joking, thuds, and screeches follow soon there after. But two adorable snow men (erm women) sit patiently in the front yard overhearing it all. Witnesses to all the love and care both Kagome and Inuyasha share. Proof that making memories with friends, and snow bunnies, are all people really need.
