Kendra stood at the gates of Ga-Wahi, looking up at the Ga-Matoran balanced on top. “Sure you don’t want some help?” She called up. Hali shook her head.

“Thank you, Paladin, but you’ve done more than your fair share. With all your help, it will look like the storm never came.” Kendra smiled and brushed a little dried seaweed from her shoulder.

“Alright……but I’m going to hang around Ga-Wahi anyway - just in case you change your mind.”

“Suite yourself, ma’am.” Hali waved as Kendra turned and walked down the beach. Ankle deep in the cool surf, the Paladin of Water looked pensively towards the ocean’s horizon line.

“Kendra?” The human jumped a little, then relaxed and smiled.

“Gali, don’t do that!”

“You were thinking about him, weren’t you?” Kendra tried to put on an innocent face.

“Him? I….don’t know what you’re talking about.” Gali gave her Paladin a look. Kendra sighed. “………..okay, so I was thinking about Leonidas. Big deal.”

“You looked worried…”

“I am.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Well…..” Kendra hesitated, biting her lip and looking back out across the water. “It’s…….it’s not really something I’m at liberty to say….” She sighed. “I can tell you that it’s something from Leo’s past……if you want to know more, you’ll have to ask him.” Kendra stopped, letting the waves wash against her legs. “…….he had a hard childhood…..when we were kids, my parents told me to stay away from him – or, to be more specific, to stay away from his father….” She trailed off and shook her head.

“He might have told Tahu something…” Kendra looked back at Gali. “Maybe you should ask him?” Gali nodded.

“I think I will…thank you, Kendra.” The human smiled.

“I hope it helps…..God knows, Leo needs it…..”
