There was a biting pain as Ruby moon the third opened her eyes everything from the party seemed to be flooding back to her, the entire room seemed out of focus as she blinked everything began to clear up and saw she was staring up at a concrete ceiling, Ruby sat up she was still wearing the dress from the party but her hair went from elegant and edgy to fucked up and looking like she just rolled out of bed

As Ruby rubbed the sleep from her eyes, Zenigata through the bars his feet propped up on a desk reading a news paper “wait bars, concrete ceiling, and crappy floors” thought Ruby everything suddenly clicked, somehow ‘Pops’ had found her on the Yamaguchi property and thrown her in jail, Zenigata finished reading the news paper and looked over at Ruby who was awake “Oh good you’re awake” said Zenigata sounding relieved “Pops what am I doing in here?” asked Ruby, “ Well I found you on the grounds of the Yamaguchi estate, Yamaguchi said you were the one trying to steal the kimono and he handed you me over to meyou” summarized Zenigata, Ruby stood silent for a moment stunned by Zenigata’s stupidity “Pops why am I in here?” asked Ruby standing up only to realize she had been handcuffed to the bed post “ you’re charged with 1 count of conspiracy to commit robbery ,1 count aiding and abetting a criminal, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest” Zenigata informed her “ I also need to question you on the whereabouts of Lupin the third” he said self-righteously getting back to his newspaper “Pops you don’t understand Lupin is in trouble” Ruby said “Yamaguchi isn’t who he says he is, he’s a Yakuza!”

Inspector Zenigata burst out laughing “Nice try sweetheart” said Zenigata tipping his hat “But the Yamaguchi family is a very respectable family even in America” informed Zenigata walking out of the room “HEY! DON’T I GET A PHONE CALL?” Ruby shouted throughshouted through the bars as his back was turned “Already did that for you sweet cheeks, I called your mother” replied Zenigata as he shut the door, Ruby swore loudly as soon as he was out of sight Ruby began to struggle against the handcuffs.

The holding cell she was in was tiny , three concrete walls, iron bars facing the precinct, a concrete slab with a worn out mattress, and bars that faced the alley. “C’mon, c’mon I know I can get out of these” Ruby thought frantically wriggling her wrist; she took a deep breath and slowly slid her thumb out from underneath the cuffs, then the rest of her hand (an old trick she had learned when removing stubborn bracelets). She paced around the cell thinking of a way out but none came who knew how long before Zenigata came back, she still had the gun hidden in her thigh, somehow Zenigata must have missed it, but it was no use to her now that she was in her just as she was thinking Ruby’s mother burst in accompanied by inspector Zenigata “I can’t believe you!” she hissed, “Robbery, fighting, congregating with thieves!” Ruby’s mother continued “You probably got this from your father’s side of the family!”

Ruby had justhad just about enough of her mother badmouthing her father “At least I know now who my father isYou mean Arsène Lupin the third !” snapped Ruby “ Does the name mean tears streaming down her cheeks mother went white as a sheet at the mentioning of Lupin’s name “All these years you lied to me and told me he was dead and to top it off when he tried to call you hung up on him!” snarled Ruby shaking the bars “He’s a thief, a criminal I couldn’t have you mixing up with HIS sort of people” argued Ruby’s mother, Zenigata stood dumbstruck as he listened to Ruby and her mother argue back and forth “… I COULD BE PREGNANT!” bellowed Ruby abruptly ending the argument “Who’s the father?” asked Ruby’s mother frantically “it’s a toss up between Jigen and Goemon”sighed Ruby clutching the bars and looking away “you think those two idiots will take responsibility?” jeered Ruby’s mother. Zenigata managed to snap out of his trance “I’m sorry ma’am but have t visiting hours are over you’ll have to visit tomorrow when we transfer her to the state prison” Said Zenigata sorrowfully, Ruby’s mother was escorted out by inspector Zenigata once again Ruby was left alone in the cell, she sat on the “bed” and began to think suddenly something flew in through the window it was a small paper airplane Ruby unfolded it scrawled on it was a message that read

“Look out the window you stupid whore!”

Ruby complied with the message out side the bars she could see four familiar faces waving at her one was Ruby’s Ho Yuffie leaning against a yellow mini cooper, next was Panda standing next to Goemon and Jigen. Ruby had never been gladder to see her friends “Are you getting me out or not?” hissed Ruby at her friends “Maybe” said Jigen scathingly calmly blowing out a puff of smoke, Ruby flipped off Jigen “ What’s a girl gotta do to bust out of here get in bed with you two again?” Retorted Ruby “Hurry up Pops could be back any second”, Goemon nodded and with a flick of his sword he sliced the iron bars on the window, Ruby climbed through but her dress got stuck on a piece of the bar sticking up, she panicked when she heard footsteps approaching “Shit pops!” she whispered, as she frantically tried to get free, as Zenigata opened the door, Ruby finally wrenched her self free and fell on to the street below “Its ok the concrete broke my fall” said Ruby sarcastically, Zenigata screamed from inside the precinct causing everyone to scramble inside the mini cooper.

Much later when they were on the road Goemon explained that Jigen had swiped Ruby’s phone and called a bunch of the numbers in there to see WHO would actually help bust her out of jail Yuffie and Panda were the only two that showed up. “So what’s the plan now?”AskedYuffie sitting in the front seat next to Jigen “Now we go get her father” replied Goemon emerging from his meditation in the back seat, sitting in between Ruby and Panda “Lupin the third!”Yuffie and Panda said in unison exchanging shocked looks on their faces.

Meanwhile Lupin was naked (except for his boxers) in a small room shackled to some sort of a wall, a tall mean looking man wearing an expensive looking suit and dark shades his hair slicked back giving his appearance a meaner look, he was carrying a bucket of ice water as soon as he got close enough he dumped the contents on the unconscious thief, jerking him awake “you know my daughter is on her way and that girl has a mean, mean temper”Lupin said barely audible and he went limp again, the man lifted up Lupin by the chin so he could hear what he has to say “You’re daughter is in jail as of this moment didn’t think she was worth the effort of killing” said the crony who had thrown the ice water on Lupin, the man laughed and exited the room .As Lupin hung shackled and naked and a sly smile spread across his lips“ That’s what you think” whispered Lupin.

“Hey what’s this?” asked Ruby pulling out a parcel form under the seat, “No don’t…. but before Jigen could stop her Ruby opened the package inside was an exquisite folded kimono embroidered with cranes and clouds, it finally dawned on Ruby “You and my dad used me” Ruby said quietly her expression becoming bitter “I ought to let him rot there… before Ruby could say anymore Jigen brought the car to a screeching halt, Jigen reached in the backseat, dragged Ruby out of the car and swiftly slapped Ruby, she was stunned by his reaction “Listen up and you listen good because I’m only going to say this once” snarled Jigen, shaking Ruby violently,Goemon stopped Panda and Yuffie from interfering with a simple negating stare “She’ll be fine” he assured them.

“What was supposed to happen was you were supposed to go in trip the alarms while Lupin stole the kimono and replaced it with a fake one” roared Jigen “But we didn’t plan on that cheap whore Fujiko to warn Yamaguchi about you!” Jigen shook her fiercely with each word gripping her arm tightly so much she felt it bruising “Lupin cares about you, otherwise he wouldn’t of done what he did” assured Jigen he looked down at her and saw that she had tears running down her cheeks, Jigen’s hard expression softened he was about to say something but Fujiko was coming up the road on a black roadster with two white racing stripes on the front she her self was in a leather motor cycle suit she stopped in front of Jigen and Ruby , removed her helmet before speaking “They’ve taken Lupin to a cathedral not far from here they know you have the kimono” said Fujiko “ they told me to tell you to meet them there in an hour or they’ll kill Lupin”

Jigen and Ruby scrambled back to the car, Fujiko led the way on her motorcycle Yuffie and Panda got off at a street near the cathedral leaving Jigen, Goemon and Ruby alone in the car. The whole way neither of them spoke, they stopped in front of a towering old cathedral that seemed to be abandoned and crumbling the high tower seemed to give the area a menacing aurora. Jigen, Goemon and Ruby stood in front of a large rotting wooden doorway Ruby sighed, Jigen loaded his gun, Goemon said a prayer in Japanese “This is it” said Jigen, leaning against the side of the door gun ready, Suddenly Ruby seized Goemon by the shoulder and planted a kiss on Goemon’s pale cheek, and did the same to Jigen, Both exchanged embarrassed glances. Ruby whipped out her fathers gun from her thigh and waited for Jigen to give the ok, Jigen gave a small nod all three charged in guns blazing only to find the cathedral was dark and not a soul was present in the cathedral.

Everything was eerily quiet, only the wind could be heard outside and the sky was becoming a frightening shade of grey. Goemon’s ears suddenly perked up “GET DOWN!” he roared, Ruby and Jigen dropped to the ground between the isles of the benches, as they were surprised by a sudden wave of gunfire coming from the dark second floor of the cathedral. Goemon had amazing skill deflecting the bullets with his sword, when the gun fire ceased Goemon quickly turned to Jigen and Ruby “GO!” he shouted, Ruby and Jigen obliged running down the isle dodging rapid gunfire Jigen held

Ruby’s hand as they ran, Jigen stopped in front of the stairs leading up to the tip top of the tower with the grand stain glass window. He fired off two shots; two men tumbled down the stairs a single mortal wound on their heads, Jigen and Ruby quickly stepped over their bodies and continued up the stairs, Ruby panted as she ran up the long flight of steps, Jigen let go of Ruby’s hand at the top of the steps Boss Yamaguchi stood smiling “Go! Now” Jigen bellowed pointing his gun at the nearby balcony letting off a couple shots he threw the package containing the Yamaguchi’s kimono “Jiji I can’t- “I said go ya dumb broad!” barked Jigen smacking her in the ass to go, Ruby raced up the final flight of steps all the while she could hear the sounds of Goemon and Jigen’s fights the sound of gunshots filled the once still air.

Ruby arrived at the top of the stairs at a small loft area, the giant stain glass window in the front shone with its different hues, sitting in its light was Ruby’s father Lupin was tied (fully dressed), standing next to him was Yamaguchi and his son Hayato “Let him go Yamaguchi my father doesn’t have your precious kimono I do!” shouted Ruby holding up the parcel with one hand and the gun pointed at Boss Yamaguchi. The Yakuza laughed as if it were the most amusing thing he ever saw “You see this Lupin, your daughters got balls just like her old man” said Yamaguchi shaking Lupin vigorously “Now hand over the kimono” demanded Hayato adjusting his glasses, pointing a gun at Ruby “Your sons got a hella of a set of balls too,” Ruby said cynically still pointing the gun at Yamaguchi “Not much of a dick though”, Lupin snorted trying to hold back his laughter. Before either side could say another word , Zenigata burst up from the stairs “YOU’RE ALL UNDER ARREST!” he shouted panting , Boss Yamaguchi fired off a shot Lupin scrambled behind the first couple of steps for cover with him was Ruby and Zenigata “Now do you believe me” said Ruby in an I-told–you-so voice, she suddenly turned To her father and embraced him warmly “Daddy!” she said almost childlike, Lupin smiled and planted a kiss on Ruby’s cheek “We’ll do this later Ruby right now we have bigger problems” Said Lupin signaling for Ruby to return his Walther to him.

The young woman obliged Lupin rushed in firing off shots, Yamaguchi and Lupin seemed to be locked in a deadly dance bullets flying everywhere all Ruby could do was listen and hope to god her idiot father didn’t get shot. Soon Goemon and Jigen joined in the “safe spot”, Ruby made off with Zenigata’s gun before he could say anything and joined into the deadly dance as well leaving the kimono with Goemon “GET OUT OF HERE YOUNG LADY “Demanded Lupin dodging Hayato’s shot, “This is my fight too!” shouted Ruby narrowly missing Yamaguchi’s head by a few inches, after several hours darkness fell over the cathedral. Jigen, Goemon and Zenigata realized there was nothing more that they could do here and exited the Cathedral through the main exit.

The fight seemed to be in a stale mate Ruby’s gun aimed at Hayato’s head Lupin’s gun dead set on Yamaguchi’s heart and vice versa Ruby and Lupin were standing against the magnificent stained glass window “Looks like we’re stuck” said Hayato, suddenly a shot rang out Hayato slid to the ground a trickle of blood dribbled from the corner of his mouth.

Down below Jigen was pacing around nervously; he could hear the sounds of the struggle from the cathedral. Goemon sat and meditated while Zenigata called for back up on his radio. Meanwhile inside Yamaguchi wept over the body of his dead son. He laid his son down “Lupin I’ve lost my only son now you’ll feel the same pain when you watch that whore daughter die!” Shrieked boss Yamaguchi, he picked Ruby up over his head and flung her out the window.

As Ruby was falling, the glass shards cut into her face. Everything seemed to go in slow motion, Yamaguchi’s maniacally laughter followed her, suddenly time went back to normal as Jigen caught her the broken glass fell everywhere ,she couldn’t see anything, the entire scene seemed to go blurry but she could still hear everything everyone was saying as she was gasping for air, there was blood everywhere.

“CALL A FUCKEN AMBULANCE!!”

“THIS IS INSPECTOR KOICHI ZENIGATA REQUESTING BACK UP!”

“Ruby, Ruby IT IS NOT YOUR TIME TO GO WITH YOUR ANCESTORS YOUNG Ruby…. She couldn’t hear the rest of what Goemon was saying everything suddenly went black. She remembered a song from her childhood it played in her head…

Oh, oh what a pair, me and you

Ruby suddenly jerked awake, sitting by her bedside was Jigen reading a porn magazine, he looked up from reading his magazine “how’s it going kid?” he asked her as she awakened, she was wearing a hospital gown, and hooked up to Iv “I feel like I’ve been hit with a truck” replied Ruby sitting up in bed rubbing her bandaged head, “Where’s my dad?” Ruby’s suddenly asked “That I don’t know he disappeared after the church caught fire” replied Goemon emerging silently through the doorway, “What about boss Yamaguchi?” asked Ruby turning to Goemon who seemed to have all the answers “He was burned alive in the fire and so was the kimono” Said Goemon as he sat down in a small chair on the left side of the bed. “So Hayato’s dead too” asked Ruby with concern set in her eyes even though he had bashed her head in and nearly shot her and her father still she pitied him for what happened to him “Naw, he survived you didn’t shoot him any where important the bullet missed” replied Jigen keeping Ruby up to date, a nurse came into the room “Miss Moon the results of your pregnancy test are in” she said in a kind voice, “Pregnancy test I didn’t… Ruby glared at Goemon and Jigen realizing what they had done “The results were negative you are not pregnant after all” continued the nurse looking at her clipboard “HALLELUJAH!!” shouted Jigen happily, everyone in the hospital turned to give Jigen an awkward glance “Hrm.. that’s good” said Jigen settling down again, Goemon smiled as well but didn’t scream or shout “It seems fortune has smiled upon us” he said unable to hide his grin, “Oh and another thing some flowers came for you” said the nurse pointing at the delivery man behind her who’s face was obscured by a large vase of flowers he was holding, “Just set them down on the table over there” instructed Ruby peacefully, the delivery man placed the flowers on the table by Ruby’s bed, after he was done he winked playfully at Ruby and headed out he door, “ there’s a card “ said Goemon holding up a small lilac colored envelope he opened it and read it aloud:

My dearest Ruby,

Glad to see you’re ok, sorry I couldn’t stick around

But daddy’s got work to do princess …

I sent you these flowers to cheer you up and also there’s a debit card in your name

To an account with 60 million (don’t tell your mother!)

I’m glad I got to see you for the first time

Grandpa and great grandpa will be thrilled

Zenigata dropped the charges against you just so you know

All is well

Ruby smiled then it suddenly hit her, the delivery man had been Lupin in disguise Ruby lowered her head a wide grin spread across her lips, he

Tricked her once again, “he’s good” She though to herself “I’ll get him back some day” she laid back down and went back to sleep.

A few months had passed by since Ruby was released from the hospital; with the money her father gave her she decided to see the streets of Paris, France.

Ruby wore an expensive long coat, black pointed high heel boots she serenely walked the cobble stone streets “quelle heure est-il beaujeune mademoiselle” said an old man sitting at an empty quaint outdoor café, Ruby stopped and smiled before replying “Je ne sais pas…Lupin” said Ruby slyly “Awww!” said the old man speaking English suddenly “How’d you know it was me?” asked Lupin chuckling “ Daughter’s intuition” replied Ruby folding her arms across her chest “Saw your handy work at the jewelry store last night” said Lupin holding up the newspaper, with a picture of a French jewelry store swarmed by police clearly visible in the picture was inspector Zenigata. “They think it was me” said Lupin, Ruby chortled “Oh god dad if only they knew” she sighed “So how’d you do it?” asked Lupin, “Ah, ah, ah” said Ruby waggling a finger teasingly “You always told me never steal and tell” replied Ruby pulling up a chair across from her father, “All joking aside” said Lupin changing his tone to a business like one “ You took my mark young lady and I intend to get those gems” he said, Ruby burst out laughing “If you’re going to steal them from me you’re going to have to work for it” declared Ruby, s he placed a kiss on Lupin’s temple as she slid out of the chair and walked off into the Parisian afternoon.

Jigens Ending

….a nurse came into the room “Miss Moon the results of your pregnancy test are in” she said in a kind voice, “Pregnancy test I didn’t… Ruby glared at Goemon and Jigen realizing what they had done “Congratulations Miss Moon you’re one week pregnant and Mr. Daisuke is the father” said the nurse and walked out of the room, Lupin burst into the room “ONE WEEK PREGNANT!?” bellowed Lupin, angrily he gave Jigen and Goemon infuriated glances, “He’s the father!” Ruby pointed a Jigen fearfully, Lupin lifted up Jigen by his collar “You better take care of my grandkid and princess or I swear Jigen I’ll chop off your balls” growled Lupin, and the rest of the afternoon was spent planning for the baby’s future.

“Breath, breath!” Shouted a nurse as Ruby say bow legged, sweat drenched, screaming on a medical table Jigen waited outside leaning against a doorway, tapping his foot impatiently, Lupin sat at a nearby his sleeves rolled up,Goemon winced every time Ruby screamed Ruby’s screams filled the maternal ward at the hospital.

After 12 hours of labor a doctor emerged from the hospital room, “Mr. Daisuke”said the doctor “Congratulations you are the father of a baby….

Goemon’s Ending

….a nurse came into the room “Miss Moon the results of your pregnancy test are in” she said in a kind voice, “Pregnancy test I didn’t… Ruby glared at Goemon and Jigen realizing what they had done “Congratulations Miss Moon you’re one week pregnant and Mr. Ishikawa is the father” said the nurse and walked out of the room, Lupin burst into the room “ONE WEEK PREGNANT!?” bellowed Lupin, angrily he gave Jigen and Goemon infuriated glances, “He’s the father!” Ruby pointed a Goemon fearfully, Lupin stormed over to Goemon before Lupin could lay a hand on Goemon, the samurai stopped him “As per my traditions and as the father of the baby I intend to marry your daughter” said Goemon, he walked over to Ruby’s bedside and took her hand “Miss Ruby will you honor me with your hand in marriage” Goemon recited on one knee “Oh, um yes” replied the young woman awkwardly.

The birds chirped merrily, the sun shone brightly Ruby wore a white kimono a plum blossom hair pin sat decoratively in her hair, she sat in a room waiting for the ceremony to begin, her belly had not yet begun to bulge, Ruby’s family had shown up for the wedding (quite disgruntled at the fact Ruby was knocked up), At last Ruby was called forward, as she smiled as she approached. Goemon traded his usual blue haroi and hakama for a black haroi and black hakama, he looked nervous but very handsome Ruby took his hand and patted it gently “be afraid be very afraid” warned Ruby jokingly, Goemon retorted with a silent laugh, as Ruby and Goemon walked down the isle she noticed the side reserved for Goemon’s family was empty the only people sitting there was Jigen and Lupin.

The couple sat before a Shinto priest and listened as he “purified” them.

Later they drank from the sake cups, at last Goemon and Ruby read their vows of commitment to each other….
