2 weeks later
“Dagger its been two weeks already when are you going to take me to go see Vicious,” said Faye.
“I'm sorry Faye, I've been so busy lately it slipped my mind, we'll go today,” he told her.
“You've been busy, busy doing what,” she asked.
“Talking with Mao, he wants Vicious executed,”
“What,” exclaimed Faye.
“His mind is set, it seems there is nothing more I can do,”
“No, he can't, I have to talk with him,” she said. She turned to walk away but Dagger caught her arm.
“Its no use, besides he's not here,” he lied.
“Where is he then,”
“He went to go see my father,”
“Dammit,” said Faye.
“I'll tell you what I'll do Faye, I'll take you to go see Mao but then if I do you can't go and see Vicious,”
“Why, what kind of a deal is that,”
“Vicious is being transported to a new location tomorrow, I don't even know the whereabouts of it. Tonight will be the only chance you will have to ever see Vicious again,” he told her.
“Fine then, take me to him,” said Faye.
“To Mao,”
“No, to Vicious,”
'Two weeks and no word of what's going on,' he thought. He wanted to know what was happening with the syndicate, with Dagger, Mao, and most importantly, Faye. He truly hoped she wouldn't come to see him. He didn't want her to have to submit to Dagger and give into his needs. Luckily she hadn't come for two weeks. She never showed up, for two whole weeks, but now Vicious was getting worried. She was close and he could sense it. She was nearby, moving closer and closer towards him. Then he realized, she was here.
“Alright Faye, you have 10 minutes,” said Dagger.
“30,” replied Faye.
“Are you out of your mind, Mao could be sending men here in 30 minutes. 15 and thats my final offer, take it or leave it,”
“Fine,” she said. They walked down the hall to where Vicious cell was. The guard unlocked the door and opened it. Faye's eyes met Vicious and she ran into his arms and held him tight. The door was closed and they were left alone.
“Faye,” he spoke. He took in her scent and ran his fingers through her hair. “Oh Faye,” he said again.
“Vicious,”
“You shouldn't of come, if Mao finds out,”
“He won't,”
“Still, you shouldn't of let Dagger bribe you just so you could see me,”
“I had to you idiot, I had to see you no matter the cost,” she told him. She pulled back and looked into his eyes.
“You've gone pale, they're not treating you well,” she said caressing his face. Vicious smirked and held her hands.
“They usually don't in these kinds of places,” he explained.
“If only I could get you out of here,”
“Its alright Faye, I'll be fine,”
“No, Mao plans to move you some place tomorrow, he won't tell anyone where...I'm scared for you,” she told him.
“Don't worry yourself over me Faye, I'll get out of this,”
“And what if you don't,”
“Have some faith in me Faye,”
“I do, you know I do but lets be serious Vicious, you can't get out of here all on your own,”
“Don't worry about it, just go, the longer you stay here the more anxious I get about Mao turning up with a group of men with guns,”
“Go, you want me to go. Fine, I'll go,” she said sadly.
“Faye, don't be like this, I need you to be strong,” he said. He pulled her into his arms and held her.
“Please do as I ask,” he asked.
“What you ask is easier said than done, its not that easy for me to just walk away and leave you,”
“I know, its not that easy letting you walk away from me,” he told her.
“Then don't make do it,”
“We don't have a choice,”
“There's always a choice,” said Faye.
“Not this time,” said Vicious.
“I hate it when your right,” Faye said. Vicious smirked and kissed her lips.
Dagger had just gotten off the phone with Spike. He had to leave early so he arranged for Spike to bring Faye back.
“Where did he go,” Faye asked Spike as they entered the car.
“He was called over to the elders of his syndicate,” Spike replied.
He and Faye drove back to the syndicate and the first thing Faye did was go over to Mao's office. She knocked once and waited but he no voice was heard. She knocked again, still it was quiet. Without waiting any longer she walked in. She gasped at what she saw.
Mao was on his back on the ground with a gun in his right hand and a bullet in his head. Faye slowly walked over to him and sank to her knees.
“Uncle,” she whispered. In his other hand was a small note with her name on it. Faye reached for it and took it from his grasp.
My beloved Faye,
Words cannot express how sorry I am for the pain I have caused you. I know I have been nothing but a disappointment to you as both an uncle and an elder and so I have decided that life is no longer my fate. You would probably agree also if you knew what terrible crime I just committed. Just know I did it because it was the right thing to do. I love you dearly my little Faye and I am very sorry,”
Love Mao
Faye stood up and reread the letter. “What did you do,” she said to him.
Spike came in and looked at Mao's dead form on the ground. “Faye,” he said. He pulled her away from the body and out into the hallway.
“Faye I have to tell you something,” he said.
“What is it,” asked Faye worried.
“The place where Vicious was...it was blown up, Mao sent the orders for it earlier, Dagger just called and told me now,” said Spike. Faye's eyes were unreadable. She stood staring at Spike . “Faye, Faye,” he said shaking her lightly. The world stopped and suddenly everything went black.
