Rain

Hinata sat on the bench in the rain. She liked the rain it made it possible to cry and not alarm anyone. But maybe sitting in the rain in the summer and sitting in the rain in the fall were different considering it was warmer in the summer than in the fall.

Hinata coughed into her hand. She felt feverish and nauseous. Maybe coming out in the fain was a bad idea. She got up to leave but she stood up too fast and she felt the world spin. She fell forward but lucky for her our favorite blonde haired ninja was there to catch her.

“Oi, Hinata you okay?” Naruto asked “Your face is really red are you sick or something.” He put a hand on her forehead. “Oi, Hinata you’re running a fever you should be at home.”

“N-Naruto-kun?” Hinata asked in a whisper before passing out. Naruto picked Hinata up bridal style and carried her back to the Hyuuga mansion.

Naruto laid Hinata down on her bed and pulled a chair up beside it. Then he placed his hand on her forehead again and frowned she was burning up. He went to the bathroom and got a wet cloth and put it on her forehead. Then he sat down again. He looked at her. To be honest he had never considered Hinata as anything more than a friend. He looked at her sleeping figure. It reminded him of something the way her figure looked … it reminded him of something but he couldn’t place his finger on it. He looked back at Hinata’s figure. He had to admit she was…was… beautiful and her lips they looked so kissable. Was that even a word? He eyed her lips lustfully. He leaned in and kissed her lightly on the lips.

Hinata’s eyes fluttered open just as Naruto’s lips brushed against hers. She blinked. Had he just kissed her? When Naruto realized Hinata was awake he blushed.

“N-Naruto-kun?” She asked. “How did I get here?” She asked him.

“I brought you here.” Naruto said blushing. “I should probably go. See you Hinata.” He said getting up.

“D-don’t leave Naruto-kun. Please stay.” Hinata said. Naruto looked at her and sat back down. “Naruto-kun thank you.”

“For what?” Naruto asked confused. Hinata blushed.

“For bringing me home and taking care of me.” Hinata said her blush deepening.

“Ah it was nothing.” Naruto said smiling. “We’re friends after all aren’t we?” He asked. Hinata smiled.

“Yeah we’re friends.” She said agreeing with him. But inside she felt sad that Naruto only considered her a friend.

“But you know maybe we could be more than friends if you want to.” Naruto said suddenly. Hinata blushed and looked at him in awe.

“N-Naruto-kun.” Hinata said. Naruto smiled at her. Hinata grinned and blushed. “Naruto-kun.” Naruto leaned in and kissed her slipping his tongue into her mouth. Hinata was surprised at first but then she relaxed into the kiss.

Hiashi and Neji watched from a crack in the doorway. Neji had a smirk on his face and Hiashi was scowling. Neji looked up at his uncle.

“You owe me five bucks.” Neji said holding out his hand. Hiashi scowled deeply as he reached into his wallet.

One week later Naruto sat on his couch wrapped up in a blanket a thermometer sticking out of his mouth.

“How did you get sick anyway?” Sakura asked taking the thermometer out. “I mean you never get sick.” Naruto just grinned foxily.

“Um well… I don’t really know.” Naruto lied. Sakura looked at him suspiciously.

“Wasn’t Hinata just sick last week?” She asked after a moment. No answer. “Naruto?” she asked looking at him. He was asleep.

‘Hmph. Guess I’ll have to ask him when he wakes up.” She thought to herself. Then she went out the door. She had to talk to Tsunade about something..

After she had left Hinata came into the apartment. Naruto opened his eyes.

“Hinata?” He asked surprised. “What are you doing here?” She smiled softly at him.

“Returning the favor.” She said walking over and kissing him.

Sakura smiled to herself. “I knew it.” She said. She couldn’t wait to tell Tsunade.
