Author’s Notes

I do not own the characters from the original Sailor Moon show, nor do I own the concept of Sailor Senshi. However, I did make up most of the Zodiac Senshi and the villains as well. If you have read my other fanfiction stories, this story combines elements of both the “BSSM Zodiac Rainbow” story and “BSSM Next Generation,” being somewhat of a replacement for both stories. Though this story doesn’t have as many as the “Zodiac Rainbow” story, there are still 12 Senshi, so I have my list. As a warning, the new characters will be introduced rather quickly in the first chapter, and I also have changed the main girls’ names to be Japanese. I also edited out the part about the dog-girl, since I decided it wasn’t really needed for her character.

Chapter 1: The Elkhound of the Stars

It was the 30th century, and all the former Sailor Senshi and their daughters lived in the Crystal Palace. This included the Sailor Starlights, who had recently come from Kinmoku with their children, escaping the destruction of their planet. Only this time it was permanent, with Kinmoku itself reduced to a bunch of space rocks. One day, the Crystal Palace had a new visitor in the form of a young gray Norwegian Elkhound dog. The guards stared as the dog climbed up the steps. It looked too healthy to be a stray, though there was no collar on its neck nor any dog tags.

“I need to see Neo-Queen Serenity and the Sailor Senshi,” the dog announced, sounding just like a human girl! The guards stared some more, shocked, but then they stepped aside and let the strange dog through. They wondered if perhaps the Sailor Senshi had some way of attracting weird talking animals, since three talking cats lived in that palace already.

Meanwhile, the former Sailor Senshi were having a meeting with the Starlights. It was about the circumstances that had caused the Starlights to return to Earth.

“A woman with green hair did it. She was dressed like Galaxia, but she looked a little different,” Yaten said. Rei nodded.

“I saw someone like that in a vision I had recently. She didn’t do anything in my dream, but she did look like a green-haired version of Galaxia,” she agreed.

“Then we need to awaken the Zodiac Senshi!” the Elkhound blurted out as she barged into the room. Everyone stared at the newcomer; while the Senshi were used to talking cats, a talking dog was something different.

“Who are the Zodiac Senshi? And who are you?” Makoto asked the dog.

“I’m Ambrosia! And I’m here to help awaken the Zodiac Senshi! They are the ones who can defeat Neo Sailor Galaxia!” Ambrosia declared.

“That must be the person who destroyed our planet!” Seiya exclaimed.

“You still didn’t answer Makoto’s question. Who are the Zodiac Senshi? Why can’t we defeat this enemy ourselves? We’re Senshi too,” Haruka snapped.

“Could we? Neo-Queen Serenity and Endymion are mostly powerless in battle. And I don’t know about the others, but I tried transforming the other day, when I had that vision, but my wand wouldn’t work. Maybe we’re not meant to be the Senshi anymore,” Rei mused.

“What about Chibi-Usa and all our other children? Are they the Zodiac Senshi? Maybe it’s time we passed on our powers to them. But how come they’re Zodiac Senshi? Our names are like the planets,” Minako said.

“True, but the Zodiac signs are associated with the planets. Like how people say that my sign, Scorpio, is ruled by Pluto,” Setsuna suggested.

“That’s exactly it! All of you need to work together and awaken the Zodiac Senshi! Even you Starlights!” Ambrosia announced, and she began to glow brightly. The light then concentrated on her neck and a crystal appeared, attached to a necklace.

“All of us? Is it even possible to combine our powers with the Senshi of this solar system? Might that cause a negative reaction and blow up your little crystal?” Taiki asked, unsure as to why she and the other Starlights were needed.

“Well, if she says all of us are needed, then you three should join in too! You’re here now, which makes you part of our group!” giggled Minako.

“Exactly. So come on, transfer your powers into my crystal! It’s not that hard! It won’t even hurt you!” Ambrosia urged them cheerfully. Minako was the first to go. She touched Ambrosia’s crystal, making it glow orange for a moment. The other Senshi all followed her, including the Starlights, who were relieved that the crystal didn’t explode in their faces.

“Now what do we do? Are you going to awaken the Zodiac Senshi?” Serenity asked. Ambrosia winked at her.

“Of course, silly Queen! Do you always state the obvious like that?” she teased, “But I’m not going to be able to do it all at once. So be patient with me.”

“I’m still confused about something. You said there were 12 Zodiac Senshi, right? With Endymion, that makes for 13 Sailor Senshi. Did you count wrong, or was he not supposed to join us?” asked Ami.

“He was. I can be the 13th Sailor Senshi! I am Sailor Elkhound, and I will be a therapy dog!” Ambrosia announced with a yap.

“Would you like to meet our daughters? I think you probably know who Chibi-Usa is, but maybe everyone else could go get the others. They should know that you’re staying here,” Serenity suggested. Ambrosia wagged her tail as she watched the others leave, she was excited to meet new people! After waiting for awhile, Rei came back with a little blonde girl who was clinging to her and crying.

“NO!! I don’t want to meet a dog! Dogs are scary!!” sobbed the girl.

“This is Hiromi. Sorry, Ambrosia, I don’t think she likes dogs,” Rei said, obviously making an understatement, “But I think most of the others will at least accept you being here.”

“Hi, puppy! Is it true you’re going to make me into a Sailor Senshi? Can I have the power to make people furrow their brows?” asked a new voice. Yaten had come in next, along with a rainbow-haired girl who was, luckily, enthusiastic about meeting the new pet.

“I don’t know about furrowed brows, but you’re going to have some kind of magical abilities when you get to be a Senshi. Just think of the Zodiac sign that fits your birthday, and that’s the Senshi you’ll be,” said Ambrosia. Taiki quickly follwed Yaten, and she arrived with a girl who had short brown hair. This girl looked like she was closer to Hiromi’s age, and she also seemed shy.

“That was Umi,” Taiki supplied, “She’s obsessed with furrowed brows for some reason or another. This is Ryoko, my daughter.”

“Hello, little dog,” Ryoko said softly, and then she buried her face in Taiki’s pants again.

“That dog is staying with us? It looks kind of wild, but beautiful and elegant,” commented a new voice. A teen girl with long, curly, dark green hair was with Seiya, staring at Ambrosia curiously.

“Thank you! You’re pretty too, whoever you are!” giggled Ambrosia.

“I am Shizuka Seiya, and I don’t mind you being here if you don’t drool on me,” Shizuka snapped.

“Be nice! This dog was sent by Neo-Queen Serenity, so she is the Queen of doggies! Hail, gray wolf dog!” cheered a young woman with long black hair who bounced into the room, followed by Ami, who seemed a little embarrassed.

“This is my daughter, Hikari,” she announced.

“Yeah, you can hail me! I like to play in the ice, too! And the snow! Is it going to snow here soon?” Ambrosia asked eagerly.

“A talking dog! That means I’m going to be a Sailor Senshi! I will be the Sailor Senshi of anime, and I will defeat anyone who offends my fanfiction!” Hikari declared, doing the moves that used to accompany Sailor Moon’s “I will punish you” speech and ignoring Ambrosia’s question about the weather. Ambrosia was confused, since she wasn’t sure what “anime” and “fanfiction” were, but she was distracted when two very strong-looking girls, a redhead and a girl with her turquoise hair in a braid.

“I’m Kazuko Meiou!” announced the redhaired girl, “And this is Maya Aino! I bet you can guess who our mothers are.” Ambrosia nodded, Setsuna and Minako, probably, she thought.

“Niji, Anzu, come meet the dog. She’s going to give you two Senshi powers soon, like how we used to be Senshi,” Michiru said, two very different-looking girls behind her and Haruka. Niji Tenou was very fat and wore her blue hair in a ponytail, while Anzu Kaiou was extremely tall and thin and had short purple hair.

“Don’t forget about me! I’m Kimiko Kino!” chirped a very tiny little silver-haired teenager who was with Makoto. Finally Hotaru arrived, with a serious-looking green-haired girl named Nagisa.

“Good, everyone’s here. Please listen to Ambrosia when she tells you things, because she’s here to awaken the Zodiac Senshi. That is, all of you,” Neo-Queen Serenity announced.

“I knew it! I’m going to be Sailor Anime!” exclaimed Hikari.

“That’s not a Zodiac sign,” sighed Niji Tenou.
