Prologue: At the Beginning

Long ago, there was once a great war between the countries of the world that had raged for five years. Many people perished and the cruel leaders of the Wicked Ones were showing no mercy. It was then that a band of select few ninja decided to do something about it. What their countries were doing wasn’t enough.

They devised a plan- a plan so perfect, it would not fail. Then they put it into action.

Here is where our story differs. Some say the plan was to draw out the Generals of the Wicked Ones and attack straightforward. Others say the plan was to sneak into the Wicked One’s Fortress and capture it. However, the most believed was that there was no plan. At least no one ever found out about it, or lived to speak of it. For the band of ninja that finally defeated the Wicked One and ended the war died soon after. No one knows why.

The legendary band of ninja became known as the Holy Heroes, the great war as the Old War, and the world as they once knew it as the Old Worlds. Because of the Holy Heroes, the world was saved.

It wasn’t over quite yet, though. The Old War had ruined everything- the land, villages, whole countries even. The remaining ninja set out to rebuild their world. And rebuild they did.

The Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water Countries were rebuilt, including most of their ninja villages. The Leaf, Sand, Rock, Snow, Mist, Waterfall, and Star & Moon(which became one whole village) were all rebuilt, and their respective ninja began to rebuild the population.

New Feudal Lords, Kages, and other ;leaders were chosen. Refugees of the Wicked Ones were killed or taken into custody. Everything was starting over.

However, all was not right. Something mysterious was still left over from the Wicked Ones…. Little did anyone know, but the Holy One’s had also left something behind. And now, 1000 years later, the gifts that the Wicked Ones and the Holy Ones left behind are beginning to surface…

Chapter 1 - Daiku’s “Royal” Team

What?!” Daiku screeched. They couldn’t be doing this to him. He wouldn’t stand for it.

“You heard me, Daiku.” Daine smirked. Her older brother was freaking out. “Now be quiet. No one is supposed to know of this.” She had serious blackmail now.

The two siblings stood in their mansion’s kitchen, which was deserted save them. The two were the children of the most prestigious clan in the Earth Country, the Murakata’s. Their mother was the younger sister of the countries Feudal Lord, therefore making their clan very important.

“How could they do this to me?!” Daiku whispered franticly. “Shouldn’t they have asked me or something?”

Daine scoffed. “That’s what you’re going crazy about? You’re not even a bit surprised about the peace treaty with the Leaf? They village we’ve been fighting for the past five years? Gee, you’re weird.”

“But, Daine! I’m not going to marry some girl I’ve never met before! I thought the days of arranged marriages was over!”

“Where’d you get that idea? Sayaka has an arranged marriage with Daisuke, ya’ know. It’s not a surprise. Stop complaining.”

“That’s different. At least she knows who she’s marrying! It’s Daisuke, for Kami-sama’s sake! Sayaka is lucky!” Daine shook her small 10 year old head, ignoring her brothers rants about how their cousin was so lucky and that he should have a fiancée that he knows.

“Daiku, shut up.” When he didn’t, Daine added casually, “Or else, you know, I might let slip to Father what happened at the Festival a few weeks ago…” Daiku stopped.

“Anything but that.”

“Then calm down… and do my homework for a month.”

“What?!”

“You know, I think I hear Father calling…”

Daiku scowled. “Fine, you brat.” Daine smirked, turning to leave.

“Oh, and Daiku? One more thing. Don’t tell anyone, got it?”

Daiku ran full speed to Daisuke Yuuki’s house- er, mansion. Like Daiku, Daisuke was filthy rich, just a few ranks down from the Munakata clan.

Daisuke was Daiku’s beat friends and teammate. He always seemed to know when Daiku needed help, so when Daiku got there, Daisuke was waiting on the steps.

“What’s wrong, Daiku?” Daisuke’s aqua eyes glanced over Daiku questioningly. He put his hand up to his dirty blonde hair and scratched his head. Daiku looked pretty upset.

“it’s… I…” Daiku stopped, finally catching his breath. “I’m getting married!” Daisuke blinked at Daiku, not sure how to respond. His best friend was all worked up because of an arranged marriage?

Suddenly, Daisuke burst out laughing, leaving Daiku to stare at him in wonder. “Just the way you said it!” Daisuke spat out, clutching his stomach. “It was hilarious!” Daiku growled and started yelling at Daisuke, insisting that is wasn’t funny business and that her was seriously upset.

“Ahem. Excuse me boys.” The two immediately stopped bickering and turned, already knowing who the voice belonged to.

Standing against the sun was none other than Sayaka Isa, looking elegant in her slim dress. It was maroon red with bits of pink hem near the slits, which came up to her mid-thighs. Sayaka was gorgeous. She had perfectly tanned skin already darkened by heritage and wore her chestnut brown locks up in a high bun, swept away from her eyes. As the equivalent of a princess, Sayaka had a right to be as beautiful as she was.

Sadly, her looks were wasted on the two boys in front of her.

“Whaddya want, Sayaka?” Daisuke asked, obviously bored. Sayaka glared.

“You two are late. Again.” She was referring to their team training, which was everyday at 10:00. It was 11:00 now.

How many times must I tell you to get to training on time! I am getting sick and tired of having to go looking for you guys everyday!” Sayaka fumed, basically steaming.

“Well, you see, Sayaka,” Daisuke began, his voice sweet, “Out little Daiku here-” Daiku scowled at this, “-well, he’s getting married now, just like us, darling.” He smiled innocently, hoping that was well enough an excuse.

Luckily for him, his fiancée was much more concerned about Daiku’s welfare than to question Daisuke’s antics.

“Oh, Daiku, a girl from the Leaf of all places!” Sayaka cooed after Daiku finished his story. Daiku smiled as Sayaka ruffled his shaggy brown hair, reassuring him about the whole thing. Somehow, Sayaka always made things better.

Sayaka frowned a bit, her fierce brown eyes searching Daiku’s sea blue ones for any other insecurity he might have had. Although the two were only cousins, it was as if they were siblings.

Though Daiku didn’t have any other concerns, Sayaka did.

“Daiku…,” she said, “You’re going to be able to see her when we take the Jonin Exam. Are you okay with that?”

Daiku blinked. He hadn’t considered that his wife-to-be might be taking the Exam. All Daine had told him was her name and her rank: chunin. But, it was the fact that the girl was even a ninja in the first place that truly had surprised him. The only royal kunoichi he knew was Sayaka, and it seemed only normal to Daiku that she was a ninja.

Daisuke narrowed his eyes. “What did you say her name was?”

“I only know her last name… Kamata.”

I made them Jonin... just 'cause. I thought I'd try something different I suppose... shrugs Anyways, so far Daiku, Daisuke, and Sayaka are the only characters (not counting Daine). However, 3 more come in soon. Then, eventually, 3 more. And then 3 more. For a grand total of 12 main characters, it might get a bit confusing. Hopefully, you'll be able to understand it all... Also, there are probably some(okay, maybe alot) of spelling/grammar/typing mistakes that I made. JJust ignore them, or (if it really bothers you), tell me nicely. I don't like it when people "yell" at me. .

So, anyways, thanks for reading!
