When Death Takes A Sister

Aubrey’s Point of View

It rained the day my sister died. It was dark, cold, and damp. As it should be. She was more than just my sister. She was my teammate. My best friend…she was a part of me. Triplets. There were three of us. And now one of us is dead. Both me and my sister knew exactly when she died. It felt like someone had just ripped out a piece of our soul’s. Nobody talked during the funeral. Except the Turaga. Everybody was crying. She looked so peaceful against the velvet lining of the casket. Her face was so….relaxed. It’s so hard imagining life without Amanda. I hold my younger sister closer to me and promise myself that no one will ever take Alexis away from me. I will not lose another sibling to Darkhunter scum, like I did my sister.

“Don’t cry…”

I look up, tears streaming down my face. Why did she had to die? Why my sister? I need her. I’ve already lost Mom…why does everyone I love die so quickly?

“I love you…”

I hold my younger triplet….well, I guess now we’re twins….I hold her tighter and I fight back the urge to scream. I want my sister back! Why did she have to die like she did?! Please….I just want my sister back. I feel a pressure on my shoulder. It’s almost air-like and comforting in a way. I feel my heart practically stop as I feel a pair of lips press against my brow and a soft voice whisper in my ear.

“When destiny calls you, you must be strong. I may not be with you, but you've got to hold on. I'll be with you. I'll be there for you, forever, always and always. Just look over your shoulder. I'll be there, I promise.”

I gasp softly and then bite my lip, nodding wordlessly. Amanda is okay. She’s in a better place, and I know she’s always watching over me and our sister.

"You'll be in my heart

No matter what they say

You'll be here in my heart

Always..."
