1Olive Snook's head rolled forward hitting the dashboard. The impact startled her, opening her blood encrusted eyes. Her vision blurred and she knew her contacts were long gone. Her right arm frantically searched around for the source of the extreme pain surging through her body. Her fingers touched something hot and sticky, then something fleshy. She didn't bear to look for she was faint of heart. Then It dawned upon her that she wasn't supposed to be alone in the car. She blindly searched for the man she loved in the driver seat. She tried to call his name but her throat was caked with what she figured was more blood. She said a prayer to herself and for Ned, the only man she had ever loved. As she closed her eyes she heard a slight moan to her right. He reached for her, touching her almost completely severed arm. She began to cry, tears that tore through the blood and grime on her face. Her breathing quickened and he began crying also. The car teetered forward more and her crying got more intense. A box slid from under her chair, a pink one with a man and a pie.
"Yeah, Olive?" Ned went into the kitchen where his petite blonde employee was holding a pie box and a set of car keys.
"Can I borrow your car? I've got a delivery and mine's in the shop."
"I'll drive you.. I don't think your feet will reach."
"Thanks." Olive smiled and headed out the back door.
A tingling sensation started at the tips of Olive's toes and headed up her blood stream to her extremities.
"Olive." He touched his finger tips to her face but could not reach any further. His hand slacked and he tried again. "Olive are you..?"
"N-Ned. I need help." If she had her contacts in, Olive would have seen him smile. Not at the fact that she needed seriously medical attention which was no laughing matter, but the fact she was alive warmed his damaged heart.
"I am so.." He saw her left arm and made an odd noise. Something between a gag a gasp and shriek. Olive's attention was brought back to the pile of blood she used to pet Digby with. Something she knew that she would probably never do again. Olive thought about her life, and what really meant something to her. All the stupid things that seemed so important at what ever point in her life they happened to come up. She was sorry for Ned, for pretty much sealing his death as well as hers, for never being nice to Chuck, for letting Alfredo leave. A glob of moisture slid from her cheek to her orange Pie Hole uniform. It stained the skirt, just as the blood from her arm had. She choked a second one back and began to pray. Ned prayed as well. Little did they know that they prayed for the same people, each other. And with that the car tipped forward and fell to the ground. Spiraling through the spring air, as a perfectly good Triple Berry Pie was crushed into a million pieces. Olive joined her lips together, blew Ned a kiss, and closed her eyes. Ned did the same.
