The Cat, The Snark and the Pool Full of Roses

By: Amanda (Adami) Rose

Word Count:

This is in response to the (evil yet hopelsessly cute) Plot-Cricket left by the Lady of the Masque in the Tourism Centre of the Mob of Irate Torch-Wielding Fans on April 08,2008. the challenge was: "One hundred words of Severus Snape with flowers-preferably of him getting caught enjoying them!" However, I am far too fond of words, so it turned out a little longer than the Lady requested.

If anyone had told Headmistress Minerva McGonagall that she would one day walk in on the resident Potions Master rolling aruond in a small pool filled with rose petals she would have openly laughed in their face and sent them to the nearest psych ward for a check up.

As it was she was wondering if she should have her eyes checked, for before her was Severus Snape not only rolling in rose petals, but giggling like a school-girl.

"Severus Sidney Snape, what do you think you're doing?"

Upon hearing this, Severus bolted upright, covering his more delicate bits with a handful of the red petals. "Minerva!"

"Severus, what are you doing?"

"I , Uh, well, I'm rolling in a small pool full of rose petals." he said with as much dignity as one in said situation could.

"I see that. What I want to know is why you are doing it." Minerva replied, clearly exasperated.

"Then you should have asked that. However, to answer your question; because I like the feeling of the petals on my skin. Now if you don't mind" he said, gesturing towards the open door. "Please leave me to it."

Minerva nodded\ and turned slowly she headed back out the door.

"Oh, and Minerva, " He called. "You're welcome to join me any time you wish."

At that Minerva did the only thing she could think to do at that turned around, walked back into the room, shut and locked the door and put a very powerful silencing charm on the entire area and proceeded to find out what all the giggling was about.
