“Renn, why did they take wolf?”

“I don’t know Torak”

We were sitting around a fire their made after they decided to make camp once it got dark. ‘Why did they take wolf’ Torak thought for about the millionth time that day.

He knew the souleaters were behind this. He just had to figure out why their toke wolf.

…he had to save wolf. If something happened to wolf, he would be alone. Glancing at renn he knew he wouldn’t be all alone. He could live with the ravens but he knew he didn’t belong there. Glancing at renn again he couldn’t help but smile a little. Renn didn’t know how much it meant to him when she came with him. Renn was he’s best friend and he felt bad doubting her.

“Renn”

“Yeah” she replied fixing one of her arrows.

“Thank you”

“For what?” looking up at me now.

“For not leaving me when wereached the edge of the forest”

She looked surprised for a moment, but it turned into a face of anger.

“You thought I might have left you? She said with a slight edge in her voice.

I blinked. But before I could explain she started talking again.

“You’re not getting rid of me that easily” she said looking at me.

We stared at each other for a moment.

I smiled at her realizing what she meant. I won’t leave you.

She smiled back.
